mindlord0013
Spoiler Version 2 Spoiler First rendition of a visual representation of the timeline of the Warframe universe. Probably some mistakes here and there, but I tried to source every single fact on there. I also posted this to the reddit, but thought people would appreciate it on here as well. Feltal
Your timeline is a little off. The Warframes were created before the Zariman children were sent into the void.
mindlord0013
17 minutes ago, Feltal said: Your timeline is a little off. The Warframes were created before the Zariman children were sent into the void. Not so, according to the Excalibur Prime codex entry. To paraphrase: " The Sentients had won... We took the twisted few that had returned from that place. We built a frame around them, a conduit of their affliction." EDIT: As a friend has pointed out, the internal lore for Warframe is a bit inconsistent regarding whether the Warframes came before or after the Tenno. The Quest lore is probably a bit more accurate than the codex lore, especially such an old codex entry. Regardless, the Warframes were definitely created during the Old War. Koldraxon-732
The Warframes began initial production as Helminth-afflicted warriors - biological drones obeying Orokin rule, but eventually revolting out of poor treatment, and were destroyed by Sentients. Then the Orokin turned to the Void after several failed attempts and pulled the Tenno from it, leveraging their abilities to augment the now-hollow Helminth-Infested golems with a delusion of humanity and sapience. After, the Orokin perfect these crude surrogates as Warframes, eventually re-decorating them and releasing them as their Primes, to give the Tenno a sense of superheroism despite the terror they displayed. Sometime amidst the darker early days of the War, the Tenno resorted to bastardizing the Orokin designs, making cheap, low-cost Warframes which retained the delusions of sapience the first Primes had (which would give explanation to Lotus claiming the Chroma Warframes were last seen during the Old War and why they could work without the Operators thereafter). Sometime between that point and now, the Umbras* - the mightiest of the Dax, were caught by Ballas and used, willingly or not, to create a series of privately owned, privately commanded Warframes - each with their memories preserved, but with a terrifying or glorious moment held with great importance. *A fellow Tenno believes that the first name of any Dax is their rank, but Isaah does not sound like a rank, but we could easily tell that he was a fresh Dax - a recruit. Teshin is more of a captain-commander, but Umbra? Umbra is the Master Chief - the Doomguy - among the elite few of the Dax. Also, it wasn't the Orokin who wanted the Tenno dead, it was the Sentients and Ballas because they saw us as a threat. The Orokin saw us as saviours... until we destroyed them, all of them**, for their hideous crimes against the people of the System. Stalker, a specialized but low-ranking Dax-turned-Umbra 'lite', witnessed this heresy and swore to hunt us down. ...How will Stalker and Teshin react to Umbra? Edited July 10, 2018 by Koldraxon-732 **This, of course, was a false truth; we Tenno had learned thanks to Cephalon Fragments and the Queens that Orokin do not die.
