How did i end up with so many void traces?

Yesterday i ran an excavation mission, a lowere level one to level up a new frame, i had like 80-100 traces going in. After we cracked open like 4-5 relics, i went in without one equipped, then i died, ran out of revives so i didnt abandon the game and kept watchin  while other squad members completed the mission. In the end i had almost 400-450 void traces (!!!). Was it because of the unequipped ones?Still figurin out the relic system, thanks.

Each completion gives void traces and it does so even if you have no relic on you at all. They are basically a base reward separate from opening relics.

trace count isalso affected by resource booster and smeeta kavat charms ( if Im not wrong )
