As the ships collided, The Chroma launched from the top of the ship, gunning it's engines for the Damaged Xiphos. As it barrelled towards the ship, it scanned the area for any other targets.

The patchwork ship hovered near the Fomorian.
The man began to board his ship when something made him pause, looking out into the distance. He grabbed a pair of binoculars from a compartment on his ship, and began scanning the horizon beyond the crash ship...
But he found nothing.
Strange... Did I just imagine a seeing someone...?
The Intruder shook his head, dismissing the idea as he set a course for Deadwood.
He placed the blackened sand on one of the work benches.
One step closer, TinMan...One step closer...

There was no sign of the grey-cloaked man, but the loki was falling through the air, aiming a harpak at the Chroma.

A harpak lance speared into the Chroma's chest, and began to reel the loki towards the Chroma. In one hand it held the grineer rifle, the other, its amphis.

The Chroma reversed course as the spear entered it's chest, speeding past the Loki as it dragged the cord behind it. As the cable was fulled taut, the Loki would be snapped backwards as it was dragged towards the Planets surface with the Chroma.

Instead of being dragged backwards, the rifle was simply ripped from the loki's hand. The loki continued on its path, sailing away from the Chroma and the battle.

Marcus now stood atop of the condor he had boarded, holding a tattered grey cloak in one hand. He watched in confusion as a Chroma and a Loki fought. Not knowing which one was on his side, he opted to wait and see how the battle played out.

The Chroma looked back to see where the Loki had gone, tracking it's trajectory as it spun it's arching to face it.
Then it spotted Marcus.

While Marcus kept an eye on the Chroma who was looking at him funny, his mind was racing with questions. Who were these strange men, and why did some of them wear void keys in their arms? He had counted seven keys in each arm on the one he had killed. Were the keys how they were wielding powers similar to those the tenno used? Why were they here? Were they the ones who had been wiping the computers? What were they doing attacking tenno ships? OLPP MKAS NCKT INUZ? That tenno back at the bar seemed to know them, who was he? Clearly not in league with them, but what was thier history with each other? Were the tenno under attack still alive? Did they know who these cloaked men were?

"Rose," he said, "Can you give me any information on cloaked men who embed void keys in their arms?"

"I'll see what I can find." She replied.

A plume of sand splashed from the point of impact. As it stood, the Chroma pulled the harpoon from its chest, unholstering a latron as it opened fire on the Loki. The Chroma made sure to stay a good distance away as it engaged its target.

((I wonder what event made him get angry XD))

((And it's Marcus with a C by the way, not a K))

Marcus tried to comm the frost he had met back in the bar.

"Hey," he said, "It's the Excalibur from the bar. You wouldn't happen to someone(s?) named Vigil Operandum, would you?"

The Loki began to switch teleport with various objects between him and the Chroma. A rock here, a plant there, etc. He quickly ate up the distance, getting close enough to stab out with his staff.

((Blame auto correct.))
"Vigil? That's the name of my ship fleet, but I don't know anyone, nor have a ship, called Vigil Operandum." Svytoj replied.

The Loki was immediatly smacked in the face by one of the Odonata's wings as it's user worked to parry the blow, The Chroma backing away as it continued to fire.

"Wierd. Wonder why he's beating the hell out of these guys then." He mused to himself.

"Never did get your name by the way." He said into the comms.

A void gate opened up behind the Chroma, and void-charged bullets spewed out, homing towards the warframe. The grey-cloaked man stepped out, with several soldiers wearing orokin faceplates fanning out behind him. While the loki was keeping the Chroma occupied, his friend had been bringing reinforcements.

"I don't know what you guys did," the cloaked man laughed, "But the Field Marshal really wants you dead."

Even as he spoke, two more grey-cloaked figures stepped out of the portal. One was female, with three keys to an arm, and held a dakra prime. The other was male, with four keys to an arm, and simply filled his hands with incandescent energy.

All at once, the soldiers opened fire.

High up above the Chroma, two bright stars flash before disappearing. Shortly after, one of the corrupted soldiers gets yanked into the air as bands of green radiate of it. A gleam tears past the edge of Vigils`vision before impaling itself head first onto another grunt. As the aura of green on the first soldier fades away it`s replaced by an instance of blue before a a giant black mass collides with the soldier's head and creates a noticeable crater, scattering those nearest to it into the air and tossing up a cloud of smoke and debris.

