  1. Youll have someone tell you...(it may be me actually) that we cant do this...there are frames that can self revive...and all frames seem to be able to heal others to an extent, if you look at the defector rescue missions and what they say when you revive them.... But i think for a damaged warframe, the lore reason is that the operator is losing control of it has to surge it with void energy to regain control.

I also hate Volt's speed boost, can't stand it.

It's not so much the ability, but the unpredictability of when another player is going to use it.

If Volt uses speed boost just before you jump, you will always mess the jump up, usually massively overshooting. Troll Volts (of which there are many) know this all too well.

Another more personal problem, I play Titania a lot, and the speed boost makes Razorwing unusable. A lot of the time, it completely bugs the ability out, with a boost that doesn't go away. You also can't backflip whilst in Razorwing.

I've also recently come across a lot of speed Volts on defense missions, who will just stand and shoot, but spam speed for the reload. There's no way to hang back on a defense mission.

My suggestion, change the ability so that it only affects Volt. That way it wont upset the Volt players, and other players wont have to navigate a new set of options/actions.

Who is just using speed for the reload? Its not even a noticeable difference...in a defence? For why? Lame.

    Yeah. That's a bit #*!%ed.

Yes, it can, given that to make them you are basically killing Warframes for parts. Don't think Space Mom would like that.

    She loves the kubrows too....

This is all nonsense, and for fun but...

If we are going to talk about this, it might get kind of weird...as far as lore goes, what we are building in our foundries is a cobbled together mess of infested flesh and other things....the original frames may have been made out of or modeled after living breathing humans, dax or not....i dont think we are using living people everytime we make a frame in our foundry, but since its mostly just a mass of flesh, butchering it up into pieces for a pet probably isnt that bad. Lotus never tried to assasinate Alad v. He just falls to the ground crying after you beat zanuka, and you leave him there crying on the ground. Its just a problem if the corpus have them apparently...

  4. Volts base duration is 10 seconds. A 10 second base duration on any ability is trash, amd cannot be fixed with modding, thats why they canged rhinos duration on roar from 10 seconds.

Even if you dont change the trash duration, the most responsible thing to do for them is to make it an opt out and then an opt in. Back flipping out of speed one time should make it permanent until you back flip again or some other opt in metho, although backflipping again should be fine.

This current iteration makes no sense.

Sure it does.  Are you suggesting a command line option?

You're assuming that one person thinks it's unreasonable.  You're also setting the bar at "If one person thinks anything in the game will "trigger" them, then the devs are immediately obligated to change it."

Seen the new spiders to be added?  What happens when one person says "When I see those spiders, I vomit and can't sleep for three days."  Are you suggesting the spiders be removed by the devs because one person has a phobia?

It is nothing like the gore option.

    Exactly.  This is nonsense.

He is a decoration.  Again, a decoration.  Not a jump scare.  Not a scream.  No gore.  No movement.  A decoration.

Nope.  Just expressing my opinion.  Just like you are.

Exactly.  This is nonsense. I'm done with you.

Its everything like the gore option, which is just a cosmetic.

Im suggesting an in game cosmetic...and thats as far as that goes. If your talking code, i dont know.

Im setting the bar at "if something affects someone on an individual level, and doesnt interfere with anyone elses gameplay, it should be taken into consideration".

Your trying to validate a point that cannot be validated. You are arguing against something that has nothing to do with you. And you didnt answer the last question..you dont see him, but would like to, but per this post you just made, youll just have to suck it up and deal with it.

And since people are already having different experiences with seeing him, although there should be no reason why the op and you shouldnt be able to swap experiences, since this is the veiw point you hold, they are stuck seeing him all the time and you are stuck never seeimg him.

Deleting spiders out of the game would affect mutliple players amd therefore be unnecessary. This change affects people on an individual level and will go unnoticed by anyone not in their liset.

But if you want to continue being stubborn for no reason, sure, ill drop it.

    I see it this way.

    1)  It isn't a jump scare.  Not even remotely a jump scare.  The dude doesn't jump or even come at the screen.  He doesn't scream.  There isn't any gore.  He is basically a decoration that appears randomly and rarely.

