In fact, I'm fairly sure a codex entry -- I want to say it's for the Helios variant, Sol, which appears in the Index -- says that Helios is a modern creation of Alad V's.

Let's see here, Index enemies, "Lockjaw and Sol"...

"These robots, based on Alad V's own patented designs were delivered as payment for services rendered"

Lockjaw is a Zanuka, definitely an Alad design. As for Sol, I can see this going a few different ways. Maybe you're right and it actually is a Corpus Robot. Maybe the Valkyr whom Alad captured all those years ago had a Helios Prime and Alad reverse-engineered that. Maybe "these robots" only refers to multiple copies of Lockjaw (unlikely but possible).

I do recall this, yes. But it still doesn't entirely make sense for Revenant Prime, Valkyr Prime, or Xaku Prime.

Valkyr P and Revenant P just needed to be named "Gersemi Prime" and "Warden Prime" and there would be no issues. Xaku Prime, I don't see any issues -- the Tenno have built their own Warframes before (Nova) and even gotten them Primed (Nova Prime) so Xaku Prime has a perfect in for their lore

I expected something deeper in this discussion beyond earning credits and weapon slots.

There's really nothing deeper we CAN discuss. DE designed the game like this, where the old gear is just plain less powerful. The one suggestion where we can feed Helminth a potato'd weapon and get half a potato back was kinda cool, but that was just a theory, DE themselves seemingly have no interest in it

we also know Duviri isn't really any kind of afterlife from Albrecht arriving and leaving at his own leisure.

That doesn't really prove anything one way or another. Once you have Hell in your setting, having living characters both enter and escape is just something that happens. As far back as Orpheus from Greek mythology, having the living (Drifter) visit the dead (Teshin) is just how the story goes

Also, Teshin's face now has "Holdfast scars," I'm pretty sure that's confirmation he's now a "Conceptual Embodiment" (ghost)

You really need to read up on the lore there. Parvos is not attacked by any tenno assassins. Parvos is targetted by the board

Parvos was attacked TWICE. First by the Tenno, THEN by his rival Corpus. Protea's creation was between these two attacks

And the fact Parvos identifies the first attack as a "Tenno" attack confirms Protea is not a protoframe

  5. I am indeed curious if Shards will go the way of Arcane one day...

The original Arcane helmets were cosmetic items with stats; these were discontinued quickly and I only have to mention them for completeness

When 8-Player Raids first dropped they added a new kind of Arcane, and you had to choose a cosmetic item to attach them to. You could change which cosmetic they were tied to but this cost an Arcane Dissolver item. Later the devs removed the Dissolver; you could switch which cosmetic had the arcane for free.

During the above paragraph, this meant a certain arcane could only be used on one frame at a time. You want Arcane Strike on both Valkyr and Rhino? Grind up two different Arcane Strikes.

This was later changed to the system we have now, where arcanes can be slotted into as many frames as we like just as mods can be

We liked it and it sounded like Vergil which is a real name so we rolled with it.

This being a frame you workshopped after Dante came out, and being an Entrati frame just like Dante, I don't think it was a coincidence:

Excuse my nitpicking but these are Dax weapons (they are still absolutely Prime worthy)

Source on this lore? It's not in the Helios or Helios Prime codex entries

How would you feel if DE made new Prime Weapons or Items that weren't directly tied to the seasonal Prime Access updates?

They did this once, WAY long time ago. I think the Braton and Paris primes are not tied to any prime access package. There's also the AkLex Prime relics which are a Baro exclusive, I forget if the Lex Prime was tied to any prime access

You said Protea and Titania are very much not proto-frames

Yes. Proto-frames predate the unsealing of the Children, and Silvana doesn't create Titania until after the Children have been unsealed. Ergo Titania is not a proto-frame

The unsealing of the children is also the creation for the "Tenno" as a caste. On the timeline of Parvos, he is attacked by Tenno assassins BEFORE Protea's creation, so we can also say Protea is not a protoframe

    1 hour ago, SneakyErvin said:

Your read? Actually read it. He never tried to destroy the Tenno or the frames, he tried to stop the research and experimentation in order to stop warframes from being created.

"Kullervo didn't try to destroy the Tenno, he just tried to use weapons and various attacks and gains Tenno personnel and facilities to render the Tenno inoperable, incapable of further action, and inert on every level"

    since the Void isnt Hell

Yes it is. That's how the evidence stacks up in my side of the court. Like I said, I will not debate this because there is very obviously nothing either of us can do to shift the other on this. With such language as "the hellspace where our science and reason failed" or "Void Angels", and with such artistic themes as a deal with a devil or archdemons of wrath and envy, or with Teshin showing up there for his eternal rest after he gets his neck snapped? It's a no-brainer for the Void and Hell being one and the same

    I will say this though.

First, when I say "Hell" I am not saying "Biblically accurate recreation of the Christian afterlife." Despite my use of "fire and brimstone" in a previous post, it's self-evident DE has made no attempt to follow Christian canon to any degree. Rather, when I say "Hell" I simply mean "afterlife." No more, no less

    Secondly. This sentence by you:

    1 hour ago, SneakyErvin said:

The Void is space beyond space, a dimension where time isnt linear, where past, present and future events all happen at once. Where outcomes within the undercroft reflect on reality, meaning that how certain things pan out there gives reason for why they happened (or will happen) the way they did for the Tenno (or others) in reality.

neither supports nor harms your argument. It's completely unrelated in a neutral way. All of those confirmed characteristics of the Void do not act as evidence for or against the Void being Hell. Hell can be any, all, or none of those things, it's all up to the writers

Funny how we now have exclusive prime access Warframe cosmetics and literally nobody noticed.