On the impaled soldier, a white and purple figure gracefully floats down and steps onto the katana's handle, left leg bent forward over the right (use the pic on the left as a reference. If anyone`s got a better way to describe it, please let me know.) and right arm on her hip. As the descends the corrupted splits apart soundlessly like a hot knife through butter. When the figure finally stakes itself into the bedrock, the falling halves of the soldier waters the flower in a violent shower of red and black.

The pieces never hit the ground though, as the tops of the soldier swiftly begin to bubble and fizz before turning into dust and drifting away like petals in the wind. The ground where the katana lands also begins to turn an unnatural grey white as it too begins to crumble away. As the earlier smoke cloud blows away, a black and red beast rights itself up from it's crouched position, it's right hand smeared with crimson and the pestled remains of the corrupted's skull, neck.and face implant.

"Ohgeezohgeezohgeez, they've come out to play~! Stuff's about to get wrecked~!" Aria squeals with the excitement of a girl who just found love all over again. "We definitely can't miss this~!"

Wasting no time, the girl  barely bigger than Jane hefts her up by the waist effortlessly and carries here to the Scimitar's navigation tab, where the metal floor retracts in and transforms into a much more normal looking cockpit chair, complete with sticks and levers. Leaning down and sliding Jane in, the teen is quickly strapped in with safety belts as various hard light screens come to life around her.

"There we go, better than bouncing around in case the gravity gets knocked off right~?"

"Wait, where are you going?" Jane asks quizzically.

"To get a piece of the action of course~! And to make sure that they don't decide to give chase~!" Aria teases Jane as she ruffles Jane's hair slightly. "Sol, keep her safe~! If Jane gets hurt neither of are getting out of this in one piece~!" Aria shouts into the craft's interior as she runs down the ramp and into the bowels of the ship.

"Understood, operator. I'll proceed to link up with the other crafts in the upper atmosphere." Cephalon Sol calmly answers as the Scimitar's nose begins to veer sharply upwards. As one of the monitors screen zoos in on the two near mythical beings crashing into the fight below, Jane can only wonder what's about to unfold. She knows that Aunt A's definitely stronger than the average bear person, but just what does she plan on doing jumping headfirst into a fight like *that*?!

(slowly chugging away at last. On another note, anyone else hoping for fans as an (sooner rather than later) eventual melee?)

"Fair enough," Marcus replied as he leaped from the condor to the Scimitar as it flew past, "I've got something else to occupy me in the meantime anyway."

He knelt down, rapping his knuckles against the hull.

"Permission to come aboard?" he said casually into his comms.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

"NO!" The man with two lex primes roared, shoving his way past disoriented soldiers. The two other grey-cloaked inquisitors had reached the front line, and began to attack the tenno.

The woman with the Dakra was suddenly to the left of the Saryn, and began to slash furiously with her sword. Energy coursed down the weapon, and a bladewave was created with every slice.

The man with two pistols began to fire at the chroma, explosions quickly filling the skies,

The last inquisitor held up his hands towards the trinity, and bands of energy shot out towards her chest, moving along with her. Other than that, no obvious effect.

"Fair enough," Marcus replied as he leaped from the condor to the Scimitar as it flew past, "I've got something else to occupy me in the meantime anyway."

He knelt down, rapping his knuckles against the hull.

"Permission to come aboard?" he said casually into his comms.

The Chroma barrels towards the ground, fire billowing around it as Lex rounds slam into the white hot cone of void and heat, their explosive payload is cooked off on contact. The Chroma slams into the ground just ahead of the Lex wielding inquisitor, rising to It's feet as the blistering ward begins to fade.

((Oh, and I mentioned it briefly in TUL, but these aren't corrupted. They're just regular men and women. They wear the faceplate as a sign of humility and service.))

(it's been too long since they previewed the fan prototype in devstream 91. though we kind of have them already, I'd like to see gunblades more along the lines of rifles with bayonets, or whatever sharp/blunt weapon of choice's available)

(nothing like refreshing buried tidbits~ It's been so long since TUL that the finer details have been lost to time)

"You seein this?" Marcus said to Rose.

"Yeah..." Rose said, a hint of awe in her voice.

