Status proc symbol for gas

I've been experimenting with status attacks and one little oddity has caught my eye :-) 

When gas procs it inflicts toxin damage; this seems to mean that the status inflicted symbol on the affected mob shows the skull and crossed bones of toxin. So does this mean that it is impossible to see the gas proc symbol?

Hardly a game changer, I know, but it confused me for a little while as I was convinced I'd failed to proc gas when I thought I had

all gas is is an AOE toxin...also one that doesnt refresh as often as flat out toxin can (from my recent testing). There actually isnt a symbol...just a sound of gas releasing.

The initial damage from the Gas Proc is the total gas damage on your weapon, but the DoT amount just depends on the toxin damage on your weapon (hence, the toxin sign).

There is a Gas status symbol but it's not on the enemy,  It's tagged to the damage which proced the Gas effect.

@Xzorn Brilliant yes, that is what I was after, the little gas mask symbol...I probably need to run it at slow speed in captura to see it given my ageing reactions lol!