It was ok with Inaros because his was free, but these are paid...

    That's pretty normal for Warframe:

You want the items that actually give stats? Grind them out for free. You want the items that are purely cosmetic? Open up your wallet

What is your WH40k experience rooted in? Codex books and lore from other rule books since Rogue Trader? Gormamorka, Inquisitor or Necromunda? An unhealthy obsession with Citadel Journal and White Dwarf over waaaay too many years? Video games? Gaming and lore clubs/circles? Various WH40k novels from GW?

All of the above. I've been playing 40k for almost exactly 20 years now

Which makes no sense when you imply everything is the same even when something is far more advanced. Like, why even use any labels for anything at that point?

I'm not sure you even understand what my argument is, if you're asking this

Take a dieselpunk army. Loosen your personal definition juuuuust enough so the standard infantry rifle is allowed to shoot lasers, and make the government buildings in the civilian sector use gothic architecture side by side with the military buildings which are still brutalist. Now have this dieselpunk army colonize space. That's the Imperial Guard. That's what I'm saying.

Where do you get that idea from regarding Titania? Silvana is already on the project before it turns into Warframe research by Ballas

All I said was that Silvana made Warframes during the Old War, which is exactly what her audio logs say in the quest:

"Titania is the next Warframe I've been commanded to build, but in secret I've been siphoning resources from the project. I have an idea. A way back to that wounded land I call home. A way for me to forget this war and remember what I was"

And read the Kullervo lore again. He is clearly still around when the tenno get involved in the Warframe project

My read of his crimes is that no he wasn't, he tried to DESTROY the Tenno. When that didn't work he tried to sabotage the Warframes.

    2 hours ago, SneakyErvin said:

Eventually Kullervo got caught and sent to Duviri

Ok so I'm not even going to debate this point because it's obvious you and I have completely different reads on what Duviri is

My read of the Void -- Duviri included -- is that it's Hell. Literally Hell, fire and brimstone, the damnation of sinners and the wailing and gnashing of teeth. Kullervo isn't there because anyone in realspace sent him there, Kullervo is there because he's dead. He doesn't need the Drifter to know about him to manifest him there, he just died and is being eternally punished for his sins

And before you ask, no I don't believe the Drifter is dead too. Drifter is an anomaly because he's not dead

I fully understand why anyone would not believe Duviri is part of Hell, but by simply taking that position you and I have basically nothing to debate over. You're looking at the ocean and I'm looking at the sky, we are not going to tome to a consensus on what "the big blue thing" is

We dont actually know about the handcrafted thing. Since not all proto frames went away. There are more and more of the old that imply that the version we find and make use of to make our "normal" version is a proto long lost due to one reason or another. Kullervo makes this quite obvious with the timeline of his story and crimes.

Kullervo, Sevagoth, Titania and Protea (Prime) are likely all Protos. Kullervo we know is one, Sevagoth is likely one due to the sentience of his shadow in the story, Titania follows her creator and protects her (sounds very similar to the Kullervo story) and Protea (Prime) seems to be the canon first version of her provided to Granum, the version he based the specter on that we fight and then use to make the "normal" version. It also goes inline with what Varzia tells us, that some started out as primed. Those made after the proto uprising were very likely just new versions of the proto using the data from it to try and make a version that would be less hostile. Like we can read in the Rhino lore, where they mention that they've gone through and discarded several.

One can wonder how many more of the "normal" versions we make were initially proto or prime now that we have the Kullervo story that shows that it wasnt impossible for the protos to "blend in" and survive. Earlier we just wrote them off as "tenno" frames made in order to sustain the tenno war effort against the Orokin during the fall.

I use "proto-frame" to mean "created before the Zariman Children were brought out of storage and into the Lua Reservoir." Protea and Titania are very much NOT protoframes under this definition, they are far newer.

Heck, the Kullervo lore implies all the proto-frames were hunted down and slaughtered -- including Kullervo himself (he and Ballas are in Duviri because it's the closest thing to an afterlife the Warframe universe has). DE will inevitably find a loophole around that because they need to sell Kullervo Prime in a couple years, of course

So my question is, how were the different warframes made? Does each unique warframe have their own unique strand? Or is it entirely dependent on the Dax warrior?

After the proto-frames, each Warframe model was hand-crafted by various artisans in a larger effort we call the "Warframe Project" out of convenience. Ballas was the head of the project where he personally designed many, though not all Warframes such as Saryn and Vauban, while other frames were shunted off to other researchers such as Sylvana who made at least two including Titania. We know from Protea Prime that Parvos Granum was also allowed heavy input to create Protea (since simply killing Parvos proved too difficult)

As for the victims themselves, Dagath and Gara both volunteered, though this is implied not to be the norm and that most hosts were either vat-grown bodies or political prisoners (indeed, Gara was a voluntary political prisoners)

I don't know if this is being addressed but there's a problem with Overguard currently.

If you melee any enemy with any companion, even without Pack Leader, it causes your Companion to instantly lose ALL Overguard.

This is a known issue, but it's a disappointment to learn the fix didn't come in today
