  1. Personally I still think that the final model is a bit too plain. She just doesn't really have any distinct features and feels like a reskin of other female frames. It's not that she looks bad, just not very interesting.

This is why I liked the digitgrade leg design from the concept art- it would have given her a unique look and possibly new animations to go along with it.

I can understand them removing it for the sake of animations, and the way they're globally applied to every Warframe.

Even though it would be for the best to give her new animations anyways, at least for her ult rage mode.

But removing them did remove what would have been a defining feature to her silhouette.

I'm bittersweet on the removal of the the digitigrade legs.

On one hand they looked cool, like a moa's legs and could have been used to bolster the lore (Corpus conversion of Tenno)

On the other hand "Catframe" Waifu enthusiasts...

  2. No it's not, when maxed out with mods its about 465, Saryn is only 300 when maxed out with mod, all Im saying is Novas max should be the same as Saryn. Twist things all you want, facts are facts.

Saryn is also a massive amount tankier then Nova, possessing a large amount of health and armor

And typically, as this game goes, the squishier the character, the larger mana pool they have.

    Facts are Facts.

Nova is literally a Porcelain doll and behaves like on under any kind of direct fire.

  3. Also Erinys could work, a different name for the furies which means "The Avengers"

Erinys is IMO the best option.

Anything that rolls off the toungue

Can be googled to get the proper result, or immediately sounds relevant.

And fits or represents the character's function.

Vauban can be googled to find a French Military Engineer, extremely relevant to his character and function.

Volt, Ember, Frost, Nova, Loki, Excalibur, and Mag, all immediately give an idea of what they do.

Valkyr can't be pronounced aloud without some kind of glottal-tongue collision on the "-keer" syllable. And if you know anything about the English language and the accents, you'd know that even removing light vowel sounds from the end, especially "e" and "ie" completely screws with the pronunciation.

    Erinys ("Erin-is") is much smoother.

Fallen Greecian Goddesses of Vengeance also fit perfectly because it is a "Beautiful form of Anger" and could be partially indicative of the way she was before her dissection.

It's not that I mind that her current work-in-progress name (DERebecca has confirmed it's able to change) being related to an angel.

But imo, it simply doesn't fit because it lacks the rage that is a key theme of the character.

Valkyrie = Warrior, bearing a shield.

    Warrior =/= Beserker

  4. Hey, you know what? This name was suggested in the Design Council.

    PRAISED BE THE FOUNDERS

(and the one in particular who suggested Valkyrie/Valkyr/Valkyria first.)

EDIT: Brimir was the one to suggest Valkyrie first.

The grappling ability is also courtesy of the DC :P

The council also suggested the name "Null" for Nova.

The Grappling ability is going to be as useful as bounce.

If I wanted to pull I'd play Mag to pull them ALL to me.

Or Loki or Ash So I could get into the group.

And not waste 25 energy to dislocate a SINGLE enemy.

I foresee a veritable sh**ton of Rework threads for her in the future.

  5. We have the standard ninja throwing weapons of Kunai, a deviation of Kunai, and Shuriken.

Senbon are the only one's left.

    However this is implemented badly.

I would say that the damage needs to be low with pure physics impact damage, but a higher fire rate. Even more so then the Hikou.

However to balance out the decreased ammo efficiency, a passive stun or stumble on each hit.

To represent the fact that they're meant to target nerve clusters.

  6. Fuse Provoked and Undying Will into an Aura mod.

That way your average Combat Medic Trinity, Ash, or Loki can give out an aura that lets allies defend themselves better at high levels if they go down.

I would love to be able to play off of Ash's Smoke cloud and it's ability to make reviving people a breeze.

But Currently those two mods are useless because they take up 2 mod slots, and mod capacity, when they have a very situation and terrible effect.

I would consider equipping it only if it helped my allies and gave me more mod capacity.

  7. She is meant for end game criteria. She does not need a nerf.

She needs a  Mastery Rank Requirement.

If Soma, Supra, & even Rhino have one, why not Nova?

This is where I stop, I don't need a flame war in the community.

IMO Rhino doesn't need to have that Mastery Requirement.

Warframe's shouldn't be tied down to "Tiers"

That's akin to saying that certain League of Legends hero's shouldn't be played once you get the chance to play better ones.

It's just wrong and goes against the grain of the game, being detrimental to game-play.

Weapons can get away with this because the gameplay value of them rarely changes over the course of the "Tiers" of weaponry and the difficulty of the enemies. You just simply use more and stronger bullets.

As Warframes contain 80% of the tact of this game in the unique flavoring of their abilities, invalidating some depending on how long you've played is basically wasting the time and effort put into that Warframe. Even Excalibur is useful at higher tiers with the utility/mobility of Slash Dash, Super Jump, and Radial Blind.

  8. scott worked hard on other powers, tried to make them unique and interesting and you call them useless? (no reason to use) Seriously i am sick of these metas everywhere.

