Tip for Forum Mods

Instead of simply closing a thread about performance issues (ie server instability), perhaps a post in General should be stickied for a short time so people we see that, and not just start up a new thread.

I understand why a thread like that needs to be shut down. Otherwise, people will just make upteen-sextillion posts and clog the system even more. However, simply letting it get buried is counter-productive. Now people don't see that DE knows about it, and will just make more posts....which will require mods to lock those and start the process all over again.

While General is not formally made for Announcements, the Announcement section is seldom looked at. So, an intelligent idea is to sticky news about major issues (like servers being down, or login issues) in General (where most people go when things like this happen) for a short time frame. This would not only get the information out to the majority of players, but also prevent a mass of re-posts of the same questions (like: "Are they actually working on the servers?").
