Improve Conclave Passives

Ash - Hemorrhage
Hemorrhage inflicts bleed procs on opponents when Ash lands any hits with a Nikana.
The bleed procs deals three ticks of three damage directly to health, for a total of nine that stacks on repeat procs.
This is an incredibly arbitrary and restrictively specific passive; I can only imagine a marginal thematic justification.
Furthermore, Hemorrhage is actually broken; it is presently applying to indirect hits (slam AoE) and even bullet jumps.
Hemorrhage should be reworked. Ash could receive one second of invisibility when knocked down, or his spawn invulnerability could also grant invisibility.

Ember - Ignition
Ignition regenerates two energy per second for Ember while she is afflicted by a heat proc.
While not necessarily a problematic passive, this is rarely a relevant one.
It might be better to replace Ignition with a passive that gives Ember a slightly higher energy cap, say 120.

Frost - Cryogenic
Cryogenic inflicts a cold proc on anyone who hits Frost with melee (or bullet jumps).
Cold procs slow down both movement speed and animation speed (for melee swings); the practical effect of Cryogenic is that Frost is impossible to attack with melee.
It's an incredibly powerful passive.
Either cold procs should not affect melee attack speed, or Cryogenic should only apply when hitting either Frost's shields or his health, but not both.

Harrow - Conviction
Conviction grants Harrow an increased overshields capacity, up to something like 1000 overshields.
Again, not problematic, but incredibly irrelevant. Practically speaking, the only source of overshields is Overcharged, which only grants up to 50 per life.
95% of Conviction goes to waste.
I'd prefer Harrow to spawn with 10 to 15 free overshields per life.

Limbo - Rift Walk
Rift Walk allows Limbo players to sit around in matches, twiddling their thumbs.
This passive is a miserable fit for Conclave.
Allow 50% damage through the Rift, or make the Rift drain 5 shields/hp per second from any player inside it.

Nova - Explosive Counter
When Nova is knocked down, Explosive Counter creates a 6m AoE that deals 20-25 damage and knocks down all opponents.
Explosive Counter's range, damage, and utility is simply too good for a zero-input ability; it over-rewards getting knocked down.
Furthermore, because Nova recovers control first in this situation, Nova players might actually be incentivized to deliberately receive knockdowns.
Explosive Counter should either not deal damage, or affect only the player who triggered it.

Nyx - Relinquish
Relinquish has a chance to disarm anyone affected by Nyx's abilities, in PvE. Nothing happens in Conclave.
Nekros's Desecrate allows the caster to briefly see desecrated players through walls (upon respawn).
Relinquish could be redesigned to grant Nyx a shorter-lived version of this, or it could hide her current health/shields from opponents.

Wukong - Tenacity
Tenacity increases Wukong's combo counter timer.
There's no combo counter in Conclave.
In keeping with the spirit of "Tenacity", Wukong could receive a small amount of shields per kill (15), or have a slightly lower shield recharge delay (10%).

Gara - Unknown
Gara's PvE passive is expected to be some form of radial blind which occurs when she stands in light.
That would be absurd in Conclave. Maybe Martyrdom instead.

Additional Notes:

Spoiler

The in-game descriptions for the following frames' passives are incorrect:
Ash, Ember, Inaros, Limbo, Mesa, Mirage, Nidus, Nyx, Oberon, Trinity

The in-game descriptions for the following frames' passives are misleading:
Banshee, Frost, Hydroid, Nekros, Valkyr

Finally:
There are many passives, some of which are difficult to test.
This post is based off the information available in the Conclave abilities document and is accurate to the best of my knowledge, which is embarrassingly extensive.
Still, mistakes are not impossible, and evidence-based corrections are welcome.

Alternative:

Fix it to no longer apply on bulletjumps and slam aoe, only direct hits from the melee weapon. Expand the arsenal of weapons it works on, perhaps making it apply the bleed if the melee weapon has Slash as part of it's damage?

I think a better alternative would be to give bleed procs on throwing stars/knives instead.

Ash throws a shuriken, which is a throwing star. Why is his passive for a longsword?

Well, why not then expand the passive to the whole ninja arsenal (according to TVTropes) ?

  • 4 weeks later...

ash's passive in particular reminds me of the many changes to Excal's passive and blade.

Some time back, they buffed Single hand swords and nerfed Excal's passive to incentis usage and be less deterring in selection.
these passives that stem from poor core concept  are poor, ember is silly and pretty much says to take Javlok.
Trin's passive in conclave makes more conceptional sense then the passive description written for Co-op.(gg)
what a mess, one of many, how do you people push on likee this x.x