    2)  I think it is a question of reasonableness and I don't think removing a decoration, or more importantly adding a checkbox, to a full options menu is reasonable.  Sure, "adding a checkbox is not big deal", but it never is adding a checkbox.  The decision has to be made how low a bar will be for options, and if the bar is that low, then a multitude of other options have to be added as well.  That is the argument.

    3)  If something as trivial as a decoration showing in the liset can upset someone's wellbeing, then they shouldn't be playing that game.

    4)  I've never seen him.  Even after the mission.  I've thought about doing the mission again just to see him, but I really hate operator mode and that mission is all operator.

It doesnt have to be in the options menu. And it being there if at all is not unreasonable simply because its perceived to be by one person. Its like the gore option which is already there.

Everything else is just nonsense. You have never seen him in your ship personally, but you also dont think he is scary. Someone who has seen him personally and has an irrational fear of such things does think he is scary. You, who have not seen him, think that your opinion is more important.

    ....

And what if the opposite were true, and we were talking about asking DE to make a way for him to spawn more. Because i want to see him more, amd you yourself would like to see him, are we wrong because DE's artistic vision was that some people would get to see him amd some not, and we should just be content not seeing him?

  7. Also also, just to ask, whats the difference between someone who doesnt like the jumpscare opting out or someone who doesnt like the jumpscare not playing warframe? Either way, they wont see the jump scare, and you wont know wether or not they see the jump scare. All thats being accomplished is people not playing warframe. DE has the time to fix it. What logic makes you think that someone not playing warframe is any different from them being able to opt out of the jump scare? When it already happens differently for people already? I never get to see him.

I know a very stereotypical, "tough as nails" Marine who is a die-hard soldier, but he suffers from PTSD from the multiplicative effect of being through too many explosions.

He's never shocked or surprised by much anything except jump scares. The sudden sound and movement of something quickly appearing, freaks him out!

He saw the short clip of "The Man's" most recent appearance as I rounded a corner past the relic refinement station on my orbiter and it freaked him out!

The sudden appearance of a facsimile of your Operator is meant to be jarr-ing (Marine puns), but there is a problem in that your Orbiter never changes except at your choosing! It is unexpected and there isn't anything else in the game like it! I don't think the Devs were meaning for it to have this kind of effect though, but you can't account for everything...

The devs could put an "opt in" feature in the game, but I don't think they will get to it because it's such a small part of the game and it's meant to have the effect it does. I feel for those who are negatively affected by it, but I don't know what they could do to change it!

Even with the "opt in" feature it might still have the same affect. There's also the possibility that the intended audience would not get a jump out of it if the "opt in" feature was present.

The Devs can't cater to extreme minorities because it hurts the game in general and the game's identity gets destroyed in the process. It's sad, but a fact *cough* Destiny *cough*.

The only way to deal with this issue is for people struggling with mental illness to get help. Realize it's not your fault that you struggle and that you're not alone! It's always good to talk with others who struggle with mental illness because it is real, it does hurt, and the illness can destroy your life even if you're careful! I'm happy to support others in their struggles because I struggle as well!

Have you looked at the patch notes? Have you seen the small and ridiculously unimportant stuff they change all the time? If you get a chance. Go look at this months console one, its a doozy. Id be pissed if thats why khora was delayed, but its not. They have time.

Back to the initial point, altering the spawn rate of the already elusive ghost would ever so slightly hamper the course towards a stronger, clearer, more established universe.

Most of the suggestions made so far have tried to stay in line with the lore, the best one iv seen would be being buying rells donda for ducats from the steel meridian (which is availble to do), and it being able to keep the ghost away from us as it did Rell. Infact, if it doesnt already do this, id find that weird and lore breaking because that just makes it a weird cosmetic that doesnt do what it says it did in the lore and you wouldnt really know about it otherwise ( i didnt know about it). Many people commenting here would actually like to see the ghost more often. I stayed in the middle after the war within, neither good nor evil, which was to my knowledge one of the things that influences how often you see him, so why do i never see him at all anywhere i go in my ship? And why should someone not be able to have my experience, especially if say they are actually good and not "evil", which of course would make no sense at all lore wise or not....

