Mia's trigger finger jumped into position, her aim still keeping a lock on the inquisitor below in case he decides to go on a rampage on the civilians below. At the dispersing crowd she reached in and squeezed down on the bubbling noises of panic and fear; heightening their flight response and nudging them towards quickly making their way to cover, away from the inquisitor and sniper's line of sights. On the side of her HUD, the separate screen on the adjacent rooftop continues it's vigil, zooming in on the sniper and sending it's encrypted bursts to the connected cephalon; hoping that it's hopefully higher spec sensors will be able to make more details out.

The crowd quickly scattered as the gunshots rang out. The flagellant lay bleeding on the ground, and the sniper was nowhere to be seen.

Then..... a bullet flew past Mia, grazing her head. Judging by where it had traveled from, the sniper hadn't moved far - it would seem that despite his sophisticated cloaking systems, he had no tools to make him more mobile. He was no faster than the average human.

The Frost Staggered, somehow managing to stay upright on two injured knees. Soma rounds flew down the hall as the Frost returned fire.
Is he there? or is he only making me think he's there? Svytoj thought, the Frost hobbling forward, muzzle flash erupting from the end of the Soma.

Once again, the grineer building fell silent, save for the gunfire of Svytoj's rifle.

The frost looked at the Soma, then down the hall, then outside, letting the silence of the building sink in.
The Frost turned, firing into the sandy expanse outside the grineer building.

The sound of silicon and metal clanking against the floor was subtle. the pale blue and copper figure dashing down the hallways, grakatas at it's sides and a redeemer on it's back, obviously looking for something in its haste.

The figure clutched their head.
Why so much noise? Layer upon layer of this encrypted data. I need to find that terminal, before anymore interruptions come my way.
The figure could still hear the Soma fire, but just barely.

Mia stays completely still even as the shots fly past her, her shields flashing as it breaks from the high velocity rounds and one slightly rips a mild gash past her helmet.

"...Do you have a lock...?" Mia asks, her rifle sight still trained squared on the Inquisitor's keys, ready to fire at a moment's notice. A faint trickle of white begins to flow through the barrel of the gun in preparation. Bleeding or not, one never takes someone amped up by void keys at face value.

"Already on it, though your *eyes* certainly don't hurt~" The cheery voice crackles over the radio.

"...Do what you can, she'll stick with you until you can subdue them..." Mia whispers.

"I'll be sure to save you the head~" The boisterous voice gleefully replies, bloodlust tinging ever so over the comms. Up in the air, a figure runs out of their orbiter's hanger and dives straight down through the air, bearing down at the sniper at frightening speed. Down below on the rooftops, the smaller cloaked mass barrels into action, tracking down the sniper with unerring determination, with not even the sounds of their footprints being heard.

"I don't know how you people stand it here, this heat is something else." Marcus said, gratefully taking the drink. Once he had finished the glass, he stood up, nodded to the woman who had served him, and walked out the doors.

He had considered asking the bartender for information, but members of this Hierarchy didn't seem the types to fraternize in a pub. To risky to let information about their mission slip while drinking. However, there was one thing that a... Constable.... would need a steady supply of, given his supposed line of work.

Marcus walked down the main street of town, scanning the nearby shacks and tents for a gunsmith. Frontier towns like this always had one - there was quite the demand for them here, after all. But it wasn't guns that Marcus was interested in, it was ammo. Anyone operating in the region for an extended amount of time would need to go somewhere to refill their ammo reserves, and there were very few places where one could go do that. It was likely that the man Marcus was looking for had stopped at this town to purchase more ammunition. That was where Marcus would begin his search.

As Marcus continued down the street, a figure leaning in the shadow of the inn watched him. They wore a brown and black attire, with a hat tipped down so as to obscure the face. A variety of revolvers were strapped to their waist, and they they carried a veritable arsenal's worth of ammunition strapped to their person.

Marcus strode into the large tent the local gunsmith was operating out of. Weapons of dubious quality lined the stores - most were simply recovered grineer weapons, and looked like they'd seen better days. Very few guns looked like original work, and those that did were cobbled together out of cheap metal recovered from the nearest wreck.

Other than Marcus and the owner (who frowned slightly upon seeing Marcus enter), the only other person present was a man in his late-forties, scowling at the wares on display. Marcus' eyes were drawn to the custom-made vipers the man wore at his waist, lacking any scratches or signs of wear. Near the bottom of the pistols the name 'Vochester' was engraved. Marcus' eyebrows rose when he saw that. Vochester originals were rare, and unbelievably expensive. The famous gunsmith had long since gone into retirement, and his works were coveted by collectors everywhere. Even Marcus couldn't afford a weapon like that.

"These are trash," the man said, still scowling at the weapons on display.

"They're all you're going to find out here," the owner replied, crossing his arms.

