Why do people qualify their posts?

Almost every complaint I see the OP usually adds things like.

"I love DE, but.."

"DE is a great company, but.. "

"I really love the game, but.."

Why do you do this? Do you think it's going to change people's opinion about your complaint?

You are complaining. Everyone gets it. Explain.

Because they want to feel like their opinion actually carries weight when it doesn't

It's them setting up a wall so that if people jump at them for saying something that people dislike they can step back behind that 'wall' and say 'but I didn't mean it like that' even if they did mean it like that.

So this must be where I go wrong on this forum. Because I will actively and strongly disagree with them anyway.

Love DE, but...I love cake even more.

DE is a great company, but...they don't make cakes, which takes them down a few notches for me.

I really love the game, but...there's no cake decoration to go with that Orokin tea set. Cake Umbra when, DE?
