Clan Emblem Sizing

Question

I have a few questions concerning about getting the right criteria for submitting a clan emblem. I have put together an picture that I want and save it as a .png file.

  1. How do I check the size of the file?
  2. How do I change the size if it's not correct?
    • Do I need a special editor program or can I do it in Paint?
  3. What is the correct size to be submitted?
  4. Is there a preview (to check lightning, etc.) before submission?

Thanks in advance

Gimp has a steep learning curve, but it's okay if you just want to resize things.  In the 'Scale Image' dialog, make sure the 'Interpolation' option is 'Cubic' or 'Linear'.

Also, make sure your original image is square, because if you resize something that's not square to 128x128 then it will be squished vertically or horizontally.

Do not use Paint to scale an image.  It does not do any interpolation and the result will be crappy.

Yes, but it lies about how bright your emblem will actually appear.  A good rule of thumb is to get it to look how you want, and then apply a flat dim of 190/255 to the whole image.  I can't tell you how to do this in Gimp.
