  1. As the heading implies, I'm wondering why the brilliant/radiant shards we gain from Eidolon hunting can't be used as "open" focus geared towards any school. It defeats the purpose of being able to use the shards for focus if we can't use them to help us unlock trees we don't have access to, which would make increasing the validity of the operator much more efficient.

I hope I'm getting across my thoughts in a cohesive fashion here. Does anyone agree or have any further thoughts?

  2. So I think the Mesa Presidio skin doesn't look all that bad, actually, but why when the entire skin is metallic does the helm not change to match that color correction when selected? As with many others, my main gripe with the skin is the helm, but using another helm with the presidio skin looks horribly awkward because it changes abruptly from a metallic shine to a matte finish on any helm but the one it's designed for.

Seeing as how it's a 'skin,' I think it should change the tone of any helmet used with it to match its features. I realize this probably won't even get seen, but I wanted to give my feedback anyway.

    Thank you.

Wait until you start farming for nidus to complain.

That has no bearing on what was said in the topic. How annoying one mission is in comparison to another isn't the problem here. As it stands, The Index is causing us to pay out the nose for a pittance of a reward. Nidus is a whole other matter, and because of feedback I've seen I'll probably hold off on going for him anyway.

  4. I'm in The Glast Gambit right now, and it's freaking annoying. I could handle a few rounds of Index, but this many is ridiculous. More than that though, what happened between the preview and now in regards to credit wagers? Why are we betting upwards of 150k for a payout of 20k? How can we not be called "ringers" well before this if the odds are so far in our favor we're only making less than 1/6 of what we give?

Not only that, but the 10 point 'margin' is the most arbitrary, irritating mission I've played to date. Keeping Index points within that much and instantly starting a timer when it goes over? God forbid it be by one or two and let them catch up! Nope, insta-fail. I'm really kind of picked at this mission right now.

I'm sure way more people than just me are losing ungodly amounts of credits because of the insane wagers required for the gameplay needed.

    Please fix. Seriously.

  5. Hey DE,

While I know this must have been brought up a few times before, I must reiterate: what's the point of being able to customize our Tenno and showing them in the dioramas when other players can't see them? Every player I look at has the Zariman suit and is either bald or using one of the default hairs. I don't believe Fashionframe is endgame content like the jokes go, but if I've spent the time to make my Tenno look half-decent - which can be a challenge unto itself sometimes - I'd like other people to be able to see what I do.

That being said, TWW brought huge changes to that, and even before you were bringing out the suit bundles in preparation for it. If we're paying plat for these customization options, they should be able to be seen. This has been an issue ever since TWW dropped, and has yet to be addressed. Along similar lines, would it be possible to have something like poses be introduced into the dioramas? They kind of stand there like cutouts right now. I'd say mannequins, but mannequins can be posed, heh.

    Thank you for your time.

NOONE IS BEING FORCED INTO ANYTHING

This is the sort of attitude that leads to the people who post an angry rant on the forums every time they see an archwing nitain alert, because how dare there be literally any incentive to play anything but Warframe's default game mode.

When you have new players who want to get new things, or even newER players that just want unique emblems, then yes, you're pretty much being forced into it. When you CAN'T get these anywhere else, you're being forced into it. I'd play any other mode but conclave, and so would the majority of the playerbase/

So I want to talk about the Snowday Showdown Tactical Alert. I'm aware of how much work and effort goes into making an event like this, but, I think making a Tactical Alert that's based on PvP was a mistake.

For better or worse, not every Tenno likes Conclave, Lunaro, Archwing, or Raids. Some avoid what they don't like for different reasons, but, I feel that this Tactical Alert sort of forces Conclave onto people. I personally hate Conclave, I don't enjoy it all for a variety of reasons I won't go into. But, I can appreciate the effort made into making this Tactical Alert. That's why I'm so confused as to why the team thought pushing people to do it seemed like a good idea. Obviously DE has the stats on how many Tenno consistently play Conclave, but, my understanding is that not everyone does; in fact, that few Tenno do.

There are a lot of Tenno that maybe haven't played Conclave before, don't like Conclave, or are new players that are being forced into playing this Tactical Alert and are going up against Tenno that have loads of experience with Conclave. To say matches can end 1:50 isn't an exaggeration.

I'd like to know what other people think about this Tactical Alert, specifically about the fact it's PvP-based. Let's also please keep things civil and positive, after all, it's the holidays.

    ^ ALL OF THIS.

I was going to say pretty much the same thing, but looks like someone beat me to it.

THIS IS A PvE GAME, NOT PvP! These unique emblems should not be in conclave. If people want to do the game-mode, fine, it's a neat little distraction, but it is NOT the game we came here to play!

  8. I honestly can't stand it. I hate conclave to begin with, so I hate that we have to do conclave if we want to get these stratus emblems. There was a reason I had no stats for conclave on my profile before this, and now I do - and I see even more why I didn't play conclave before this.

