  1. Hell no, the Corpus moa spam deals enough damage already, we don't need random melee units that can one-shot you on hit. Buff the regular Prod Crewmen and give them some body armor instead to boost speed and protect certain areas. I mean, why would they send their precious crewmen on suicidal attacks with a goddamn prod, yet the crewmen has no protection beyond their basic suit?

While we're at it, Corpus Snipers need a re-do too. They should be acting more like the Hyperion Infiltrators from Borderlands 2. Cloaking ability (can still shoot/be shot and their silhouette is visible if you look closely), slow but heavy damage, maybe even throw flashbangs instead of normal grenades (similar to being hit by Radial Blind in PvP if the flashbang explodes on screen).

  2. Yeah not a fan of the whole staggering thing, and it just sounds like a beefed up Heavy Gunner with a stagger gun. About the teleporting, it should NOT be able to teleport players, we'd just end up with the same frustration as against Commanders and their unavoidable random warping.

  3. The chances of multi-faction missions would need to be vastly increased for this to be useful, as well as actually have both factions fighting each other throughout the map instead of just having one faction replace the other completely, as they do now.

Also, the Harvester would need to create particularly tough Infested units from their victims if we are to actually fear them. Afterall, if they just turn their victims into your average runners and chargers, I'd actually sit there and let it "harvest" all my enemies, since regular light infested are much less threatening than the gun-totting Grineer and Corpus.

  4. You mean Lephantis? That guys is actually pretty easy, though EXTREMELY monotonous. Only thing that would need to be nerfed are the random poison clouds that get spit out from the walls without warning (you'll notice that even after you beat the Corpus head, toxic clouds still seem to appear at random). Possibly a slight reduction in the RADIUS of the Infested head's spore bombs, NOT the damage, and everything else is perfectly fine.

To counter-balance this "nerf", make Lephantis MUCH more resistant to Rhino Stomp's effect (seriously, Stomp facerolls Lephantis phase 1).

  5. If the Infested get ranged units, they should be flying bat-like units made from Infested Ospreys that fling thorns at you from afar. They should spawn as much as Ospreys do on Corpus missions, though only start appearing at low-mid levels (approx. lvl 15 missions onwards).

Chargers should be replaced with weaker "common infected" zombies (with both Grineer and Corpus skins) that can't hit hard but tends to swarm. Current Grineer "canine" chargers should become its own unit, the Hounds, an uncommon unit that ALWAYS spawns in packs of 6+, larger packs at higher levels, and start spawning at around lvl 20 missions. They release a loud echoing howl upon spawn (notification of appearance and increases atmosphere of fear). Packs may spawn with 1-2 Alpha Hounds starting from lvl 30, basically larger, stronger versions of the Hounds that can use a version of Rhino's Roar to buff nearby Infested allies.

  6. @Linde

You've only made 5 posts on this forum and I already like you :D

On the subject of the rule, in THEORY the rule should be able to help the forums maintain civility and reduce uncalled for flames. HOWEVER, this is a slippery slope. If a rule exists, it will be exploited by someone along the line. A dev could just be having a bad day, and he sees someone on the forums say that a change he made was "dumb". Ignoring everything else the poster said, the dev gets upset and locks the thread with the rule. Suddenly it creates a precedent, and this "standard" just keeps moving up until all criticism is censored. It will happen unless DE has a lot of self control. And quite frankly, I'm not sure they have that.

And as Linde and others have said, just because someone makes an angry post at the devs doesn't automatically mean his criticism is invalidated. You guys don't react to sugar-coated feedback. We've kindly suggested countless ideas for making mission types more interesting, increasing enemy variety and AI, fixing RNG (token system for void, for starters), and you guys never do anything about it. We had a MASSIVE petition to keep Raid and get rid of/change Rescue, what happens? Raid is now gone, and Rescue is still crap.

