The reason why people complain about melee is because it is clearly a larger problem. If a gun was op than people would complain about it on fourms, e.g the daikyu.
It's okay for the game to have a META, but if that meta is better than everything else then there is a problem.
If people are actually getting off their game and are taking the time to ask DE to look at melee, then people actually believe that it is a problem. Most people don't even as for a straight up nerf, but rather a look. I myself am currently advocating for a "re-look" at the melee weapons. And i don't think there is anything wrong with that. If I join 3 different lobbies in a row with completely different people, and they are all using melee only (yes this has happened) then there is clearly a balance problem. To be honest, the amount of melee only lobbies I have seen since I have last played is atrocious, I'm scared to see how it is now.
The daikyu was not the problem, it was 1 shot kill thing..
Melee was OVERLOOKED, at the point on giving them 16 damage...
No Headshots multipler, no Spin damage bonus, block stamina drain increased, Nerfed, nerfed, and nerfed again...
You have problems with Fang? Or a Skana? O yeah, Prisma Skana, dual raza, furax, dex dakra etc etc etc are the problem...
No one its going to say something about how OP its Boltor Prime? No, because it is "skilled" weapon...
The "skill" word is lost in YOUR mind. But ill try to go into the deep voids on your mind and pull it out. Skill is determined by how proficient a player can be with the requirement of time and practice
At how many times it was used, ye, i have lost my mind about the "skill" argument, this, this no, yes this, but o hell no this really no...
Melee dont enter on the requirement of time and practice...

Making comparison to another games, and wanting the same mechanic in warframe (or even something close to that)... and stop naming things that you use in other games...
No everyone knows what the h... are you talking about... And not everyone cares about other games, or come here to listen or read about things from pvp/pve games...
There is a people choice, who want to use X thing and Y thing... you choose the "harder" way to play, ok...
But because people choice something different or even "easy" way to play, is not less than you on "skill" play...
The "skill" word its so used, that now lost his sense on all this threads on warframe pvp...
Everything have a META, fun, and kill... or be better than others on differents gameplay choices, I like how on all this pvp threas the only complain are "melee users easy way to play E mashing spamm powers xploit..." Please, if DE remove MM, there is going to be, ever, and excuse to blame about melee... <-- Everything based on "skill" argument...
Nothing about Guns...

Oh, S4 (Stylish eSper Shooting Sport) League, it brings so many memories...
Melee combat there was so erratic with n00b players going berzerk with their plasma swords and Pro-players just dead stopping them with that sword-and-giant-glove duo (only melee weapon capable of blocking and stunning opponent while doing it), creating mountains of grieve and "ban gauntlet!" flame wars.
Still, this game really encourage out-of-box tactics, learning your weapons and timing your key presses (and was almost unplayable with high lag, even with its "peer-to-peer" system)

Why DE don't listening the community? In January 16th: Community Hot Topics 41% voted for keeping coptering as it is. Why this unique mechanic should be removed? Instead we get some monkey jumps which transformed game into another mobile runner. Press 'W' harder?
So i suggest to don't removing it completely. How about make utility Coptering mod? Everyone will be happy i guess.

Fix PvP by removing energy drops. Make energy only obtainable from getting kills, making powers essentially kill streak rewards. Remove knockdowns entirely. Give players a flat 75% resistance to other status ailments.
Nah, that thing its going to kill low stats warframes...

The only few things that still worry me are:
directional melee as a combat tool since it wastes a lot of time now and has poor hit detection. (more in op)
kinda goofy aim glide animation, could be a bit more vertical sometimes
no mentions of charge jumps and vault improvements (but they both were talked about previously, so shouldn't be a problem)
and @(*()$ butt scooting still seems extremely viable and important to move around :(
...and just basically few minor animation quirks that could get polished soon anyway. (more about that in animation thread)
That's an incredibly short list when compared to the entire original thread of problems and requests.
I dont understand what you say about directional mele...
Air directional coptering melee etc etc are not movement tools anymore... just for atacks

Because there are alot of Flat Walls to do only wallrunning and nothing more...
Because the distance covered there is really really balanced and controled...

Remeber the Stealcharge nerf ;) Every maxed Steal charge gave you a Legendary Core, If it was not maxed you didn't got one.
