So after 6 hours of attempting to get an Archon kill, trying both solo and in a squad, I can officially say that Archon Hunts ARE #*!%ING HARD, I have great mods but holy #*!% why is this fight unnecessarily tedious

Why is the Archon getting tickled by my 5 forma'ed weapons?

Why does the Archon have random invulnerable windows?

Why is there a cap on the status stacks?

Why does the Archon keep healing?

    Why is dying extremely punishing?

Why am I punished for my squad mates' mistakes?

Why are NONE of the Warframe abilities working on the boss?

    Why are there add phases?

Why are almost ALL the enemies Eximus?

Why are objectively weak Warframes getting a bonus in health and damage?

I don't care who exploited this fight and when they did so DE "had" to buff the fight

I don't care if the top 0.02% would get bored if this fight was made more reasonable

I don't care which Twitch stream that no-lifed this game thinks about content

This crap needs a nerf in any capacity, I don't even care how they nerf it but at this point; I will take anything

    Heres a humble suggestion.

Get felarx or kuva hek. Build for as much radiation damage as possible. Use a frame that is really good at not dying, like inaros, wukong, or better yet revenant.

Use primary deadhead. Use a damage boosting ability like roar. Headshot the archon. Laugh when like half his health bar goes down at once even if he doesnt get 1 shot out right.

They have something called damage attenuation. A lot of weapons just dont work very well for that reason. They will "adapt" to your DPS. But you can avoid that to a large extent if you just pile on a buttload of multishot and "jump" the attenuation.

Theres youtube guides that go into more detail just search like "archon build" or something you should find it.

It may be helpful to look at what strategies are most effective against Archons. You're struggling because you're likely not using the right type of weapon.

Archons are in the endgame content category. You're expected to know how they work in order to do them effectively.

Yeah like he said. Theyre meant to be difficult.

But with the right loadout theyre still a pushover.

I don't run panzer. I run Moas, Helios, Shade and Dethcube. Most players were told to use panzer (not saying that's you) and that other companions are weak. That's their fault. Run what you like, adjust for the strengths and weaknesses of the entire loadouts, and ball out!! Sometimes you guys sound so monolithic, as if your imaginations are not allowed.

"Adjust for the strengths and weaknesses"

    Jesus christ.

When the devs kept teasing a pet rework throughout the year i imagined a full rework for every kubrow, kavat and sentinel (or at least the ones that are really niche) and not just reworking the death/reviving mechanic but with what was said during tennocon it seems like the only thing being changed is reviving mechanic and tbh that's kinda disappointing as panzer will still be superior and powercreep any other companion because the ability to proc viral is just so much more powerful than what any kubrow/kavat/sentinel brings

They said they were looking at survivability and revive mechanics.

I dont think they said thats all theyre doing.

I think its too early to get excited about it bud.

Personally right now i feel like the only companions even worth having are, in no particular order, 1) djinn because it can respawn infinitely albeit with a timer eventually 2) smeeta for farming resources 3) panzer vulp for viral and not dying

Literally every other companion is ruined by being way too squishy, not being able to bring enough upside to the table to compensate for giving up one of those other 3, or both.

In my humble opinion survivability/revive mechanics should be looked at first, then the next step would be looking at mods and such.

Which means you are basing your entire opinion on post action. You just said you already have them so you're not even thinking about what the rewards and SP Circuit represents anymore. In addition, your lack of effort into learning how to make the weapon work means you're choosing to ruin your own fun and learning potential. Even the weakest setups can become clutch with the right decrees.

It's an endgame mode. SP is an endgame mode. It's supposed to be a good way to see what you, and your gained arsenal, can do. Those rewards should come with a uniques set of rules and, personally, I think the randomizer system is a great idea. In fact, it calls out a lot of players who just collect and forget, removing the guaranteed "meta setup" and allowing some thinking to take place. That is exactly what I expect from a game that offers hundreds of unique weapons: force me into scenarios where my laziness and neglect can come back to bite me.

    >even the weakest set ups can become clutch.

This isnt some secret. Im well aware.

I *can* go into steel path circuit and make it with "whatever".

Even if i have garbage weapons they'll eventually be useable if i get enough decrees.

And even if i get truly trash weapons and truly trash decrees chances are whatever people i randomly match with are going to be more than adequate to get at least a few rounds.

But this isnt about "omg its too hard" or "omg i cant get it done reee". Its. Just. Not. Fun. To me.

And apparently im not the only one.

And if *you* have a different subjective opinion on what is and isnt "fun" thats fine.

But its another thing to fail at comprehending the situation outright.

"lack of effort learning how to make the weapon work". Pfft. Please.