    The Design Council suggested them.

I love how my specifications for a teleportation power got added to her.

But each and every one of her abilities is useful.

Null Star continues to attack and stumble enemies even if you are knocked down.

Anti-mater drop is brutally hard to use without an already OP weapon, to get optimal damage before the rest of your team just kills them all anyways.

But I still has the potential to do massive damage.

M Prime is a sore spot, because when people saw that, they thought "Chain Reaction"

And while it's a good ability, you just don't really see the "Chain Reaction" just a bunch of energy colored dust.

If anything M Prime needs a slight rework, rather then a numerical nerf.

  9. I don't care. Only a handful amount of warframes actually live up to their names, the rest are purely named because it's "Cool".

I believe this is one of those "cool" names that don't live up to the mythology. To be honest, I am fine with that and I am not going to make a pointless fuzz over something so simple as a name. As long as the gameplay is good she could be called Dirtroller for all I care.

    "Cool" is relative.

Calling an Orange a Pickle isn't cool IMO.

Her name would fit better as something that implies an ACTUAL ****ING Beserker!

    Not a Cat

    Not an Angel

    Not Dominatrix with whip cords.

This entire time DE's been trying to sell this off as a Beserker yet is trying to get as far way from that concept as possible.

I'm glad they're doing the abilities right, hopefully.

But a Beserker is by no means a Shield Baring Angel.

I sincerely hope name won't be changed again. Just imagine how would her Prime look, if Mynki decides to make it her how she should have been before the corpus inprisonment.

    Think for a moment.

If her prime version is honestly an Angel, would it make ANY sense that she'd still be ripping things apart with energy claws?

  10. I agree that she needs a bulkier build, but I don't buy the arm anatomy problems. Firstly, human bones in the limbs are curved, not straight. Second, we're talking about stretching the polygons of a zbrush model...sometimes it's going to look unrealistic compared to a human form, because it's not as complex as a human body, and it's not built from the inside out...it's just a 3D shell.

Well of course, realism for the sake of realism is usually a bad idea.

But the point is that the joints look disconnected.

And while the upper arm bone does have a "Slight" outwards curve, the muscular system put on top of it more or less appears to be a straight line/tube

  11. That's because you're using it incorrectly. Shield Polarize is an offensive ability, not a defensive one.  Consider that it restores allies/pods shields a bonus.  When used against crowds of shielded enemies (especially corrupted/corpus that are being buffed by shield ospreys) it can be devastating, comparable even to Nova's Molecular Prime ability.  When shield polarize hits an enemy, it takes away half of that enemies' shield, and explodes in a radius around them, dealing damage equal to that amount.  Now consider if a group of enemies are all shielded together, and you have quite a spectacular chain of explosions going on.

    Man...

I remember when Mag used to be a support....

The things that make me fell like drinking

  12. Oh..so it's Saryn's crazy (hillbilly) cousin from the mountains?

I'll remain skeptical till there's a full frontal.

Ze eyez..I vant tu see zee eyez!!

It DOES look like they re-used part of Saryn's model when they got rid of the Digitigrade legs...

But that's a different story for a different thread. I'll try to keep opinions out of this.

    EDIT: I'll TRY. Probably unlikely.

  13. The alt helmet option will probably make you happy.  But who knows what that will be.

It's connected to the neck so I don't think it'll be removed by an alt helm.

Seeing it as a syandana would be nice, but then making people buy it just to have her look the way she does in the concept art will definitely make people angry.

But not making it optional will also make people angry.

IMO, make it a Syandana Included with the purchase/construction of the Frame.

Berserkers don`t need to have giant muscles to rip people apart.Get your facts right.

Nononono, Let's not get this argument started again please.

    It never ends well.

Basically, she's going to need more mass on her upper arm to look right.

But that ONLY because the fact that she completely lacks the muscles that connect the forearm to the inner upper arm, and the muscles that connect and define the shoulder and armpit, as in they are literally missing

She by NO means needs to look like she bench-presses while guzzling protein shakes out of a Beer hat.

  14. So a while back I started up a rather conflict-oriented thread based on the appearance of the Beserker.

Now the Work-In-Progress Models are out, and I would like to apologize, to Mynki and the rest of DE.

The appearance is almost exactly the same, minus the Digitigrade legs.

(Skeleton and animation issues I'm sure.)

I was greatly looking forward to that, but unfortunately if it can't happen it can't happen.

    BerserkerPreview01_zpsdebe9bce.jpgBerserkerPreview02_zps96ce4aaa.jpg

The Warframe is looking amazing, I love the "peeled back" look in some parts, and now that I can see angles of it's shape that I could not have before, expecially the head and equipment, and it's definitely looking a lot better then I (pessimistically) expected when I started that one tirade of  a thread.

    So I'm sorry.

    HOWEVERRRRRRR...

    Something is still off...

    The arms.