If they want to add game modes, that's fine. Great. Just don't push it on those of us that don't like it by making things unique only to it. This is a PvE game, so the items should remain in the PvE portion of it.

  9. It is a really busy month to release it, but the good news is the hardcore players and even most of the others will have tons of the relics with the new system here, so the prices should never get as ridiculous as they have been over the past few months.

If I never see another WTS Ember P set 1300 in the trade chat, it'll still be too soon.

    Re: Syndicate missions.

There are ways to make it faster.
First of all, bring at least 40m of Loot Radar.
    Second, Vacuum!

Now, an Ignis, a long reach melee, a max range Maim with a bit of damage stored, popping Saryn's Molt, Wu Kong's 1 augment + a large air-slam AoE weapon will break the containers in a large area.
Any icons that haven't moved are either statues or marks.
Vacuum will pick up any loose drops, uncluttering the minimap (note: doesn't work in Excavation, due to Power Cores).
Zoom around, hoovering up everything, you should be in and out in under 6 minutes in any untimed mission.

Note: Loot Radar has much less vertical range than horizontal, so be sure to bullet jump up or climb down in any tall tile.

The thing that bothers me about this reply is how it perfectly validates the initial question of this forum topic. Not just the frame parts on bosses encouraging speedrunning, but the mentality of the player-base in farming for resources.

If the whole point of having special items hidden in maps is to encourage exploration and taking your time, just reading through that response shows even there people will go for the fastest, easiest, and most efficient method possible, intentions be damned. Rather than having a minimap that actually works to show things properly, exploits in punch-through and vacuum are used to clear out chaff and leave the wheat, so to speak. Rather than the levels actually be worthwhile to play through entirely, only certain points are used because of how the system works. Exploitation rather than exploration. Farming rather than fun.

Does it feel good to do it that quickly? I admit, I felt pretty proud of myself the first time I was finally able to one-shot a boss, or a particularly troubling heavy that used to bother me all the time as a newbie, but sometimes that isn't the point. I'd rather feel the accomplishment of being able to find secretive things with hints and tips, rather than outright tricks. The way the system is designed seems to reward those tricks more than anything else though, since the infrastructure for doing it otherwise tends to be lacking or just plain broken.

Says a lot for the state of the game though.

Kayla de thaym is the closest I could say we have to de taking the right step. However the way enemies and scaling works makes Arena nodes a tedious chore or a blind button press for endo. The little roulette mechanic is nice but just has rollers to annoy you and the boss drops 1 time rewards that once obtained give you no reason to ever go back.  I don't think I've ever re-fought any boss once I've gotten the frame or mods off them as theres no incentive to do so.

Kela is my least favorite boss on Warframe. Bar none. Period. End of discussion. Not only is scaling completely broken in this game, which makes "Scaling Enemies" the worst modifier to ever get when doing the arena missions (like you mentioned), it introduces even more grind into an already grindy game. Grind for arena points to grind for Saryn parts, which you then need to build Chroma, to grind for more Saryn parts to build Saryn. I had every frame in the game before Valkyr Prime dropped and still managed to get her before I got Saryn, that's how long it took me to drag myself through the endless grindwall and hopeless RNG that was Sedna. And like you said, there's also the mod drops to consider, so that's more grind for more RNG. It encourages speedrunning even more than ever because people are so honestly sick of doing it by the time they're done they resolve to not go back again. Not just that there's no incentive, there's sometimes hatred to go along with it.

I'm a newer player, so I don't know what Kela used to look like, but her rework looks bad@$$. I want to appreciate her, but so many aspects of her battle and the way to her annoy the hell out of me.

Thing is, explorations are only rewarded in Syndicate missions: Cephalon Fragments and Simaris Targets are usually breezed through with Capture missions. Ayatan Sculptures may give some incentive on exploring, but the fact that the chances of them spawning are so low means that most people will find them by accident, or on syndicate missions.

And even then, the reward for finding those syndicate tokens is usually so lackluster not many bother. I usually play public since the clan I'm in has been less and less active lately, and when someone does join my syn run it's a toss-up whether or not they'll even stop to look for them. Besides that, they've made minimap mods useless because they don't even help with locating things of interest outside of cephalon fragments. If those mods actually gave you hints of rare containers/statues/tokens, they might be worth it, but nope, everything that can be picked up is simply a little box that clutters up the minimap even with a vacuum sentinel. It's tedious and pointless, and some are so far out of the way that you just have to scratch your head at why they're even there in the first place.

There's exploration, then there's hiding something behind a box in the tallest point of a map you'd never never think to climb ever.

  13. Hey Trading Post!

As title suggests, I'm just looking for a couple of Smeeta imprints. I'd ask my clan, but it's not very large and not very active nowadays as is. I don't care about looks or anything, just the breed, so I'm hoping to get a couple for reasonably cheap or for a trade of some kind. I haven't done this for imprints before so I'm not sure what kind of price to expect, but it shouldn't be too bad for randoms, right?

