Alerts no longer give credit for uncompleted map areas?

A recent change I've noticed is that doing alerts in uncompleted areas no longer gives you credit for doing them. For the higher level planets that people rarely go to, this was a life saver for clearing areas like interception missions. I was just wondering why this was removed?

I'd guess so people couldn't hopscotch through the solar system and sidestep the junctions/normal progress trees?

What do you mean? Even before you could only do alerts in areas that were already unlocked for you to do as a mission.

I don't want to sound too insensitive but we've all been there and we managed to do it. If there is an interception bring specters, you probably got a lot from capture missions. Consider yourself lucky, we didn't even have specters when I started playing 4 years and a half ago.