The arms are a little malformed, not in a good 'disected' way.

But malformed and afflicted with Wiggly bone syndrome.

I want to actually try to supply some CONSTRUCTIVE criticism this go around,

    So here's what I've noticed.

    BerserkerPreview02_zpsa348520e.pngBerserkerPreview02_zps2b28baed.png

The first image is showing an outline of the arms and armpit along with showing the general curve of the arm.

The arms don't really connect to the body properly and the armpit just does not exist.

Also because of the curvature of the arm, it looks like the arm's bone is bending.

And just the same, the forearm looks bloated an not properly connected to the arm.

I'm just messing around at the moment with outlines, but extending that little muscle strip on the back, widening the upper underarm, and thickening the muscle strand that links the forearm to the upper arm would probably fix 'Zerker's wiggly bone syndrome.

As far as the bloated forearm, the corpus equipment looks like it's partially a placeholder at the moment, So I'd recommend the cheap fix of widening it to where it's integrated into the forearm, like it was in the concept art. (the blue box)

But once again I'm sorry for my angry rant and unnecessarily stirring up a lot of emotions.

I'm trying to be a little bit more constructive this time, and I fully recognize the Beserker is currently a work in Progress.

It's just that her arms look a little weird.

  15. So basically, Rhino Outclasses both nukers and damage support 'Frames, even though he was intended to be a tank?

Tell me something I don't know.

IMO Rhino needs to be a bodyguard, he needs to be able to take bullets for his allies and shrug them off.

Iron Skin fails to do this at high levels, and the aggro swap makes it a suicide button.

Rhino needs to be reworked yet again, unless we're going to follow Riot's Business plan and abuse power creep for cheap cash by making everyone obsolete tanky nukers that do "tons of damage"

  16.

Nova on the other hand needs scaling down and this is being addressed, Scott has already mentioned it.

Not really, She's in the same boat as Rhino. Being a Warframe that isn't very Cooperative.

In fact Nova is actually MORE cooperative then Rhino just by virtue of how squishy she is.

I think Neither need to be nerfed. They just need to be shifted or have some mechanical tweak that allows or forces them to be cooperative and play nicely with other players.

This is a cooperative game after all.

  17. Both these frames in their current state just annihilate the little depth this game had left.

    1. You don't give high mobility and high damage to an already very tanky character. It's 101 balance. Vanguard should never have been implemented.

I don't see Frost players complaining about their speed. Maybe they finally understoood that it's the counterweight to their high survavibility.

    2. You don't give ultimates high range and high damage. It's one or the other. Risk/reward ratio must be respected. Banshee's ult got nerfed for that. Be consistent.

Oh and you don't give ults high damage, high range AND CC ON THE TOP. That's just.../facepalm

Unless you want one guy to single-handedly ruin the whole party teamwork by pressing one button over and over again.

Yes, you don't need support or crowd control when ONE ability does it all at the same time. And kills the enemy anyway.

Way to promote co-op DE, nicely done.

    Essentially this.

It's not an issue of making them WEAKER, it's more of an issue of trying to make them Cooperative characters, rather then characters that force their allies to sit on the sidelines and watch as they play the game for them.

  18. From what I understand EVERYTHING will be effected by Armor in Damage 2.0.

Meaning that Electric damage will be on par.

And as there is no serrated blade damage, and the highest damage multiplier is +75%

Then that means that Electricity is going to be relatively better, especially considering it now does extra damage to Robotics and has a chance to Chain Damage.

And as Health and Armor are going down in general, this also helps out Electric damage as it's the only damage type that didn't get a nerf to go along with the global Hp and Armor decrease of enemies, rather a buff.

It might not fix Volt's problems but It'll definitely help make the load easier.

Volt's problems are more mechanical then numerical. You just can't simply buff his numbers.

He's going to have to have a few core mechanic reworks because he is just badly made.

Shock requiring pin-point accuracy, improper chain mechanics, Electric shield contradicting Speed.

I've got a thread on all of Volt's mechanical issues, and the ways to fix them. The list is pretty hefty and it's an obligatory wall of text.

It's the one with the cheesy sonic quotes.

  19. I said this in the other Volt thread, shield should hover in front of volt and do electric damage and knock down enemies it comes into contact with. I want to use Volt as a big fast battering ram.

Making the Shield follow him is pretty much the only way to make Volt not have contradictory abilities.

Speed tells that you to basically rush mindlessly through the level.

While electric shield requires you to stand in one spot but is still terrible for defense.

Also isn't there a mod already in the game that does something like that? Retribution?

  20. Saryn, Ember, Volt...?

You mean the three people have been screaming for a buff for for the last eon?

That's my point exactly. They don't have the ridiculous base damage and do not scale into late game.

Saryn and ember, are at least functional to an extent.

Volt fails to deliver past the few Corpus missions left on Mars.

Those are problems with those Warframes, not problems with Nova.