There are a lot of frames and weapons i just dont care for.

For example, idk, octavia. Do i know how to use her? Sure. Is she "bad"? Absolutely not. Ffs she's one of the strongest frames in the game. Infinitely scaling damage, basically turns the ai off, and can basically chill in permanent invis.

But that isnt fun to me. Spamming t bag for invis just feels silly to me in an immersion breaking way and i dont care for it.

    Thats just one example.

As for weapons? Pick pretty much anything. Get devastating attrition and some decrees like "enemies spread status effects" "cold on crit" "extra crit damage on cold enemies" "extra dmg per status" etc etc and something like braton (without incarnon) will be useable. This aint some uber advanced gameplay secret only a few geniuses can figure out.

    "Youre not even thinking about-"

No, what im thinking about is the fact that steel path circuit is a slog and DE for whatever reason mysteriously and suddenly became utterly infatuated with having a "roguelike mode" in their game for no reason and spent years of dev time working on that when they could have worked on something else.

And they refused to listen to any of the feedback they were getting about the randomizer being unfun.

Instead their "compromise" was to buff the hell out of decrees. Lol. Lmao even.

It really is hilarious to me because you cant even tell me its about "balance" or "challenge" anymore.

I would have less beef with the system if it wasn't for the fact that most of the starter builds are bafflingly terrible, modding for things like impact damage etc.

"Well just make a good build for everything in the game".

I find that absurd, because in order to actually make a consistent difference in your circus choices youd have to put multiple forma in *a lot* of gear or basically all of it.

And for what? Just to not use 99% of it 99% of the time anyway?

Just to make sure that my Tysis is ready on the off chance it comes up in circuit?

When i could just clutch on the decree system and or team?

Your post smells like white knightism and it sounds like you wanna have your cake and eat it too:

Well laziness can come back to bite you if you dont mod ALL THE THINGS but also the decrees can make anything good.

    No.

Everything about SP is designed for us to be able to use our entire arsenal, that players claim makes the game too easy, and be able to test and be challenged. The way SP Circuit is built is for us to actually pay attention to our arsenals, optimize the builds, think of a strategy with what you got (owned or not) and then supplement the setup with the perks from the decrees. If we had the choice of using our best every time, then what would be the point? Also, you would be surprised what your weapons can do when a certain decree gets added. Suddenly, that weapon gains a performance that is not available in the rest of the game.

    I disagree.

"Optimize every weapon in the game even the ones you would normally never use just on the off chance you might use them in the circuit" doesnt feel like a reasonable ask.

Some weapons just arent *fun* but even if i just "get over it" we're talking about an insane amount of forma and grind for.. stuff im not gonna use 99.99% of the time.

Or i could just say F it and use whatever and crutch on my teammates and or the decree system because all i *really* need to do is just not die.

Or i could just not play circuit. At all. All the incarnon adapters that exist right now are either already in my inventory or i just dont care.

Please can we make it easier to get platinum other than trades or paying real money for it. Or at least make it so you can sell items to a NPC for platinum or create missions/bounties to get it. I'm not talking about a lot of it just enough so you can buy weapon slots and etc. Being free to play is very frustrating and it's hard to find anyone that wants to do trades.

I wish actual money was easier to get. Other than like. Working for it or selling goods and or services.

    Greetings, Tenno!

We’re back in action after TennoCon 2023 - and our number one priority is addressing the community’s reaction to the Heirloom Collection.

We missed the mark here and understand the feedback we're receiving because of it. After taking some time to review and evaluate our options based on the concerns, we have opted to increase the Platinum amounts in all Heirloom Packs.

The Feedback we can address for the current Heirloom Collection:

“The value of the Packs does not justify the price point.”

    Our Change to Address:

We are increasing Platinum to all Heirloom Packs to bring them alongside Prime Access standards:

    • Increase Platinum in Risen Pack: 400 to 800
    • Add Platinum in Celestial Pack: 800
    • Increase Platinum in Zenith Pack: 600 to 2100

*The Platinum will be delivered via in-game Inbox to accounts that have already purchased the respective Packs. We are coordinating our efforts now to arrange the Inbox send, and Hotfix required. We will signal when the Inbox has been delivered on all Platforms.

Similar to how Regal Aya bundles launched with no Platinum and were met with strong feedback, we agree Heirloom Packs need more value to justify their status.

This decision was made to address the feedback and maintain the expectations we had set for players upon the release of the Heirlooms (time exclusivity and Pack contents). In doing so, we are able to increase the value of pack contents in a way that does not remove any value for Tenno who have bought them. We do not feel it would be fair to those who purchased an Heirloom Collection already with the understanding that they were time-limited to now remove that element. Those who have purchased simply get more, and ultimately they are now a good Platinum deal with exclusive Cosmetics.