But when the forums explodes with extreme rage and prejudice, THEN you guys react. Come on, if someone didn't go and datamine your droprates, would you ever have gone and changed it? We'd still be suffering from 1% droprates with Forma if it wasn't for the glorious dataminers and the hellfire they started on the forums.

Come on guys, you're GAME DEVS. You NEED to have thicker skin than this to survive in the industry. What's next, you're going to cancel further development on Warframe due to a fight with some random player on Twitter?

  7. Unfortunately, I don't think that's true anymore. In a really bad way. There is so much else that is wrong with this game. The entire scaling system, as well as balance in general will still be a mess. Armour 2.0 will balance some weapons and powers, possibly make higher level content less spongy, but in the end, balance between frames, scaling in general, noob-friendliness of early-game, possibly the mod system, and most importantly of all, a viable endgame, still need work. And right now it seems that DE is unable to find a viable solution to endgame except add content locked behind RNG grinds. And you can't really blame them, either. I can't think of any solutions either.

I can think up an end-game already off the top of my head. Moving nightmare mode to a completely separate Nightmare Sol System. This Nightmare System can have the same planets and missions as the normal system, except in nightmare mode all the time. Each Nightmare Planet is unlocked after completing all missions on the normal planet. Nightmare mode will have increased mat drops, much higher chance of uncommon and rare mats, unique dual-stat mods, etc.

This gives veterans A LOT of extra content to unlock through for little effort from the dev team. Sure as end-game it's rather short term, but hey, unless it's a sandbox or well developed PvP, you're not going to be able to keep players interested forever without additional content updates. Of course, this still would only work if DE actually makes Nightmare Mode interesting instead of adding stupid timers and health drains.

  8. Eh sorry but I don't think armor 2.0 will be this game's "life or death." Seems kinda dramatic too like a soap opera. But that's just how I saw it kinda made me spit out water!

Well Armor 2.0 is going to change some very fundamental aspects of the game, just like Mods 2.0 did, and everyone who was already in the game at the time knows how well received THAT was. And Mods 2.0 WAS a change for the better, though not a perfect system in any way shape or form. As such, with Armor 2.0, most likely it's going to create AT LEAST as big of a controversy and mess as Mods 2.0 did, even if it does end up as a good change. Creating a temporary flame wall amongst the community is going to be THE BEST CASE SCENARIO. If they actually mess up Armor 2.0, I don't even want to imagine what would happen.

So yeah, I'm honestly not trying to exaggerate here. Armor 2.0 is going to be do or die.

  9. A day with the devs? I would discuss the game with them ALL DAY. EVERY topic about the game. The game's direction, weapon and frame balancing, enemy variety and AI, new weapons that would actually be interesting to use, their goddamn pricing, genuinely good credit sinks, reducing RNG, reworking mission types, graphics, sounds, bosses, the newbie experience, communication, anything that comes to mind about developing the game. Yeah I must be fun at parties, but y'know what, I don't see the devs as celebrities to just hang out and do random pointless stuff with or admire and fanboy over, I see them as game devs who created a game with HUGE potential, but need a little help in recovering its direction, and I want to be the one to help them immortalize Warframe as one of the best F2Ps in history.

  10. I agree with bringing back saws, BUT ONLY COSMETICALLY. Seriously I don't want a goddamn Nervos 2.0. And take away their personal shields for christ's sake, they're tankier than Lancers with those shields. Instead, just buff their saw damage up. I remember being scared when I heard the sounds of their saws because of how much damage they could do. They don't look threatening AT ALL right now, nor do they have any unique features like the old saw sounds, they're just really generic melee units now.

Also, chainsaw instead of buzzsaw. Looks so much more menacing.

