Does lower Status Duration lower damage on DoT Status Effects?

Question

Hi folks!

Sorry if this has been answered, couldn't find a clear answer anywhere. In the case of DoT Status Effects such as Slash, Heat, Toxin or Gas, does lowering status duration lower the damage?

I have the following Riven for the Kohm

+151.3 % Critical Damage

+284 % Damage

- 70 % Status Duration

How does the negative status duration interact with DoT effects? Does it deal the same amount of damage, in a reduced amount of time? Or is the time between ticks of a DoT static, meaning this would lower damage output overall?

Thanks for the help!

I believe a status effect that deals damage deals a % of the weapon's damage every second for X second.

So if you lower the duration you lower the overall damage.

makes sense but the DOT is effective on status that have a timer built in i think like viral/toxic ect

i think corrosive isnt affected as its a instantaneous proc effect? thats how i built my grakata with a similar

-  % Status Duration

and it well..is evil on anything with armor [crit%+crit dmg also on it]

Corrosive has no duration and is not affected by this kind of mod.

I was talking about "damage dealing" status but it covers every status that has a duration.

Don't know if anyone tested for but I think it's either like Trinity's EV : faster ticks or like Saryn's Miasma : more ticks and more damage OR old Miasma: less ticks but more damage per tick.

ive done a testing but didnt seem to alter tic ratio just how many were done overall ?

example if its only 8secs tic time normally then the reduction is reduced by 70%  that leaves it to 5.6 secs [if i did that right off the top of my head o. O ?]

the tics each dealt same damage but instead of a 8sec with 1 tic a sec =8 damage points total you get , 5 tics so only 5 damage points a sec then?

Or blast to put any enemy on the ground, if you weapon has decent status chance/fire rate, any enemy hit get downed and is free to DPS.

I guess it's correct otherwise Ash's and Saryn's passive would be pointless

For e.g. 1 tick = 10 dmg then...

if usual it takes 10 ticks = 100 dmg

SO reduced status duration: means 10 ticks becomes 5 ticks which becomes 50 dmg

But damage per tick still same, just lesser ticks now

I think it's like that. No? Hehe
