Grineer Mace/flail!

Got several requests for this over the past two weeks hope you like it.

 

the brutality and blunt force trauma of this weapon really said, "Grineer" to me so that's what I went with. Whats going on with this one you ask? This weapon is basically a grenade at the end of a chain, at the end of a stick. It uses one over those illuminated lazer cables, that the bows, and the Lectus use

 

Ok so during normal swings it is a fixed mace. but during the charge attack, the head disconnects becoming a Flail. you execute a few spins, spooling up air through an internal turbine, and BOOM the air is super heated and the final swing creates a small explosion with knockdown power and Blast damage, so not only have you crushed their greedy little skull, but have burned their face beyond all recognition!

 

on normal attacks it should be an impact/puncture weapon. doing a good deal of both, but very little slash damage. probably a weapon the Grineer heavies could wield so they don't have to use those puny stun batons anymore.

1.I usually sketch out the ideas on paper.

2. trace or completely create the line art in SAI

3. color everything in Photoshop.

....dang, my Tenno Mace-Flail does just the opposite with the extended on normal attacks and retracted on charged, without the explosions. And with less clean art...

I must say i really like your weapon designs, especially the katana and disposable mace, very grineerish :D

i would personally like something more simple. chains cable. no energy stuff. i think it would be weird on a weapon for bludgeoning

Why not put a little turbine (like the one on the new armor) on the head of the mace? It could have a cool spinny air intake effect as it charged up.

+1 for the Kanabo and the Tomahawk. I feel that the Grineer mace has become obsolete, since we now have the Atterax, which is basically the same weapon.
