Yeah, you are right. I don't like removing interaction with my other self (Eternalism) to open doors. Going into 2 different "personas" to open doors is what makes it fun!

It feels awful to use this ability in most regular starchart mission because it just teleports you to the doorway instead of to where you're pointing. It feels especially bad when trying to hit an enemy. It's feels like there are a bunch of invisible walls all around the level when using this ability.

people did combos and weren't just holding w and mashing e or spamming heavy attack repeatedly? news to me o.o

"A little". Standing or moving are combos as well but not something unusual. I sometimes use block combo depending on type/stance. For example some heavy blades has moving & spinning combo for block+move. Bullet dance (gunblades) have broken moving combo so I either do block+moving or just move & shoot (but that's problem of broken stances).

    And of course slamming.

I just cant help but feel like its a little bit of an oof that the "combo" mechanic of actually doing well, combos feels completely dead now. To me anyway.

Some of things are dead or not very useful because it's either broken (e.g. bullet dance's moving combo stops your frame) or there are better alternatives (e.g. one combo just do more damage/range/something). Stances are mostly 2 maybe 3 usable combos.

I would also like to see the end of the stat stick mechanic. It's frankly stupid regardless of how powerful results it can produce.

For example? I personally use to have actual insomnia. I use to struggle turning my brain off, my body would be tired, but I couldn't rest, so I use to end up on a bunch of places online. Youtube, Forums, Wikipedia dives. Of course that didn't help my insomnia. I also didn't really want to take certain medication, but I did find a decent solution in a few different ways. One way was exercising and working out much more. The other was being a lot more creative, and keeping creative journals and sleep journals and doing more art and creative writing. I also improved my diet as well. Those three things meant my body and mind were actually tired at appropriate times, it was easier to fall asleep, and I felt better when I woke up, and not as tired or exhausted, which also let me do more things I enjoy, so my own behaviour and new patterns created a new routine I consciously preferred.

In my opinion (I've heard it a lot as well) is that being healthy is good for you. Good diet (not too much junk food), exercise, sleeping (in your case it's different, more later) helps when person is struggling with something. Of course it's not foolproof but it at least gives you more chances of succeeding in what you want achieve. In case of some illness it's little bit different. You cannot just, for example like in your case "go to sleep". You achieved it via some other methods as well. That's probably very deep topic.

To be super serious and candid, usually there is an underlying reason why peoples habits and activity follow certain patterns.

Your post reminded me of a book my therapist recommended to me called, "Laziness Doesn't Exist".  To broadly summarize one idea from it that has been impactful for me (and could potentially apply to OP's situation), we all have finite amounts of focus and energy that can only be restored with rest.  Alongside that is the fact that over thousands of years, human minds and bodies have been shaped by the process of evolution, meaning that quite often things that seem undesirable about our bodies are actually ways that our bodies are trying to take care of us.  So like, why do we get distracted?  One reasonable theory is that when we run low on our ability to focus, we get distracted because that's our body's way of encouraging us to rest so that we can recover, rather than just grinding ourselves into the ground.  Of course, our society still carries with some very Puritanical ideas that tend to be poor at acknowledging day-to-day human limitations, instead seeing them as weaknesses that we should overcome through sheer willpower.  So getting distracted?  That's seen as some kind of deficiency that we just need to push through.  But if the aforementioned theory is correct, then that's similar to teaching people that being thirsty is a personal deficiency that we just need to push through.

I like "opposite" theory. I think I've heard it via watching one of Jordan Peterson lectures. Theory is that human body (brain) evolved to "catch" every danger. We had to be perceptive in order to avoid danger. Many times in e.g. minute we try to understand our surroundings. We look at green "things". Is this snake? Did you hear that? Was that lion? So on and so forth. Our brain "likes" to be stimulated like this. However our surrounding evolved. We are in digital era. We have much more but different stimuli.

Idea 2) The weapon type that appears from a downed Larvling/Candidate can be influenced by the weapon type that deals the final blow:

Or what if you have 3 groups based on difficulty?

Say for Tenet you go into 1 of 3 Parvos' hady stuff. Each level give you different weapon, e.g.:

    1st) Plasmor, Detron, tetra

    2nd) Cycron, flux riffle, Plinx,

    3rd) Envoy, Diplos, spirex

For Kuva it would be based on levels, for example, 0-30, 31-50, 51-80. and same as above, you would have 3 groups.

Then you can simply add weapon to the group. The lowest level could be just stat boost (new element, +crit/status etc). Just boring stuff. 2nd & 3rd would be with some changes (e.g. Flux riffle changes from Battery system to normal magazine. The higher change - the higher group level it would go.

I guess I was too early:

dea 3) Assign sub-groups of specific weapon choices to specific Larvling/Candidate spawning nodes to split up their respective weapon pools into several smaller ones:

    1 hour ago, Novashank said:

    B. Rather than having control over which elemental damage bonus the desired weapon will have, you must hope that Ergo Glast randomly has it whenever you decide to visit him, and if not, you must wait for his inventory to reroll which takes several days, and you may have to wait for this several times, which could take several weeks. This is even so much worse than Candidate hunting for players who want the weapon asap.

