  1. You... you just contradicted yourself in two sentences.

The thing is, proc rate on the Drak is unnaturally low right now. Like, really, really low. Not even physical procs occur more than once every three missions or so. I didn't bother trying the Detron today, though I do need to get rid of that Lv22 Strun that's been rotting in my inventory for a while now. Dunno how it performed proc-wise before, though.

I didn't contradict myself. What I meant was that the Status chance before was not what DE intended (or they changed their mind about how it should work; not important), and as a result of this change the Status chance is lower than before. If that's a problem, they should leave the change in and increase the Status chance, not revert the change.

  2. You are wrong that the dilution is worse. You are looking at it as change of getting a Prime part, when you should be looking at it as chance of getting this specific Prime part. The Dakra Prime Blade had about an 11% chance from T3 Exterminate before the drop changes. If you only wanted that, then you had an 89% chance of not getting what you wanted. In this new system, the Blade might still be an 11% drop chance, it's just that the other 89% isn't just made of other Prime parts anymore. This actually fixes dilution, because when a new Prime part gets introduced they don't need to lower the chances of getting another Prime parr, you take it out of the junk.

  3. You honestly think that the differences in play styles can be resolved through the leveling system?  I don't because level systems are quantitative systems of limited dimensions and the differences between player's tastes are not strictly quantitative, they are also qualitative and multidimensional.

How do you accommodate the differences between players who like "either you don't get shot and kill the enemy quickly, or you get shot and die quickly" versus those who don't with a level system?  What about people who want more sprint speed vs. those who want less?  I can go on for ever with examples, but, this should be enough to make my point.

Oh, now I get what you're saying. Yes, I agree with you, actually. This sort of consolidation is impossible, yes. I remember a similar problem happening some time before in this game, and the solution unfortunately is for DE to make a choice. They have to decide what sort of game they want, and until then we get to debate and argue. Oh boy, I am so looking forward to this bullS#&$ again. For now, let's just agree to disagree on what direction the game should take.

  4. I may as well answer all three of these at the same time because of the similarities.

That's your opinion.  And it misses the entire point of the thread.  There is no way that people like you can share a game with people not like you UNLESS it has a bunch of challenges to appeal to people like you and a bunch of challenges to appeal to people not like you.

I reread the OP, and no, I did not miss the point of the thread. If you want to spam and inflict catastrophe on the enemy, low level content will give that to you. If you can do the same to high level enemies, then there is no content for people who want a challenge, whereas if high level content is balanced, you can still wreck low level content. Balancing high level content is a win-win. Also, you are oversimplifying 'nerfers'. I could go and say that the people who hate balance just want to feel superior to everyone else and are too lazy to level multiple sets of equipment and want to be able to complete the game without any effort whatsoever, but that would be wrong and paint people such as yourself in an unnecessarily negative light.

  5. I'd say that's an improvement.

Edit: Yeah so other rewards in the tables is a good long term solution, but it feels like garbage getting crap from a key. Still, it's just like getting a Prime part you don't want, so while our chances of getting a part we want isn't improved, we won't have issues introducing more Prime gear.

(anyone who upvoted because of my initial statement who disagrees with the edit can take the upvote back)

  6. id also like to note, why wouldnt you want progression?

if the MK1-braton, lato, and skana were as powerful as everything else, you would just max them out and call it good.

sounds pretty boring to me. im all for progression.

That is the direct opposite of why we want weapons to be balanced. This is a very annoying strawman argument that makes no sense. I guarantee you that people would still use weapons like the Kunai, Ogris and Drakgoon regardless of how balanced they are.
