How does status work on Cernos Prime?

So I was using Cernos Prime and thought "Hey! Status chance seems nice!" So it's at 35% chance (I believe, cannot check at the moment.) and tried corrosive on a Bombard. I got a good amount of fully charged shots into him, but not a single shot did corrosive. I expected with 35% it would almost definitely proc with 6 arrows.

THe 35% is split between all six arrow so each arrow has a 5.833% chance to proc....

That plus physical procs are 4 times as common as elemental procs on an IPS weapon.

Went to check the wiki and codex, (as I'm still missing some parts of it) are you sure the 35% is status chance instead of critical chance?

Anyways, if it shares the same status chance as the majority of the Cernos family, I personally wouldn't touch it. Though I can see it being a very nice crowd control weapon, as its high base damage and multiple arrows can probably clear a small horde with enough punch through and multishot.

It works like how shotguns work with status, which means that status on the Cernos Prime is useless unless you can get it to 100%, but with that 10% base status good luck with that.

Alright. Time to scrap that idea.