"If you think I'm going to spend a single credit on this junk..." the man said

The owner gave a slight smirk. "I'm the only guy in town. Unless you intend on walking all the way to Tombstone or Dodge, you're stuck with these."

The man just spat and stormed out, grumbling. The owner sighed, shook his head, and gave Marcus a weary smile.

"How might I help you?" he said, "You're a bit young to be striking out into those wrecks, but I'm not one to judge. We all got to make ends meet somehow...."

He glanced outside, where the man was walking off angrily.

"Anyway," he said, turning his attention back to Marcus, "I assume you're looking for something to defend yourself out there. Well! I've got the perfect thing for y-"

"Actually," Marcus said, looking up to lock eyes with the owner, "I was wondering if a man calling himself the Constable had stopped by here recently."

"He did indeed. One of my regulars, in fact. Good man, never complains about the prices out here...." The owner replied.

"Any idea where he went?"

"Last I heard, he was heading to Dodge to root out a gang of bandits who had been preying on the salvage teams. Why are you interested in hi-"

Marcus had already bolted out the door, sprinting towards his rendezvous point with Rose. He'd be needing his frame for this.

The figure watching Marcus had disappeared, with no trace of them ever having been there.

He nodded solemnly. "Bound to happen eventually, I suppose. Still, shame to hear it."

"And, to be honest, holding a gun to your head tends to be safer than heading into one of those things."

Another glance around the room. "I don't suppose any other noteworthy info made it past the big news? I imagine there isn't much else to talk about after all that."

"Well, there's been an odd grineer drifting in and out of town. Goes out to the wrecks a lot, but never brings back any salvage. He's usually here around this time. Wonder why he decided to skip today...."

The frost looked at the Soma, then down the hall, then outside, letting the silence of the building sink in.
The Frost turned, firing into the sandy expanse outside the grineer building.
___
The sound of silicon and metal clanking against the floor was subtle. the pale blue and copper figure dashing down the hallways, grakatas at it's sides and a redeemer on it's back, obviously looking for something in its haste.

The figure clutched their head.
Why so much noise? Layer upon layer of this encrypted data. I need to find that terminal, before anymore interruptions come my way.
The figure could still hear the Soma fire, but just barely.

Behind the frost, a small pool of blood appeared on the rusted metal floor.

The flagellant began to rise, his limbs shaking with exertion. His wounds slowly began to close, the bullets clattering to the ground as they were pushed out of his chest. He slowly began to scan the rooftops for the sniper. He briefly stared at Mia, looking at her just long enough to indicate that he knew she was there, before continuing to look for his attacker.

The sniper is once again visible for a fraction of a second, and a bullet is sent flying towards the figure exiting with the orbiter. By now, he had changed buildings, and was doubtless prepared to move again after this shot.

No side arms, No redeemer, No other options.

This immediately had the frost's attention. The kubrow paused in her happy water-lapping to listen as well. "An odd grineer? And he's not with steel meridian?" He crossed his arms thoughtfully. "Well, I'll admit...that's more than a little odd. You said he usually stops by here around this time? I'll keep an eye out for him, thank you." He tossed a tip on the table and stood, giving the bartender a nod as he and his kubrow exited the bar.

"Guess we'd better get this over with," a voice said, its direction impossible to discern. "Before we do this though, this is your last chance to walk away. If you leave now, I won't pursue you."

The Frost looked around the area, trying to get a fix on the source. As for the voices ultimatum, a fresh magazine slamming into the Soma as the bolt reset was the Frost's only reply.

The freefalling figure pulls out a giant evil cleaving sword off it's back with gusto. Heaving it over it's head, it smashes the blade into the bullet flat end first with a BANG, sending the projectile straight back at the sniper's last position. Continuing it's spin, the frame lets go of the greatsword and somersaults feet first onto the Galatine;

Cutting the impromptu surfboard down through the wind currents, the figure unholsters a sparkling assault rifle into it's right hand and a massive handgun in it's left. Seconds before the blade impacts the rooftops, the frame coming into detail unloads with both weapons at the sniper's general area, peppering the area with rounds.

The bullet explodes on contact, engulfing the Valkyr in flames and causing the sword to fly backwards and hit her in the face. When she begins to blindly fire around the immediate area, her bullets met no resistance, embedding itself in the nearest object. The sniper had moved.

Behind Mia, a fang prime sailed through the air and buried itself in her shoulder. A gray nyx decloaked a few seconds later, arms crossed. Several more knives floated around her, being controlled by her mind.

The flagellant below clenched his fists when he saw the second nyx, his flail lashing out at the ground by its own volition.

As they exited the bar, a wave of hot air blasted them. The sun hung high in the sky, searing the land beneath it. In the distance, the sun hitting the dark-red sand created the illusion of water. The handful of people still in town had already taken shelter inside, making the town look deserted.