  10. Have any of you talking about DEs time ever looked at the patch notes? Theres tons of junk in there that gets fixed all the time. Its quite admirable. I honeslty wonder how they find the time to do all those fixes. And half of that junk you scroll through is stuff that by these standards would be deemed "not worth the time".

I honestly expect alot of people should be reading through the patch notes and getting upset because DE is wasting their time fixing fish bait descriptions so that they tell what time of the day each fish will spawn or slightly changing the color of each fishing spear to better identify which one your holding (when they are named already)

This "fix" if implemented, because of how small it is, would be just one thing on that giant list of changes and fixes they always do every update, and would not affect your gameplay in the slightest, the same way all the tiresome fixes amd chamges they constantly do go unnoticed by you.

Except that's a stereotypical example and not the point I was hoping you'd get.

Asking for an alteration, however minor, of a core design aspect of the game (core as in "which gives the universe coherence" and outside of the numbers game), is but an early step down the slippery slope of self-censorship and increasingly-restricted creativity. Merely adding the option to alter a lore-based anecdote, makes it none the less of a step in the wrong direction.
This being justified by putting forward the fact it affects you negatively is the 2018 icing of social justice on the cake of virtual correctness.

You could argue the option to able or disable gore already accomplishes the same goal, to which I'd agree to some extent. I believe it does, yet shouldn't, alter what the creative vision initially was. Warframe is set in a believable universe and when people get cut, guts come out.
However, this is offset by obvious legal and marketing factors, which require different local laws to be taken into account. If you were to publish a game with gore world-wide tomorrow, you probably would include the option to disable gore so that it's less troublesome to market in Germany or Australia, with their legislations' tendency for video game censorship (that's off the top of my head), and not because you want to preserve the innocence of your players.

In any case, let's all learn remember that, as stated in paragraph #3 of the Warframe terms of use agreement (quoted below), the game is not intended for children below thirteen in spite of the gore on/off option :

Our content is in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and will never be directed at children under 13 years of age. If you are under 13 years of age, the Website and game are not intended for you and therefore you are not permitted to access the Website or Game unless your parent or guardian has provided express consent and accepts this Agreement along with all applicable end-user or similar license agreements on your behalf prior to your use of the Website or Game.

Also, if you take a look at the bottom right-hand corner of the Warframe homepage, you'll notice the game is rated "Mature 17+".

Clearly, it's not easy to assess this gore on/off feature, its causes, legitimacy, adverse impact on the universe and immersion, benefit on users, and so on. So as not to dwell on that too much, I'll conclude that the existence of such option is sensible if not mandatory from a business-perspective and thus cannot be considered to set a precedent for your initial suggestion.

Lastly, you already do have the option to opt out of the "Hey, kiddo" light jumpscare (I'm hesitant to even call it that). You can do so by not consumming creative content that you think does a disservice to you. I, for one, fully embrace the evolution of the game towards an ever more-structured universe and will let DE tell me the story of Warframe however they see fit.

You are on completely the wrong track. Lore used to be a big thing for me too, but we get bits and pieces only so often, and most of it is easier found online than in-game. Interacting with lore in-game, as far as the "hey kiddo" scene is concerened is sporadic already. I have only seen him twice in however many months its been since the harrow quest dropped for consoles. Giving a player an option in game to have my experience or giving me an option to have their experience would not break lore or restrict DEs creativity.

Telling someone they can deal with the game or not play it is an ideal solution for someone who is already comfortable with how things are. If you were uncomfortable or unhappy with the way the game was going, say, DE decided to delete gore altogether, and cater to snowflakes, as you might say, id imagine you would take your own advice and quit.

