Well, whatever is your reason for not ever "hearing" about listen-server, I won't judge you.
But for the sake of education, here is a link to teach you how to self-educate yourself, alongside even more links that leads to various places telling about listen-servers:
    http://lmgtfy.com/?iie=1&q=Listen+Server

(( And yes, I did look up my question of this thread before-hand; the results were pretty much non-existing; hence I made this information-inquiring-thread. ))

    Well, as I said...

Well, thing is: People go to court a lot all because of semantics.

Heck, come to any country part of European-Union and you will be bombarded with stories that were all about semantics:
E.G. there is this product "mixed-butter"-product called "Voimariini" (which was a "portmanteau" of "voi" (butter) and "margarine") that was forced to be renamed  because this "butter" was not 100% milk-fat.
This is the same product today under the "new"-name: https://www.valio.ee/en/products/butter/valio-oivariini-75-400g )

And yet some people still find it strange that we decided to leave the EU; to each their own, I guess.

Based on the definitions from the Wikipedia page on game servers, I'm not convinced that Warframe operates a pure Listen server model. It seems to incorporate features of both Listen server and Peer-to-Peer, the fact that host migration can happen being evidence of this.

  2. I'm happy with the current hosting model.

95%++ of public missions run smoothly with no problems at all, and DE can spend the money that dedicated hosting would have cost on developing things that actually impact my play, like new content.

If you're going to argue semantics of peer-to-peer vs listen-server (whatever that is, it's not a term I've ever heard used before), then at least provide an authoritative source for your definitions. But frankly I don't see the point of arguing such semantic details.

This taxi abusing is really terrible, sometimes a region chat looks like a garbage dump, non-stop spamming "Need a taxi" from moochers is really annoying.

There are chat filters now, learn how to use them and this won't be a problem for you any longer.

Personally I don't see anything wrong with taxis, especially now that the player doesn't get the node unlocked permanently.

What it really is about is not having to rank it up 0 - 30 3-5 times just to get a feel for if you want to keep it--let alone actually investing into it.

As someone else mentioned earlier in the thread, just give players the ability to freely apply potatoes and forma in the Simulacrum, you could even let players try out weapons and warframes they don't own yet.

That would give players the ability to 'try before they buy' without cutting into DE's revenue (3 forma bundles are the best selling item in the market).

Someone also said it should be happening all the time to others... well it kinda does, this is the most extreme example I've had, but this is not the 1st time this has happened to me, to others in my clan and going by other posters, other players...

That's the point that others have been making and you seem to be failing to understand, your situation is an extreme example, and there will often be extreme examples in any random distribution. That doesn't disprove its true (pseudo)randomness.

There will be literally hundreds of thousands of players running the new relics at the moment, of course in a sample size that large some people will be having extreme bad luck.

You can't use forum posts as any sort of measure, do you expect players to make posts saying "my drops are roughly what I expected them to be"?

Extreme examples will always be the most visible, and that's even without taking confirmation bias into account.

Say you do 20 rounds of a mission and get 15 gold.

Then do 20 rounds of another mission and get all bronze.

Compleatly ignoring the fact that you've altered the latter to have statistically higher chance to get gold...

What would be the statistical conclusion you would have to come to?

Because that's what I'm looking at.

You've not given enough information for anyone to make a valid statistical conclusion.

Were you running solo, public or pre-made?

If not solo, what were the relics the others were running (intact, radiant, etc.)?

I haven't really tried the Braton. It's low burst and low DPS was off putting to me as I was making builds in Warframe Builder.

Don't discount the Braton Prime purely for its DPS numbers, 20% status is huge for an assault rifle, especially if you throw some dual-stat elementals on as well.

As if DE hasn't released a bunch of easy to craft weapons since Hema or frames to craft since Vauban. Get over it already. DE will create hard to craft items every now and then. Just deal with it

    You're missing the OP's point.

It has nothing to do with how easy or hard any individual item is to research or craft.

By all means, if you still have resource needs for research or crafting then take full advantage of double resource weekends to get that done quicker; but using a double resource weekend to stockpile extra resources 'just in case' as insurance against future costs just ensures that future costs will be even higher for everyone.

I missed on Trinity Prime early last year

Trinity Prime hasn't been vaulted yet (she's next, in about three months time, along with Dual Kamas Prime and Kavasa Kubrow Prime Collar).

Do you have a source for that statistic? I'd be interested to see current usage stats for warframes, companions and weapons.

Are people really still whining about the Hema research cost six months later? If you put half of the energy you've spent stewing and whining about the number of Mutagen Samples needed into actually farming those samples, you'd have it by now. Get over it.

I do have the Hema, I've had it for months now.

It still doesn't change the fact that I think the costs are too high and should be reduced.

Well I take pleasure in other people's suffering TBH.

It's sad to see that this is the sort of attitude that DE are 'honouring'.

I was curious just who would be selfish enough to insist that others must endure the grind just because they did, as I missed Steve's stream when some people apparently took that stance.

    15 minutes ago, Arniox said:

I'm just saying that I'm very proud of my clan pulling through and grinding the weapon. It took a long time (about 3 weeks after release) and was annoying. But now were done. I feel very proud.

Dont that take that away from us.

No one is arguing for that to be taken away from you. Even if the cost is reduced by 90% tomorrow, you still have the knowledge that you did it the 'hard way' and can take whatever pride you find from that.

