My Only Real Beef With Forma

When i reset a the level on something and level it back up I expect to get credit for leveling it up.

Mastery XP, profile saying i now have 60 levels in my rhino, etc. Even if it's at 50% xp for a forma'd anything it's a nice reward for someone who, say, only really plays one of 3 frames unless he has to. Same goes for weapons.

It's the same concept when people prestige in COD games. Only you get nothing but a polarization slot and then grinding out 30 levels just to be back where you were. Nothing else given. And considering Forma is mostly a cash shop item with the occasional login or alert reward bp it should give you the xp.

 

That makes no logical sense.

 

The concept is totaly different. In CoD people prestige to get shinier picture next to their level and to unlock more pictures behind their name. Also its a psychological trap to keep people playing long enough via progression, even if repeated, until the next map pack dlc.

 

Warframe gives you ability to pump in more mods into the weapon/warframe by using forma, which you can get from Void quite easily.

 

Why would you want to get Mastery XP for it? To not use any other weapons and forma your favorite weapon/warframe over and over to get maximum Mastery?

Duh?

It's the fact of the matter, you get one polarity slot, nothing more. No other even visual cookie that says that the weapon you just essentially leveled to 60 (90, or even 120 in some cases) is any different or better than the jo-schmo who just leveled to 30.

 

As for mastery being considered as a way to "explore variety" I say this? Pull your head out and breath. Mastery is essentially the leveling system that all major unlocks are based around. Thus making it so that if you want to say, use the new clan weapons? I mean, honestly just try out shooting one of them? You have to grind to rank 7. For a lot of people this means using frames and weapons you hate in order to get there to try out a weapon that you have to craft, all to see if you even like it.

 

Seriously, why does it matter if one person uses every gun and frame in the game and someone else used 4 frames and 5 guns and they both hit the same mastery? They both put in time and effort leveling and should be rewarded as such.

A silver star that only I can see, and that in the long run does nothing but not it's been forma'd once.

Like anyone else who puts effort into something I want a reward from it aside from the initial reset reward. It's in essence a form of prestige. Call it what you want if you look into it enough, that's what it is. There should be either an xp reward or a visual ta-da reward for hitting 30 again with the same weapon.

Be awesome if they did what they did with the old Mod V1.0 System where you had lights showing the number of mods on said weps for Formas. I forma'd my Lato 5 times (Boredom.) and I'd love to actually visually see the hard work I did to do that. Instead of having Stars in the mod page, on top of that I honestly don't feel rewarded formaing any of my items as it brings me back to Point B only to go back to Point A in a sense. The whole idea of formaing is derpy to me and I feel it could have been postponed till the game had more features and a honest demand for this option, yeah it's nice to change that crappy polarity on my frame. But the fact that now people are forcing the idea of "You have to forma this to make it work!" stuff down your throat is more a problem then a solution imo. Too many aspects on enemy's need to be fixed still no point in making us any stronger while the AI becomes dumber.

Exactly. If i'm going to reset something in order to slightly increase it's abilities once i max it back out there should be something to show for it aside from the polarity. A visual, xp, even color or pattern reward. Hell, even like a small badge barely noticeable on the warframe or gun you're using.

DGwar i do not understand why decent intelligent people like you make posts. What you say makes sense. Common sense. It needs balancing because when you polar a weapon it reaches it potential earlier than it previously did allowing you to play at higher level a lot sooner but to get the replies you have from something that seems so simple to read and understand literally astounds me. 

 

To reach mastery rank 11 you are pretty much forced into leveling every useless boring melee weapon in the game. You are being forced into making your game less fun by doing this. If you have favorite weapons why shouldn't you level them again and gain some form of mastery xp? This doesn't ruin your game experience as they are your favorites anyway and you like to use them.

 

Digital Extremes do not make money when you polar. Not directly anyway. It keeps you playing and the longer you play the more chance they have that you will buy platinum. They make money from you buying old and new weapons to gain mastery. This is why we do not get mastery xp for polarizing.

 

As for the people who replied to you. I don't know if these people have extremely low IQ's. Are extremely bad baby trolls. Fan boys. It is beyond me how someone can attempt to put you down on a thought that sounds to me so simple. Maybe its me and you who have low IQ's. Yes, this must be it. We are the stupid minority. Yeah. I completely agree with this whole post. The current Mastery System gives me NO incentive to go past Rank 4, don't get me wrong, I'd love to get to rank 7 and build a loogie shooter and Lanka. But I hardly have the patience to rank every random thing I see just to get to a point where I have to spend 14 days to build 2 weps. Mastery System needs a overhaul imo or just needs to give you something to actually make you want to increase your mastery, as tbh Sobek and Despair do everything any Dojo Research ever will imo. Not to mention every Prime wep doesn't need a specific Mastery.

Also, if you think that, you are missing the point and what DE claims that the mastery ranking system is. The mastery ranking is supposed to reflect the grade of universal knowledge in combat of the Tenno (one of the few things that has some actual lore about how the Tenno worked as a society). So remastering the same weapon would add nothing to that..... if they gave out more mastery xp for each polarization it would break the ide behind the system (+rank = More experienced Tenno, +knowledge about all gear/the game), people could just abuse it and also that would ignite the Flaming Wars :P.