To be honest, I would go with some sort items or conversion instead of acquiring specific weapon.

Say you have Tenet Glaxion with 25.01% Toxin. You want Magnetic 60%. So you want many Tenet glaxion and at least 1 Tenet glaxion with magnetic (or just ~60% magnetic). This proces is not hard or "very" long (excluding holokeys & Ergo blast). However that's for only 1 weapon. What if you want many weapons? Or weapon with other elements (e..g. magnetic & radiation)? Without moding (&co) you have to refarm all stuff.

My idea is that you can somehow:

    a) increase percentage without acquiring same weapon

    b) change bonus element without acquiring weapon with other element, potentially decreasing a little percentage

    This could be:

    - change weapon/sister/brother to item that "changes element to X"

    - mission drops above items (e.g. random or based on sister/brother bonus)

This way you still have reason to go to sister/brother version of mission.

    1 hour ago, Novashank said:

    A. Since there is no in-game announcement that some of the Tenet weapons are acquired from Ergo Glast and not from Tenet Candidate hunting, many players have wasted countless hours trying to acquire, for example, the Tenet Ferrox when it was released, not suspecting that a non-melee weapon would for the first time be introduced to Ergo Glast's inventory rather than the Candidate pool. It would need to somehow be made clear to players who don't adhere to the Warframe Fandom website like the Bible, that some of the weapons are acquired via a different route than the rest.

    And some players aborted missions.

Whole Tenet/Kuva stuff is very mysterious. I read (more or less) announcements & stuff so I knew how to spawn Kuva on "release". After MANY months I thought about getting some kuva weapons. I was bewildered how can you even not spawn it. Like you have some node, e.g. survival. You go check drop table, rotation etc. How about Kuva brother? When light flickers you need to kill X enemies. EAsy? Yeah. What if you are doing some not kill related stuff? You would miss whole Kuva system!

IMHO, whole system should be better explained. It should be more than "oh, you get lucky". Say for Tenet, you to Hand. Lotus says something about Ergo blast knowing some "stuff". You go to Ergo, he explain Tenet weapons, show you 4-5 etc. Kuva? Lotus could announce "Hey, lets kill more enemies maybe something happens, *wink wink*".

Toxin. If it works the way it works right now, who cares about magnetic vs Corpus? We'll still run toxin, and Corpus still will be a joke.

    1 hour ago, Wesuteru said:

The way things are looking, everyone will STILL mod for viral + slash, or heat + corrosive. Nothing changes. These element changes are cute, but viral+slash or heat+corrosive are miles ahead of them. Modding weapons is such an unengaging experience, because you run the same mods on every weapon. 2 mods for viral, hunter munitions, crit, galvanized chamber & aptitude.

Melee arcanes shook it a little. Mele vortex & influencer increases your range. Vortex need magnetic, Influencer needs electric. I personally like Vortex as it's more reliable. I don't like overly complex structures (e.g. procing magnetic using companion) so I slap it mostly into 1 weapon. So I have magnetic (cold + electricity). I can mod for heat, toxin or gas.

    17 minutes ago, Joezone619 said:

Not to mention shield recharge on enemies doesn't matter if they die in 1 shot anyways. Fact is they need to either nerf viral, and corrosive, or make the other elements do something to make enemies die faster.

They could make all damage deal same damage value BUT it would behave differently.

This change is definitely needed. I think some people forget that unless you're following some kind of guide or meta, armor can completely wall a new player once they hit grineer steel path.
These changes arent for veterans that optimize and have setups to 100% armor strip on almost every frame they play.

If you are in Steel path you are not new player. You have access to armor strip via many methods (abilities, helminth, archon shards - more or less). This change would affect someone in the middle between new player and pre steel path. New player doesn't really have access to armor strip and armor is not huge. Steel path and higher level have lot of armor so a lot of ehp from armor that you could just remove would need to be damaged usual way.

If they're lowering armor but increasing health to compensate, doesn't EHP stay the same?

In the devstream, Pablo stated that the goal wasn't to keep the EHP the same, just to stop the enemies becoming paper-thin - we'll have to see what the numbers end up.

And in the workshop post I quoted they say about "similar time to kill". It won't be exactly same EHP. However it depends how they understand "time to kill". 1 bullet per second doing 100 damage? Does it include armor strip? Now I can do very small amount of damage while after armor stripping I can kill enemies.

If you're talking about your own visual effects bothering you, you might want to look at your Visual Effects Intensity setting or your other video settings.

I've probably all settings turned off. Visual effect at ~1/2. It's still MESS. One thing is almost invisible while other thing is e.g. big ball of light.

And I'm not sure if they fixed it because I've changed pc (old laptop, 8gb with integrated to gtx+8gb ram). Gas used to lower my fps a lot. Now I don't see that stuff with gas (at least, I've not done whole room with gas).

Yes. For example you strip e.g. 50-75% of their EHP so you need to deal only 50-25% damage.

