  1. So when I invite others to my orbiter, they can no longer enter operator lounge room. When I visit others' orbiters, same thing. The door is simply closed for all visitors. What's going on here? 😞

Everyone in question is up to date on quests, including the latest Chimera quest.

  2. I was trying to find the right subforum to post this in so hopefully this gets found by someone that can help

Typically to update the forum avatar to match the in-game glyph, I log out of the forum and relog, and refresh. This hasn't been working lately, and I've tried different browsers.

  3. So I can't put a lens on Garuda's talons when they're maxed.

I'm concerned about missing out on focus affinity as a result, since they took their own affinity to level. If that's the case, then I would assume the affinity goes to a maxed weapon without a lens which is then wasted.

Is there any more to this that I'm not aware of?

Perhaps they could either use a lens, or instead go off the warframe's lens?

  4. I had a very frustrating experience in a low level sabotage fissure. Upon completing the objective, I could not get a 10th reactant. Someone destroyed the objective and it happened to start a count down, and in 5 minutes I could not find enough corrupted enemies, and we eventually failed the mission.

Can we please look at the drop and spawn rates of these type of fissures? I know for example exterminates have a much higher drop rate. It doesn't even need to be that high, but the current situation is ridiculous and I feel like I'm wasting my time. Please?

Its not my or the worlds responsibility to make sure you are comfortable or feel welcome. I hope you find the peace you seek but this mindset will lead you only to ruin. I have spoken on this for the last time. Have a good one.

That is quite the strawman. This is hardly a demand on the world; it's one company deciding to moderate their chat based on values of wanting to be better to other people.

Be the change you want to see. You say the world is hard, and a lot of people react by wanting to do better and make it easier for others.

Life is hard, its not easy for anyone but we move on and toughen up. You keep this type of sensitivity up and you wont make it to 40. Grow some skin and learn how to brush things off. Everyone has been a butt of a joke at one time but we move on. Just because you are gay doesnt mean you are special or superior to anyone else. You people want equality, well this is it.

Why not both? It is important for everyone to develop skills to move forward yes, but why make it needlessly difficult?

If a minority says hey, you overlooked how saying X makes people feel bad, especially younger people or socially isolated people, who are already prone to mental health issues - my reaction there would be oh, let's stop saying that S#&$.

Life is hard so.. you just wanna keep it hard? Not try to be better? Ok man..

You're advocating censoring a largely held belief based on the notion that you (royal you) find it offensive. Isn't that desire also offensive? Not defending/advocating for any belief system here, just observing what I think you're saying (correct me if I'm wrong).

I've personally (yes, anecdotal evidence) been the butt of a joke many times, in many games, but that's what it is: a joke. Brush it off, mute the person if need be, and move on. If somebody is truly toxic (threats, direct insults with no context of a joke, etc), report, mute, move on. Given how DE censors chat, those people will most likely be swiftly dealt with.

I don't get the link between "this deity did this gender thing" and "let's make a bad meme about how modern trans people trick others".

Why does something being newer instantly make it more acceptable? I'm obviously aware of things like sexism and racism even fifty years ago compared to today, but claiming an idea is offensive just because somebody had it "x" amount of time ago is fairly dismissive, as well as being tainted by presentism. Both sides (traditional gender vs progressive gender) make extraordinary claims, but these claims are nothing without peer reviewed evidence. Personally, I could care less what somebody chooses to identify as; why does their choice hurt me at all? But, I have yet to see acceptable evidence for the seventy-odd genders (or however big the list is now) that are claimed as being real. People can identify as whatever they want and I really don't care what they do, but that doesn't mean I have to fully accept it. We can exist in two spheres and not be at each-others throats, it just takes mutual respect.

And yet again, why are we all arguing about this in Warframe? I came here to shoot bad-guys, not get into debates about gender.

Because we're talking about the social context now, with people living here and now, not the far removed place and time of when that myth occured. Even people who are more closely linked to that belief, still live in a different context.

People like to play games to escape. It's harder to escape when you feel like you're the butt of a joke, and it makes it harder when you're the minority. You just wanna escape and play the game instead of people injecting toxic jokes and views everywhere.

