Index Endurance 2.0: Revisiting John Prodman

   To start the insight on the topic from both ends of the game's experience the Idex Endurance mission may need more awareness. John Prodman is the special boss that spawns after a hour of the mission running and it is a great achievement in the game to defeat them to get the special poster 'John Prodman's Signature'. There are still plenty of players who have went to the challenge and those who have not achieved it nor have they heard of this piece of content. For the Index Endurance mission there are two areas for the players and devs to look at.

   Transparency of the challenge can bring more challenge seeking. If players are going to this mission for the Credits and any upgrades, then they may want to be fully aware of the challenge should players continue. Other features can be added such as another Leaderboard for the event, a in-mission timer to show how long the time passed in the session, a record of the signatures acuired when viewing the mission's detail box, and dialogue added for John Prodman to announce shortly before they spawn. These different features would bring more exploration for the mission from the long term players and the newer players. The new features or other methods being added can be decided if it would improve the experience of playing the Index Endurance or would it be left for discreet discussion among players. As for that choice comes the other idea to reflect on.

   The hour mark in the Index Endurance is interesting for some crowds. For a pool of the overall player base it is possible to continue to achieve the hour time and defeat the boss John Prodman, even when the warframes, weapons, and mechanics are changed. On the other hand there is still the other group of the player base who do not understand the purpose of infinite scaling enemies and why the different loadouts are used to keep going in endless missions. That crowd continues to push for every weapon and Warframe that is impressive to be debuffed to tailor their perspective and / or demands in the PvE part of the game. If their demands and constantly meet to debuff everything in the game from time to time, then should the experience of spawning and fighting John Prodman change? The hour spawn time would be narrowed down to smaller strategies to reach it, based on the current and long term changes in the game. Either keeping the boss to spawn at the hour mark would show more players a avenue of fighting infinite scaling enemies with a exclusive reward or it would be hindered by the changes to put a glass ceiling at level 30 or 100 enemies. For either side of the debate of the player base it would have to be decided to keep John Prodmand to spawn at 60 minutes into Index Endurance, change how they spawn and include the change in the patch notes for all of the platforms after being tested before being implimented in a patch, or should acquiring the reward slowly disappar from the grasp of players like the opportunity to buy Exacalibur Prime Access on the Pc when Warframe started. This second point is what is considered in updating the arena mission.

   In all, the Index Endurance can be improved with some features and flexability should players want to go for the challenge of the award. It may seem overarching from one post; but looking into the possible changes can enhance the experience of the mission or it's type. Furthermore it can be a great project to reflect on from improving should it improve the player activity and have mechanics to work with in other areas of the game currently and to be added.