Anyway, since trade chat was largely unhelpful, I thought I'd post here. Thanks in advance for the help.

*EDIT* No longer needed, thanks! Someone replied.

    ^.

Warframe's reward structure is entirely backloaded, RNG or both.

If it's backloaded, the actual missions aren't rewarding, just the mission completion reward... so you rush.
If it's RNG, we have no tools to improve drops with gameplay - so you're likeliest to get your drops by killing as fast as possible. For rare resources, this means churning through mobs ASAP. For bosses, well, the same.

    And if it's both... *shrug*.

Yup. What I said was a statement of fact, not an opinion. When I said there wasn't any reward to exploration, it was a sad reality, that's why I mentioned them.

  15. That's the nature of the game, so yes, they're definitely encouraging a speedrunning philosophy. I remember when I started I was so hyped to get to the bosses of planets, but joining randoms - which was the only way someone of my level could hope to do them at the time - completely eliminated the wonder because they ran full-tilt to the boss, skipped their introductory cutscene - which I'd never seen - and usually proceeded to one-shot it before I had even gotten a glimpse of it.

That's because there's no payout, no advantage to going through the mobs on the way there. There's no use in exploring the level because resource-farm runs are easier and have more benefit. Warframe's only measure of note to other players is Mastery Rank, and mastery is only attained through getting more stuff. Of course this encourages speedrunning.

Really though, as long as you're having fun with your friends/clan, that's all that matters.

  16. @Danjal777 Oh, if only they had done something like that! It's become clear over time that they don't know what to do with the Focus system, and it's basically just there to give us passives. If our schools would dictate actions/options in future questlines, that would be freaking awesome. But really, how much do those schools truly match what they give you? Zenurik is supposed to be 'dominating the enemy' and all that, but it's basically Bastille with energy regen thrown in. How does that make sense? I'd like to see the Focus schools revisited, and your suggestion would have been amazing to see!

Hey ! ( :, Thanks for Black friday for Deluxe skins but Full packs of deluxe skins don't have -25% off, So This off % is fail beceuse if i will get the banshee sorparana skin for -25% i didn't get the sonicor skin, also sonicor skin isn't buyable without this pack. Please add -25% for full packs of Deluxe skins.

    THANKS <3 .

Who wants full packs of skins? -25% !! ?( :

Exactly. Those accessories are what make the packs, since they're exclusive to them. Why would we only want the skins? Also notice the lack of response to this thread since it was opened. Their sales would go through the roof if they added the packs.

Why doesn't the Ash deluxe/Koga skin get 25% off?

Because reasons. Same reason only the skins are on sale apparently and not the bundles that they come with... Speaking of:  why AREN'T they on sale too? It's only a 25% discount, not the 50-60 during the August sales. You should be able to have the bundles in there too.

  19. It's been really interesting reading this post start to finish today. Personally, while i had a few problems with the plot laid out in TWW, overall I felt it was presented very well, and I'm insanely curious as to the foreshadowing left at the end there. As for the discussion around OP's fanfiction fix, it gets rather telling when you can't present counterarguments to well-reasoned points. On that note, it was amazing reading @Rhekemi and @Iccotak's deconstructions, since not only were they well-presented and written, they were consistently backed up with excerpts. Those are the kinds of reviews any fanfiction author would love to receive, and I'd like to hope they made you think about your iteration.

To the two mentioned: wow. Seriously, good job. Those arguments were amazing to read.

Um... no it released on Nov 28th, 2014. it hasnt even gotten to be 2 years old, it wont be three years old in a month... Dont just go by the year.

Don't go by just the year? Now who's splitting hairs? In a month it will be 2017, and regardless, two years is a huge amount of time to have something be out of circulation. How about you contribute something useful to the discussion?

  21. As the title suggests, I'm wondering about the Mutalist Incursion event. On the wiki it said it happened in 2014, and in a month that will be three years ago. Currently the only way to get the puncture set (or Mutalist Mod set, as it has been coined) is by doing that event those three years ago. As is, that means the prices for those four mods on the chat has gone through the roof, and while there are alternatives, I'm curious if we're ever going to see the event return, or another event see those mods as rewards? The 120% Slash and Impact sets are available through Baro, so maybe that might be something to consider?

It's kind of odd for just one damage type to be so exclusive like this, so that's why I'm asking.

Thanks in advance for any answers/feedback. Have a good day everyone!

(Apologies, this should probably be in the General Feedback forum, not General Discussion. If a Mod would mind moving it, that'd be great. Sorry again.)

So maybe next fix the Ember press 4 to win thing.

Outside higher level missions full build Embers can limit their actions to just press 4 and run around - this also takes fun out of other players who rarery have chance to hit the enemy.

Ember has already been Nerfed compared to what she once was. How about you actually play the game, or better yet, read over what used to be so you can actually compare? Whining like this is what gets frames completely nerfed into disuse ala Mag.