  11. What went wrong is that they went Open Beta too fast, and made a deal with the PS4 guys too fast. Warframe was NOT ready yet, there were so many things that needed to be worked on, yet making the PS4 deal and setting an official release deadline made them panic to rush out content, resulting in increasingly poorly thought out decisions and buggy content. Open Beta got a surge of new players into the game, and it also increased revenue, but it also resulted in more players who are more critical and less forgiving of DE. People expect more from an Open Beta than a Closed Beta afterall, as it's supposed to be a stage when the game is already presentable. Not only that, but with a much larger community also brings more noise and garbage posts on the forums, making it harder for DE to discern actually valid feedback, and picking out the good suggestions from the bad ones. I suppose it also gave DE a bit of a power rush to the head, making them more stubborn and arrogant, thus listening to players less and less.

All this is just a theory i came up with off the top of my head of course. Either way, what ISN'T a theory is that DE is making increasingly large amounts of mistakes, and it appears they have lost the direction that they once followed, making the game suffer as a result. The PS4 launch release is coming, DE is running out of time to pick up their mess. Armor 2.0 will be the deciding factor for this game's life or death. All we can do is give them feedback, hope they listen, and pray DE returns to their former selves.

  12. Actually, you really don't NEED a potato for the Galatine, unlike what everyone else says. 30 mod points is enough for a rank 4 Reflex Coil (3 points on polarity slot), maxed Killing Blow (11 points), maxed Rending Strike (9 points), and still have 7 more points to spend on something else. That's already a 50% reduction in charge time, 210% increase in charge damage (1200+ charge damage that ignores armor), and 60% AP, and whatever you want to put with the 7 more mod points. Any more than that and it's just overkill. It's not like its normal swings are even worth considering.

Miter is kinda a gimmick weapon. It does decent damage with charged blades, but it's pretty slow, and bad at managing crowds in a game where enemies tend to crowd you A LOT. I potatoed mine simply because shooting sawblades is kinda fun and i have some spare catalysts, but if you only have one i'd say it's not worth it.

Dual Ichor's best ability is allowing you to hold charge attacks. That's about it. Admittedly its damage is really kinda mediocre, especially since normal strikes don't seem to stagger anything. Again I supercharged mine because it's clantech and i don't throw clantech away, but it's probably not worth your single catalyst.

So, basically, I don't think any of the 3 you mentioned really needs or deserves a catalyst. You should probably just save it for later.

  13. I dream of a day when the Void will use a token system.

I dream of a day when missions will be interesting, when the Rescue target isn't a retard, and when Lotus doesn't miscalculate the time in MDef every single bloody time.

I dream of a day when there will be lore.

I dream of a day when enemy variety and interesting AI will replace stunlock.

I dream of a day when all Warframes will be interesting to play, yet balanced so that you won't faceroll end-game with a Nova and the 4 button.

I dream of a day when weapons will be fun to use, when they will cease to simply be generic reskins with ever increasing numeric values.

I dream of a day when DE will actually start communicating with the community, when they would discuss instead of pretend to listen.

I dream of a day when the newbie experience will be fixed, when the farming will be reasonable, when an optional but useful credit sink will be given.

But most of all, I dream of a day when I won't hesitate to recommend this game to my friends, a day when DE will pull their heads out of their arse and make Warframe the best damn F2P game there ever was.

  14. Aside from the OP's grammar and spelling, there are two things that need to be changed. The Ancient's ability to stunlock single targets to death, and the Disruptor's power. Seriously, Disruptors do NOT need to be able to drain all your shields AND all your energy in a single strike, especially considering the accuracy of their arm stretches and the fact that the Infested are so good at stunning players. I can justify a shield drain, as that keeps them a threat, but they should NOT be able to drain all your energy. At most, it should only lock your abilities for the duration of the disruption, and negate any additional energy orbs you pick up while disrupted.

In the meantime though, there ARE ways to fight them. Have enemy radar on (mod or aura) so they have less of a chance to sneak up on you, which they tend to do due to BS spawning behind you and them being completely silent. Just remember, if you aggro-ed some Infested, and there's a red dot that's moving slowly, that's probably an Ancient (that doesn't have line of sight). Also use cold mods to slow them, certain melee weapons can stagger-lock small amounts, fire will disable them for a while etc.