These types of threads truly boggle my mind. When did playing a game for the sake of enjoyment stop being enough? When did playing a game mean players felt they were entitled to tout their asinine jokes/memes, social justice/gender politics and/or religious views? Just because a chat platform exists within a game does not give a player carte blanche to talk about whatever nonsense comes to mind.

You want to talk about the game, or help other players in the process, great. But if you want to try and mask your views under the guise of "talking about Warframe", then you have no right to complain when you are censored. There are a plethora of other venues where you can spew whatever crap you want to without feeling like you're being "oppressed" or "censored" or "victimized". You have Discord, Twitter, Facebook, your own stupid blog, etc. But you do not have a right to use the in-game chat as a platform for whatever BS you think is relevant.

Within the context of the game, no one cares about your gender, your politics or your religious beliefs. Play the game. Share your gaming experience with others. Share you knowledge of the game with others. But anything else is not (and should not) be welcome.

Because people play games to escape and have fun, and a majority of people get to have that because they aren't as negatively affected by negative jokes and stereotypes. People that face extra difficulties in life, who already feel bad, also deserve a place to just escape, and not feel like they're just the butt of a joke. Try to have a bit of heart.

The complete lack of self awareness of someone complaining about something they find offensive, while being completely offensive themselves and just blowing off religious views because it's "just a story" in the same post is utterly mind blowing.

First, you're slightly misquoting me. True things can also be "a story".

I have no qualms about saying that many religious traditions and institutions have historically been sexist, and that covers quite a broad spectrum of activities and events, some of which have been quite appalling. You're pitting religious conviction against human rights, you can't just shrug and say "well everyone has an opinion so..."

"A myth is just a very old very popular story" is quite a risky thing to say to (earlier in the thread) people that hold belief in Chinese deities, Nezha specifically. In doing so, you just claimed that their belief isn't real. My thoughts on that aside, you're discrediting the origin of Nezha.

Nezha's origin does have him utilizing "trickster" aspects, including obfuscating his sexual appearance (as said a few posts up). It's a simple jump to the "Nezha is a trap" meme, describing almost identical behaviors, even if the actual intent (purposeful deception vs accidental deception) is different. The way I see it ( which may be totally wrong) is that "Nezha is a trap" refers to Nezha's appearance, i.e. "Be careful about being hetero-attracted to that frame, it's actually a dude". People are attracted to what they are, and most people feel embarrassed/confused when they discover they were being attracted to something that doesn't fall on their sexual preferences.

That being said, this is the internet, and people will turn anything they can into an insult. That being said, it seems like "Nezha is a trap" (petition to shorten to "NIAT" for brevity) is just a meme repeated by people in an attempt to be funny. I've never once seen somebody use the meme as a means to directly insult somebody, but that is anecdotal evidence. "NIAT" does not appear to utilized to demean trans people, but more to allude specifically to Nezha's appearance as a male character that contains some feminine attributes (personally, he looks pretty damn male to me; his front is a washboard all the way down); a straight male (or even a gay female) may have some attraction to these feminine aspects, but via the ol' trap-trickeroo, it's actually a duderino. Oh no, I've been bamboozled; let's all collectively move on with our lives and kill some Grineer.

It's a story about something, whether or not it happened I haven't said nor do I think it matters. It's still an offensive notion of what people do with gender presentation in today's social context.

There's lots of sexist acts, events, and laws in various religions. I don't think the fact that some people believe hard enough in a story makes something less wrong or harmful.

“Nalakūvara,” “Nalakūvala,” “Narakuvera,” and “Naṭakuvera” to describe the son of Kubera. The god also appears in Chinese texts as “Nazha,” and later “Nezha,”
Nalakūvara often appears as a sexual
trickster figure in Hindu and Buddhist literature.

I mean, that doesn't make it any less offensive.

A myth is just a very old very popular story. It doesn't have any inherent value beyond that.

  13. So there's been some debate on how Vlad's themes fit together. He seems torn between 'phantom' and 'vampire'. I think at the moment his appearance and abilities seem a little more superficially like 'phantom'.

Here's another thing. We have no female spooky-frames. We got Nekros, Inaros, and Harrow though.

What if you made this frame the phantom frame, and devoted an entire later female frame to the vampire theme specifically?