Two more rounds to the chest, one to the right shoulder, and another grazing the Frost's left shin.

The frost barely reacted, having weathered similar storms before. He glanced down at the kubrow, who panted up at him happily - on the warmer side for her, but bearable. He's probably sheltering somewhere else in this weather, he thought to himself, scanning the heat-distorted horizon for a moment. With luck, he'll be waiting out the heat wave in one of the wrecks.

He started off towards his ship. "{Vilkas, start up the engines,}" he said over the comms to his cephalon. Vilkas obliged, the grungy mantis idling and ready when he arrived, a small whoosh of cold air welcoming him as he and the kubrow entered.

"Long time no see, Operator. I figured you would be staying longer." ((note: if this color is hard to read, let me know, and I'll switch to a different one))
"Not leaving just yet," he responded as he headed for the navigation console. "We're doing a bit of searching. I need a better view of the wrecks, but not too close."
"Buckle in."

The mantis pulled up higher off the ground and started in the direction of the wrecks.

Once within walking distance of at least a couple ruins of ships, the frost again exited, this time climbing the nubs on the side of the hull ((I use the kuva skin)) to sit atop it, using a scanner to search the area for life signs.

The flagellant below clenched his fists when he saw the second nyx, his flail lashing out at the ground by its own volition.

Mia slowly gets up to her feet and pulls the lodged knife out of her visible shoulder with her left hand as she faces the Nyx, the slightest tinge of black and red tinging the blade as the wound is being forcibly held together before fading from view. The helmet remains inscrutable as ever as with all helmets, but even without visible eyes the grey lapdog would be able to read the mood like a strobe light at midnight. Underneath the golden an white frame an aura of icy cold killing intent flashes across the rooftops, creating microcracks everywhere and creating tension so thick you could cut it in half with a brick.

The Fang P still in her hand, Mia deliberately and forcefully crushes it bit by bit; metal and plastic being unnaturally bent and twisted like a piece of paper through her fingers and into her palm before ending up into a a small ball of slag. White glowing over her left hand, Mia tips the ball down and lets it fall to her feet whereupon she quietly raises a foot and stomps the former knife into a pancake shaped disc. The intent the grey Nyx would pick up would be unmistakable by even the dullest tool in the Hierarchy shed.

You got a clean shot in, but didn't manage to make sure I stayed dead. You won't get another chance.

Immediately after, Mia bullet jumps into the opposite direction, and breaks into a terminator-esque sprint away from the Nyx over the rooftops, legs pumping madly

From the top of the small inferno, the Valkyr P comes flying out like a surfer riding on the explosion wave's crest, the frame completely planked on the greatsword without a seeming care in the world. As the Valkyr continues her arc upwards, the top of one of her feet reaches down and flicks the Galatine's handle upward with no effort, sending it flipping precariously in a way that would make a sword juggler gasp before finally sliding back onto the Valkyr's back. Moments before it's feet touch the ground, the white and gold cat lets out a bloodcurdling roar that shakes the roofs and rattles the walls. Though the sniper may be cloaked, the effects of the thu'um shout permeates the entire immediate vicinity, capable of pulling even the most weighed down clone trooper off their feet and grab a mouthful of dirt as they go tumbling after the sprinting Valkyr, now making a beeline for the cloaked Nyx P.

More and more bullets continued to fly in every direction, reaching a ridiculous amount - the sound was deafening, and the nearby walls were riddled with dents.

The Frost tried deploying a globe, more rounds hitting their marks. More rounds were spat from the soma's barrel as the floor began to creep with ice.
_______________
The intruder took his position on the roof, the sights on his Vectis trained on the battle below. He could see the rounds hitting the Frost, but he couldn't make out who was doing the shooting.
What Am I looking at here?

The figure continued to flit from room to room, ears trained on the battle behind him. Finally, he found what he was looking for: an old Grineer terminal. He made a beeline for the terminal, checking to see if it was still functioning.

"Well," the grey Nyx replied mentally, her voice chorusing in Mia's head, "My... keepers.... so rarely let me out of my cage. I'd hate for this to end before I'm finished stretching my legs."

The grey Nyx plucked one of the knives that were orbiting around her out of the air and began to twirl it between her fingers lazily, not sparing Mia a glance as she fled. She even turned her back to the duo to inspect the fang prime in the light.

"I must say, out of all of those I brought into the fold, this one I enjoyed breaking the most. I wonder, what was it in the end that finally made her mind capitulate?"

The chillingly familiar voice echoed inside Mia's mind.

The sniper is dragged toward the Valkyr, but he managed to twist in midair and turn her roar into a void-propelled shoulder bash. He hits Aria with enough force to send her tumbling, but his attention is immediately directed elsewhere. Without sparing the valkyr a second glance, he raised his sniper rifle and aimed it at the grey Nyx.