  15. Mmmmm no.

If that happened, you could be sure anime would be tattooed all around the main page.

Would fight away newcomers that think of anime as slightly too womanly for their tastes.

Dude, I'm not talking about RE-MAKING the Warframe game into THIS. I'm just talking about a completely theoretical stand-alone Warframe anime, LOOSELY based on what we have in this game. Geez.

Yeah but I doubt the Joker was ever a chick. I feel like gender swapping is a bad idea in this case especially if the bosses already have a set gender role and personality.

Well it's just loosely based on the existing game. Different tastes on this i guess.
  16. Why does everyone like Excal? Semms like he's a bit of a mary sue. What if Nyx and Excal were siblings? (Would explain the suit design) Also why is Vor female? Why is Nova 10?

The whole Excal thing is a common anime trope, where if you have a male protaganist and a large female cast, they will always attract romantic attention from at least half of them without even meaning to, usually due to their personality. Even funnier if the accidental harem isn't wanted by said male protagonist (which is how it is for Excal, for the first half at least). Nyx and Excal being siblings would actually be interesting, come to think of it. And also Vor being female is the same reason why many of the other antagonists are gender-swapped to female. In anime, female antagonists tend to be more popular with fans, and also tend to be easier to sympathize with. Sargas Ruk already takes the role of the aged serious badass commander of the Grineer fleet, so Vor can be a less serious character.

It mostly comes from the fact that Vor is the first boss of the game, and to the current playerbase is, like, the mascot antagonist of Warframe. To symbolise the whole "first boss" thing, I made him the youngest of the main antagonists, and due to his position as a "mascot", he should be a recurring villain throughout the series, like Joker to Batman. Except due to being a recurring villain, it's obvious he should have some form of relationship with the main protagonist, like how Joker and Batman are arch-nemesis who at the same time give each other purpose. Since this is anime though, it seemed more fitting to have Vor as a girl with Excal as a guy, and I worked from there.

My concept of Nova is actually inspired heavily by Tiny Tina from Borderlands 2. My clanmates keep saying Nova looks like a loli, and her M Prime is pretty much the most destructive power in the game. As such, I modeled her as a more psychologically innocent version of Tiny Tina, both very young but very destructive. Age 10 is kind of just a random number i threw out around her age range. 12-13 would actually be more appropriate. I'll go ahead and change that.

Either way, the concept wasn't really supposed to be serious, it was meant to be a creative spin on the existing lore of the actual game, with some common anime tropes thrown into the mix. I think of it as more a light-hearted action anime than anything dark and serious.

Why is it that i dont see Darvo on this list?

DAMMIT, I forgot about him! He was supposed to be a shady trader that would appear to aid the protagonists in the strangest of places (at a cost, of course), much like that merchant guy in Resident Evil. I'll add him in at some point. Thanks for reminding me!

  17. The Lephantis fight was one hell of a visual spectacle, but gameplay-wise? BLEH.

It is nothing but a waiting game. Run around madly waiting for one head to open its weakspot for a split second, blast it with the highest DPS weapon you have, repeat. Bring Rhino and Stomp for ez-mode. And then the walls start randomly spouting high damage poison clouds with no warning. And then it's the EXACT SAME THING in Phase 2, just with even MORE poison and rotating heads that keep trying to rotate away from you so you can't even shoot it (at least in solo). LAME.

There is so much room for improvement on this boss -_- At least the fight looks good. That's pretty much DE's one specialty, they're good at graphics and aesthetics.

  18. People say Raid is the same as Capture right? Why not just make Void/Derelict/Infested capture a Raid instead? Seriously, has anyone else realised it makes no sense for a Capture target to be in those missions? There is NO WAY a Capture target could have survived in an Orokin Void or on an Infested ship, and they have no business being in an abandoned Derelict neither.

  19. Buff Galatine normal swing damage to 75, reduce attack speed AND charge speed significantly. Make it a real interesting broadsword, not just another spam charge melee.