But if DE is making changes to the game that do not impact you whatsoever, say them allowing gore to be turned off at will as it is, or the ghost appearing less or more in someone elses liset, you shouldnt feel the need to leave the game or tell them they need to leave. Its not about you, not affecting you, not changing the game for you in anyway, other than you being on the internet and seeing someone talk about it. If you were playing warframe instead of patronizing people on the forums, odds are you would have no idea they had a problem with the ghost kid.

No clue if it would fit lore-wise, but...

You already can obtain a certain charm - Rells Donda - for a few ducats from Palladino at the new Steel Meridian base. My suggestion would be to have "the mans" spawning algorithm check whether or not this Donda has been placed anywhere in the orbiter. If it has been placed, then it would help us "focus" better, like it helped Rell, thus keeping the ghost at bay.

Its perfect. And you can break it to put a curse on yourself for constant visits

  13. I wish i had gotten here first, firstly to say how happy i am that theres finally someone else who has played infamous, and that youve made the post iv always wanted to make but knew not to, then to warn you though tears you were about to die a horrible internet death....

Infamous is just an entirely different thing then warframe, that aside, there are some pretty terrible abilities in warframe, and i still dont know why, and for the most part have stopped caring. Volt can aircast discharge again and i have Nidus. You just have to look at this game through a really narrow field of veiw and ignore everything else as if it doesnt exist.

  14. All those horrible first abilities...iron jab has always been trash.

Nekros is forgivable because with despoil, u have excess energy anyways, but its single target sonic boom, which is stupid.

Chromas is ingnorable because his 4th casts the actually useful version of his one....which should only make sense if you were trying to use it while also using the 4th...

Ember has a smolder now...so particle effects and stuff, yay....its something like a napalm shot which does something...

    Et cetera....

I guess that's not a bad place to start when talking about the absolute limits of a frame.  Seriously though, most frames can go well beyond lvl 200 without much trouble.  These frames you guys are whining about are fine.  Nova in particular is pretty well balanced and fun, and also probably misused by a lot of bad players just like Limbo is.

I just played with a sleep equinox in a kuva survival, and yeah, it toned down the difficulty quite a bit, but it was still fun. Nova goes above and beyond what a sleep equinox does. I just find her irritating compared to any other cc frame.

  16. 1 hour ago, (XB1)Young Boy HT said:

The idea behind Cc is to take out a large number of enemies as to "control the crowd". Nova is fantastic at doing this, but how often do you come across people who actually know how to play her? Anybody who truly knows nova would toss in an antimatter drop after her 4, but you didn't mention it... Nidus and Inaros are solo frames. Their capacity to survive and tank goes far beyond any warframe in the game, and I say that after playtesting against lvl 120's for hours on end. Nova is a team cc frame... designed to make the other players lives easier and control the battlefield. I'm not surprised you're having a hard time if you're expecting Nidus and/or inaros to compete with frames like Nova in terms of Cc.

Having a hard time? Compete? Not mentioning how gimmicky antimatter drop is? Im sorry, i thought it was her 3, but i think thats wrong. Anti matter drop. You cast molecular prime, then blow everything up. I know. Just said she makes things boring. My go to is volt. Just to put things into perspective. I understand what cc is and what it does. I understand that discharge is making enemies stand still. Im saying Novas range is too great and she affects gameplay too much.

    3 hours ago, TKDancer said:

    thats like, your opinion man

i very much enjoy having slow novas, impedance frosts or peaceful provocation equinoxes on pretty much every scenario

Its my opinion yes. Let me continue sharing. The only place i would enjoy the company of a nova is the void survival, maybe the kuva fortress survival, but definitely void, because its the only place that consistently gives me a run for my money. Im a casual gamer, so yeah, there, but nova takes it too far anywhere else. It sucks when you are in an endless mission waiting for the enemies to scale up (which adds some fun) but she keeps resetting them back to zero. I like playing with every other frame, vaubans and frosts included, but novas fourth covers too large an area. The wider the range, the less of a slow should be applied, while the ability should last longer in the area its cast and have no limit to amount of times able to be cast...even something crazy like having areas like in sorties with radiation or magnetic penalties, and casting antimatter drop into it cause it to explode and expand, although no one would ever actually buy that.