"HOLYCRAP!GIANTBUGONWINDSHIELD!!GETITOFFITGETITOFFGETITOFF!!!" Jane screams from her cockpit chair as the Excalibur falls straight onto the one way cockpit windows, flailing her arms wildly in front of her. The excalibur would hear none of that shriek however through the outer hull. The underbelly hatch spins around, and a figure rapidly leaps out and skydives downwards towards the firefight below. Like a magician poofing a rabbit out a hat, the figure is joined by another one from the by all accounts empty sky.

Whether it be in response to the frame's sudden unannounced appearance or the cephalon carrying out Aria's orders, the Scimitar kicks into a sudden increase of acceleration and climbs near 90 degrees upwards, breaching towards the upper limits of the planet's exosphere. Off on the distance, three other shapes vaguely resembling crafts begin to close in.

The Saryn Prime jumps off the nikana's handle, giving it a light backwards kick as she does so. The blade easily comes out of the crumbled ground, and flips dangerously through the air before landing straight on back into the frame's sheath. Like a tree bending in a storm, the frame continues through the barrage of energy with eerie calm and grace.

Bladewaves heading for the legs are serenely stepped over. Waves aimed at the torso are spun past. Decapitations are limboed (is that a word?) under. As the Saryn passes by various soldiers on her way to the woman, it calmly picks up a throwing drill in each hand and unerringly hurls them at their heads one at a time, popping a virulent white growth that rapidly engulfs their heads.

Finally standing toe to toe with the woman, the Saryn's left hand brushes down the dakra, the energy glowing within turning a sickly pale color. The right hand strokes it's way up the woman's cloak and towards her face, countless growths making itself know almost immediately. The very air itself begins to feel sick, the particles within being turned into a stew of poison.

Going into a full sprint, the Trinity Prime slides into a crouch before leaping forward. Rather than using her abilites outward at the moment, she channels energy into her fist, the red and black instantaneously vaporizing into pure white as it brings the fist down into a devastating ground pound aimed at the inquisitor's face. (something along the lines of this, minus the running past the speed of sound and leaving scorch marks on the ground as a result. I should get back into DFO some time :s)

The inquisitor takes a step back, hurriedly reloading his pistols. His face was grim - he knew he wouldn't make it out of here alive. Right now he was simply trying to take a few out with him.

As the air around her is turned into a miasmic cauldron, the woman begins to scream and writhe, her flesh being eaten away by the Saryn's attack. The dakra clatters to the ground harmlessly as her fingers sizzle to stumps. Seconds later, she falls silent, and her body slumps to the ground. Other than the occasional involuntary twitch, she made no movements. It was hard to discern if she was still alive or not.

As the Trinity rushes him, the Inquisitor clenches his void-linked hand into a fist. Just as the warframe is about to reach him, an explosion materializes in front of them, burning them and sending them tumbling past him, rather than through him. He shakes his hand vigorously as small fires appear across it, his attention momentarily turned away...

______________

As the ship began to reach the limits of the exosphere, Marcus let himself fall back to the surface. He knew when he wasn't wanted.

"What exactly was your plan there?" Rose asked, her voice in much higher quality now that he was closer to his own ship, which was waiting in orbit.

Marcus rolled his eyes.

"Well, I was going to see if they had any wounded, and if they needed any immediate attention, but now I suspect they're fine."

"I'm inclined to agree." Rose said, "So, now what?"

"Well, I could wait for the pull of gravity to bring me back to the surface, critically damaging my warframe and likely placing me miles away from anything important, or you could bring my ship around and pick me up."

Several long seconds passed as Marcus silently stared at distance surface of mars growing ever closer.

"Umm... Rose?" he finally said.

"Yes?" she said innocently.

"Could you please pick me up?"

"Of course. All you had to do was ask politely."

That wasn't entirely fair. Last time they had been in this situation, she had still been getting used to the control of the liset, and he had been dragged back to the surface by gravity. For whatever reason, she got very touchy whenever it was brought up, which he didn't feel was entirely fair - she hadn't been the one to get returned to the planet's 'loving' embrace.

Marcus watched his slate-grey liset prime fly into view, slowing to his speed as it grew near. He grabbed on to the boarding door-slot-rotating thing and stepped inside the ship. Once he was aboard, the ship began to speed back towards the surface. Marcus stepped out of his warframe, walking over to Rose, who was operating the controls.

"Thanks for not letting me hit the ground again." he said with a grin.

She said nothing, giving him a wry look.

Marcus laughed, and the two shot off towards the battlefield.
