Phoenix86
So... we are aware of the power creep that "Armor Ignoring" feat is making in the current meta, basically privileging weapons that have this feature over the rest. So my question was: "How to make non-Armor Ignoring weapons more powerful without increasing the power of Armor Ignoring ones and therefore the Gap between them?" And here is the answer: Heavy Rounds mod: Polarity: - Starting cost to equip: 6 Levels: 5 Cost once maxed: 11 Effect: 20-30-40-50-60% of enemy's total armor is ignored. Description: Your weapon ignores a fixed amount of target's armor thanks to new special overheated ammunitions that can partially melt and pass through enemy's armor. This way all weapons that deal normal dmg will be more effective and scale better against enemy's level while totally un-affecting already Armor Ignoring weapons like Kunai, Boltor, Paris which have a value of 100% ignore. Obviously this mod will apply to any kind of weapon (rifles, shotguns, pistols...). What do you think about it?
Fatalityyy
WIth 60% nearly noone would use a AI Weapon anymore, with 40% okay but not more. Just to give a hint why = Gorgon/Supra Edited July 25, 2013 by Fatalityyy
Lumireaver
I'm rather fond of using blunt weapons and/or armor piercing mods to inflict an 'armor break' status effect or something more along those lines. One topic where such a mechanic is discussed. (There are more, but I can't find them.)
AureusVulpes
I'll just leave this here. https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/85866-making-all-weapons-useful-at-high-lvs-armor-ignore-mod/ Note: this was less than an hour ago. aTaVaX
Corrosive projection is an aura and already does this. no need for a mod to also do it. Edited July 25, 2013 by aTaVaX
Aizeol
I had a similar thought to this. The mod itself looks good. As long as armor ignore weapons aren't given more damage, and the mod itself doesn't add damage, I can see this working.

aTaVaX
imho who would equip corrosive projection when there is energy siphon... an ember. or any frame that has damaging abilities that a effected by armor or that has to rely on their weapons to kill enemies... 4 corrosive projection probably wouldn't be good, but of a group of 4, 2 corrosive and 2 energy siphon would probably make al ot of sense. You have to keep in mind corrosive projection increases damage from abilities and every kind of weapon especially at higher levels. And the highest dps primaries, the supra and dera for example, don't have armor ignore. Edited July 25, 2013 by aTaVaX
Xylia
So basically instead of Armor Piercing, you'd be forced to stick Armor Ignore on instead. Same friggin difference, they both basically do the same thing: It is a Must-Have Mod if you want anything that doesn't fire bolts/knives/arrows to actually do damage at late level. I'd rather they actually tweak enemy armor rather than giving us MORE mods that we have to collect and level to bypass the horribly designed Armor System. A lot of us lowbies don't have potatoes and forma in every weapon, nor should we need such just to make a weapon viable past Earth. Seriously.