Wasn't Hema designed to act as a focus point for a long-term goal that clans can work towards slowly? I remember Steve talking about it saying that the purpose was to act as a sort of focus-sink.

No, I don't remember that ever being said by any member of DE staff.

Though if you have a link to a post, tweet or video where it was said then that would be interesting.

"it's a long term goal" is something that certain players have been putting forward here on the forum, all I have seen from DE is "we don't want players to be able to start the research immediately from stockpiles".

Depending on weapon Berserker is pointless really, as Attack Speed is capped at 90% (the max amount granted by berserker) and Berserk doesn't affect Blade Storm speed, while Primed Fury does.

The bonus from Berserker is capped at 75%, so not that much better than Primed Fury's 55% if you have it; and as you said Berserker doesn't affect the speed of certain animations, unlike (Primed) Fury, also including the finisher from Fatal Teleport.

Depending on whether you're building for raw damage or slash procs, you could consider swapping out Jagged Edge (or Buzz Kill) for Spoiled Strike, as JE and BK don't affect the bleed damage from slash procs, whereas Spoiled Strike does.

There are more than 10000 ghosts clans on PS4 as far as I can say. From those 338 managed to achieve the Victory Tier. Lets say 3% of all Ghosts clans (even those with 1 person not playing anymore).

As I understand it, the leaderboards and event scores only considered clans that actually participated. So ghost clans of a solo player who doesn't play any more don't feature in the numbers at all.

As the event only ran for a week, it's highly likely that there were more semi-active ghost clans who didn't 'participate' simply because they missed the event, that's much less likely to happen in higher clan tiers as the chances of at least one player participating rise massively.

To be a part of a big community is always best than to be a lone selfish tenno. In big clans we help each other and specially the newcomers, give them advises, help them in missions, even giving them some stuff they need to get going, or you just continue to play alone if you need that noone is going to bother you. In a Ghost one man clan its always about you and no one else, always those selfish people looking just for themselves, maybe recruit a couple of "friends" just to feel masters of few but king to just one. Been there, seen it, hated it, so I left and joined a big clan and now I can say to you why the DE system is not working as it should.

That's just your opinion, the fact that you put "friends" in quotes only demonstrates your bias. Why can't a group of 2 to 10 friends play together in a ghost clan?

Bigger is not always better, and many players prefer to be part of smaller communities where they know everyone rather than another faceless member amongst 1000.

DE should offer tools to effectively manage clans of all sizes, but there should be no "social engineering" incentives to force players to play a particular way or in a particular size of clan.

Don't see how this differs from me wanting to use Mesas power set on Frost, because I like how Frost looks better.  Or I like the performance and mechanics of Quanta, but wish it looked like Opticor instead. Or I like how War looks, but wish it had the stats of Galatine Prime.

Because arcanes don't 'look' like anything (old helmets aside) and don't fit thematically with a particular helmet or syandana.

There is no obvious reason to tie them to cosmetic items other than restricting their use to two per loadout, and there are other ways to do that which don't interfere with fashion frame.

And if they don't progress in the game fast enough, they lose interest. Why else there would be so many ''I have everything and nothing to do. I'm bored. Give me some endgame content'' threads? Making progress slower would just remove the ''have everything'' part, and get straight to ''I'm bored''.

I don't agree with this, at least not as you've worded it; progressing too fast or too slow both lead to problems with player retention, the ideal place for your game to be is the sweet spot where players consume content at roughly the same rate as developers release it, with a 'catch-up' mechanism for newer players.

If lots of players are complaining that they have nothing to do, it's a sign that your current content is being consumed too quickly, and you need to do something to either increase your content output (which costs money) or slow down players' progress.

and from the event where many ghost clans managed to acquire the slotted/catalyst wraith ignis (even day on one) while in consoles none of the moon clans achieved that goal and on PC where just 2 of them.

That's simply because there are many more ghost clans than moon clans. Without knowing the % of each clan tier, rather than the absolute number, that achieved the Victory reward it's impossible to compare.

It should be better to be a member of a big clan, the bigger the better...

Why? Unless there's a genuine reason to value being bigger?

And if there is a genuine reason then it should need no additional incentive.

Blade Storm already scales indefinetly with a bit of effort (unlike Limboom) because it's damage is affected by the COmbo counter and Steel Charge aura. Ash is a melee oriented frame, never forget that.

Although Bladestorm ignores armour scaling (because finisher damage), combo counter scaling starts to fall off against enemy health scaling due to diminishing returns.

In contrast, 'Limboom' is affected by armour scaling (unless 4xCP), but its damage scales linearly with enemy health.

The difference is situational, and not obviously in favour of one or the other.

Funny how you said that slot, potato and forma are biggest plat sinks in the game. I don't think we can get definite data on that, since that is DE financial secret. But I can understand why that would be the case.

Well DE confirmed as part of Rebecca's 'pop quiz' during PAX Australia that the 3-forma bundle was the best selling item in the market, the potatoes and slots are just a logical extrapolation of that.

  20. The rewards for the "research upgrade" option would need to be something other than a slot plus a potato.

Slots, potatoes and forma are some of the biggest plat sinks (and therefore money makers) for DE, you can't give those out for free without replacing that lost income somehow.

It is an intriguing idea though, worth some more exploration.