And seriously, "oh the charge speed so balances everything" is bollocks. Considering you can sprint during charge, AND it has very good range, AND it has momentum so you're much less likely to stagger even if melee struck mid-charge, it is EXTREMELY easy to just circle-strafe around your target while your Galatine charges up, or simply smack them with a normal strike (staggers) or a ground slam (decent AoE, knocks down) and THEN charge up. Not only that, Galatine comes with a - polarity slot, which means at Rank 3, no potato, you can put a Rank 4 Reflex Coil in, which already heavily negates its "long" charge time.

You know what, its damage can stay, just make it slower and take a little more tact to use.

  20. To be fair, Rebecca tries, you can tell she really does, she prepares the list of questions, and asks the hard ones too.

Problem is, some of the others often derail the livestream so much and deflect the important questions, or give the usual "yeah it's being worked on.".

Well, speak for yourself, I first came to the forums to do a UI mockup BECAUSE I found it really frustrating in-game. Now, I'm finding that I get less reward for my time (i.e. the state of grinding), as well as difficulty and balances etc.

You don't need to visit the forums to know about the game-breaking problems, all you need to do is to have played a few other games, and then come into this one.

To be honest though, I would refrain a bit from bashing their platinum market pricing. The prices are a major #$&(% move, we all know that, but no one is forcing anyone to buy anything. Market forces are SUPPOSED to give DE the data they need to tweak the prices according to demand. 130 platinum for a dual-skana is ridiculous, but just.. don't buy it, and give DE some time to realise how skewed the pricing is. I have some faith they would correct it given changing trends. HOWEVER, If people are still buying at those prices, and DE reckons they can make more money that way, then I think we should respect that decision and let them. Some people are saying that they would make more money from more, smaller purchases... you don't have those stats, you just don't know.

If people are comparing dollar-cost of items in Warframe to dollar-cost of enjoyment via buying other games, I think it's unfair for DE.

If I were in their shoes, I'd be all like "YES! we've stumbled upon a gold-mine, this revenue model actually works better than if we were to sell it like other games". In this sense, I would give DE some credit. Sure, some of you will wise up and seek enjoyment elsewhere, but It's DE's prerogative to price it the way they want.

At the same time, without this thread (thanks Nugget_), DE might not have realised how much of an outlier they are in the gaming market, selling individual weapons for $10... sometimes, I feel almost as if they want players to be bitter.

    Thoughts?

That...is the most reasonable argument I've ever heard DEFENDING DE's plat pricing. Kudos to you.

But yeah, sometimes I feel like DE just trolls their players on purpose. Obvious example? The Scorpions. They were released at a time when many players were complaining about the stunlock in this game, such as Rollers, Ancients etc. Then what does DE do? Release an enemy unit which has a long-range knock-down, with a description that says "Makes the hurt feel good". Did you know that when the Scorpion was first released, the hook was hitscan AND unavoidable? Like, the second it triggers, you are knocked down, end of story. No way to dodge, it can hit through walls, in the air, whatever. They just nerfed the Scorpion down due to the sheer rage that rocked the forums about them. If this isn't a perfect example of DE trolling their playerbase on purpose, I don't know what is.

  21. Basically, instead of implementing some REAL optional credit sinks for veterans, such as buyable mats for steep credit prices and a transmutation system that is RELIABLE and worth using, or even throwing out a few credits only cosmetics at really steep prices, DE instead decided to nerf the most reasonable late-game credit source hard, and then raise prices for new items through the roof so that everyone who didn't spend all their time farming T3s are punished? Yeah sounds like DE to me.

Considering that to get Void keys you already need to farm Endless Defense for long periods of time at the hands of RNG, and the fact that something like T3 is already seriously challenging with its nigh level 100 mobs, a T3 should be AT LEAST giving 50k a pop, even if the old credit reward giving almost 80k a run was a little over-the-top.

Seriously, double current Void credit rewards, decrease prices of new items down to par with older items, and give us credit sinks that we WANT to use.