Which is why armor stripping doesn't affect these kinds of enemies to begin with... You shouldn't be able to just snap your fingers and skip 50-75% of every fight that's presented to you.

I disagree. I prefer "snap finger" (corrosive + shard is little more) than "tickling enemies". They should be stronger (more durable) but not to the point where other enemies dies quickly and this just doesn't care about your damage.

What if a version of her still exists in one of the versions of reality that we are theoretically able to access through the Paradox?

It honestly depends how far we will go with whole Entrati stuff. There aren't many people that deals with Void on such large scale as Grandpa.

Where's the big Wally in this situation? And... What is Wally? A manifestation of the Void.... Or the Void itself? It is hinted that it was first found by Albrecht Entrati. Some say Entrati created Wally.

AFAIR Wally were very old entity. Was it created via void/Entrati? We don't really know. What we know that Murmur (Wally as well?) doesn't understand emotions or how to talk. That might what Entrati Albrecht created - Wally character with "fear" as main characteristic.

    17 minutes ago, AgaTheFox said:

Why would Wally be a simple manifestation of one man's fear of the Void? The Void itself is not devoid of emotion, nor does it have emotion. It is nothing, it is everything. The Void is the space between timelines. But Wally, he's not indifferent.

Void can create "stuff" from emotions. Indifferent, for me, means that he doesn't really understand emotions. He (they, murmur) just copy it.

AFAIC solo there's plenty of room for increasing visuals.  They absolutely should make "Reduce Teammate Visual Effects" work better.  But that's a major project, and this is more like a small qol.

If that bothers you, well, the good news is gas isn't popular, and that's not going to change much without mechanical changes.

Why we need more visuals? Weapon deals Gas pros > it damage enemies. That's it. As fair I remember Gas doesn't spready other elements. You, for example, don't want to shoot e.g. toxic  damage to make some "super combination". Gas is readable enough, imho.

I find visual feedback a pleasing feature as long as it's not overdone  I'd say it's actually a bit more important in the case of gas relative to other status effects.  Like other effects, one can look at the status bar of the enemy to know whether it's activated.  Unlike other status effects though, gas procs persist after a target's death--and dead target = no status bar--and damage enemies that haven't been directly inflicted with gas status.

Gas status actually does have a visual, but it's hard to see or outright invisible in some locations.  Hopefully this is more a matter of fixing  the current visual feedback or improving it.  If they go too far and make it too visually busy, that would be a mistake as well.

The thing is lots of visuals are mashed together. More visuals won't make it better. I think they need reduce visuals first THEN maybe increase gas.

Presumably, enemies immune to armor stripping would still be immune to armor stripping. They're immune to armor stripping because they're supposed to be walking bullet sponges, no? So why would they now become vulnerable? DE made the same exceptions for the upcoming Cold snap freezing and CD bonus, which won't affect those types of enemies either.

That's what I'm suggesting - for them to be less stupid bullet sponges.

    Gas
Gas often lacks effective readability, making it difficult to distinguish its presence from the Enemy or yourself. It’s important to introduce enhanced visuals for the Gas Status so its presence is noticeably present.

Some ideas we had were to, which are very prone to change:

    • Extends the range of the Gas Cloud FX based on the range of the Status (caps at 6m at 10 stacks).
    • Additional FX added to affected enemies to communicate Status activity.
    • Gas FX having billowy volume to better present presence.
    • Gas FX having additional floating particles around the smoke.
    • Enemy Gas FX having additional red coloring to communicate threat to player.

Why we need more visuals? Weapon deals Gas pros > it damage enemies. That's it. As fair I remember Gas doesn't spready other elements. You, for example, don't want to shoot e.g. toxic  damage to make some "super combination". Gas is readable enough, imho.

  18. With Jade shadow workshop we will get armor strip change - fully armor stripping wouldn't be necessary (more or less). With armor strip abilities, Corrosive archon shard, Heat etc there is many ways to armor strip. What about enemies that are immune to armor stripping? Maybe allow to strip some part of their armor so they won't be walking bullet sponges?

  19. As for Jade shadow workshop:

    Quote
    1. Health scaling of Grineer enemies will be re-aligned, to an extent, to help compensate for the loss in Damage Reduction and to try and maintain a similar time-to-kill feel.

This should reduce the feeling for necessary total Armor Strip, while making partial Armor Strip more impactful.

This will just make you hit that grineer X times more. Nothing more. The point of armor strip is to remove huge chunk of EHP in one go. With e.g. one cast of armor strip ability you remove 1 000 000 EHP. With above change you cannot do it anymore. It won't make similar time-to-kill UNLESS it's around (maybe few times) base hp (100% armor stripped).

I have some issues with it.  I don’t love the trend of handicapping players that modern games seem to be following.  That said, DE likely has engagement numbers for EDA, and if they thought it was unpopular, I imagine they’d make changes and potentially even acknowledge it on stream.

Doing E/DA doesn't mean you enjoy it. Make archon shards & arcanes freely available and see how many people will play it.
