Khora's Kit Ideas

Just brainstorming about our upcoming feline fatale. Can't wait to try her out! I'd imagine she would have quite a bit of inter-kit synergy, with emphasis on close-quarter/melee playstyle using combo attacks. Mainly thinking about her abilities, no idea about stats just yet.

Passive: Animal Affinity - Khora's base health is increased by 20 for every allied Companion within her Affinity Range. For every Companion-assisted kill, Khora receives 10 energy. Sphinx (her summoned Kavat) is considered a Companion for this passive.

  1. Bludgeon/Impale/Lacerate (25 energy) - tap 1 to cycle-select Impact, Puncture and Slash damage types for all powers. Hold 1 to change to selected type for both Khora and her Kavat. Once selected, the next attack from weapons and abilities guarantees a proc of that damage type, and both Khora and her Kavat get increased status chance on weapons and abilities for a duration.
    • Affected by Ability Strength (status chance buff %) and Ability Duration (status chance buff duration).
    • Khora and her Kavat change appearances depending on the newly selected damage type.
  2. Thrash (25 energy) - Khora briefly summons her whip, lashing out at enemies with different techniques depending on her current damage type: Impact = spins the whip around her, dealing damage and knocking back enemies, Puncture = forward lash in a line that deals damage, has innate punch-through and pulls enemies toward her, and Slash = sweeps the whip in an arc in front of Khora, dealing damage and staggering enemies on hit. If Sphinx is active, casting Thrash will cause her to perform special attacks based on the damage type: Impact = 360 degree spin, dealing damage and knocking back enemies with her tail, Puncture = bullet jump through enemies and reducing enemy armor, and Slash = swipe her claws blinding enemies facing her.
    • Thrash is combo-based, similar to Atlas' Landslide. Repeated casts in succession improves damage (which in turn improves the status effect potency), increases the range of the whip and Sphinx's area of effect, and reduces the cost of Thrash. Up to 3 times for a complete combo.
    • Each hit with Thrash adds to your melee combo counter.
    • Affected by Ability Strength (damage dealt, Sphinx armor reduction %), Ability Range (whip initial range, Sphinx special attack radius), and Ability Duration (combo window, Sphinx armor reduction duration, blind duration).
    • If Khora's 4th ability whip is active, Thrash will benefit from melee damage mods and the melee combo counter, boosting its damage further.
  3. Sphinx (75 energy) - summons a mechanical Kavat near Khora for a duration. Sphinx is an exalted cat that is affected by Kavat and Companion mods on your equipped Companion. Her damage type matches Khora's currently selected one. Depending on the damage type selected (by cycling the wheel via tapping 1, does not have to be Khora's currently used damage type!), Khora can issue different attack patterns to Sphinx: Impact = charge and knockdown enemies, Puncture = bite and disarm enemies, and Slash = swipe to cleave multiple enemies with her claws.
    • Affected by Ability Strength (Sphinx damage and health pool), Ability Range (Sphinx charge distance, swipe cleave radius), and Ability Duration (Sphinx duration).
    • Like Kavats and Kubrows, Sphinx teleports back to Khora if too far away. Alternatively, you can resummon Sphinx with a recast.
    • Hopefully improved Companion AI ships with this.
    • Being a summoned pet, Sphinx has a higher threat level than Khora to aid her survivability. Also high evasion (enemy attacks less accurate on her) when on the move.
  4. Ravage (50 energy, 2.5 energy per second) - Khora equips her whip as her melee weapon. The whip has IPS damage distribution depending on her currently selected damage type: 50% of selected damage type, 25% and 25% for the other two types, 15% status chance, 25% critical chance, 2.5 critical multiplier.
    • Alt-fire button performs a special attack: for 25 energy Khora can extend her whip up to 10 / 11 / 12 / 15 meters away to entangle a target enemy for 5 seconds, during which Khora becomes invisible while disabling the target from moving or attacking. If Sphinx is active, she will prioritize attacking the victim with a melee finisher attack. Entangle is a one-handed action and Khora can still move around while a target is tied up. Moving out of range, toggling off Ravage, using quick melee attack, or using alt-fire button again on a different target will untie the victim and break Khora out of stealth.
    • If a victim is entangled, using Thrash will flail the victim around with it ragdolled and attached to the end of Khora's whip, then it is released when Thrash ends.
      • Affected by Ability Strength (whip damage), Ability Range (entangle range), and Ability Duration (entangle/cloak duration).
      • Whip is affected by melee mods, including base damage, physical damage, elemental damage, melee range, status chance, critical chance, critical multiplier, and channeling effect. Like other melee exalted weapons, Ravage is not affected by specific types of mods like Maiming Strike, Syndicate weapon augment mods, etc.
      • Hits with the whip adds to the melee combo counter, and the whip itself is affected by the counter as well.

But, we'll see about that when we see Khora on this Friday's devstream!