Heirloom Collections are intended to be unforgettable (for the right reasons) - we are also discussing ways we can better preserve that feeling of legacy, quality, and prestige for future Heirloom Collections (if we make more).

We truly appreciate your feedback and concerns and recognize the responsibility we have in ensuring that any new directions we take with cosmetic exclusives are done with much more careful consideration. The Heirlooms were designed with the celebratory nature of this year's TennoCon and 10-year anniversary, and it's on us to ensure that you, as a player, feel that we are upholding years of lessons learned when it comes to selling cosmetic exclusives. If we continue with this series, we are dedicated to ensuring all future Heirloom Collection releases have more purchase flexibility and reflect all feedback we received during this launch.

    Thank you, Tenno!

They should be purchasable without having to pay for a huge bundle to bloat the price.

They should be purchasable for plat like every other skin.

Soulframe looks great! I'm looking forward to reading Steve's poems and sitting with deer and throwing swords into peoples faces.

    What are your thoughts?

I couldnt possibly be less interested.

I keep coming back to warframe because i like the power fantasy, the fast paced movement, the sense of agility, and the sheer variety of weapons/builds/tactics at our disposal.

We can give them the benefit of the doubt and say "but you'll still have power fantasy" (we dont know that. Maybe they'll listen to the nerf herders with this one)

And say "but the variety of weapons and builds will be there too! It wont JUST be roll around with a sword!"

    But rip everything else.

That and, as much as i love DE, I am skeptical that they can deliver a product that can compete with something like Elden Ring.

In the same way Id be skeptical if the developers that made Forza turned around and said hey we're gonna make a sci fi mmo rpg.

It's not similar outside of pricing, though, and there are many reasons people are upset beyond just the price point.

    Speaking only for only myself:

    • I want DE to monetize the game too. That's why I buy platinum and Regal Aya, which I cannot spend on these packs like I can on all other deluxe skins. So unless someone is asking for these packs to be completely free, there is no "entitlement" here. I'm a paying customer and I want to pay for these cosmetics with the premium currency I've already paid for. That's why I paid for it!
    • People have always raised concerns about exclusive content that never returns. This isn't a new criticism, it's just the most recent and highest profile instance.
    • People have always raised concerns about how bundles are padded with unwanted items. This also isn't a new criticism, and many actions have been taken by DE to allow bundled content to be purchased individually. An easy example is Prime Accessories, which were only added as a separate purchasing option later. Another easy example is the Lunar Renwal content, which had bundle-exclusive content but, after obvious and immediate controversy, every year following has allowed the bundled items to be purchased individually.
    • These are full deluxe skins, not the single weapon skin or Orbiter decoration like those found in other cash-only exclusive supporter packs. If you wanted to compare it to Prime Access, it'd be like locking a Prime frame's appearance behind the PA paywall which obviously they do not do.
    • These will never return, unlike Prime Access accessories which always returns later, at a cheaper price, that can be purchased individually, using a premium currency people can have already purchased.
    • The 10-year accolade being locked behind a cash-only paywall feels particularly yucky. Players who buy plat have still supported the game. Players who buy merch have still supported the game. Having the only way to visually show your support on your ingame profile being to pay cash for it just feels yucky. The accolade specifically should either be part of the other 10-year content like the Dex Operator suit, or should be given freely to anyone who has purchased anything over the past 10 years. Wouldn't that just feel so much nicer?

You don't have to understand any of this, but not understanding someone doesn't make them "entitled".

I feel exactly the same way. Ive probably spent over 1k dollars on this game on plat and access/accessories packs.

I love warframe and i like supporting DE but this feels like theyre milking it.

  11. A lot of people have been wanting to know how trading would work for a long time.

We dont even know if cross trade is gonna be a thing at all at this point but i kinda figure it would have to be unless they wanna do something like say accounts made on xbox can only trade with accounts made on xbox even if one of them is on another platform or something.

I was hoping that would get mentioned at tennocon. Rip.

I regularly buy plat and Regal Aya and thus don't mind the pricing; seems reasonably as a bundle considering the cost of the rest as stand-alone items.

That said I can see why some people are upset at this. Even if they were offered a bundled without Raya and Plat they would not accept not being able to use the plat they've farmed for cosmetics.

Ignoring the FOMO, would those people be more open if the bundled had been titled Primed Heirloom Collection as it would have signaled the expectation of a direct cash transaction (As opposed to plat) as with each and every single Prime accessory?

    I regularly buy plat/access/accessories.

    The pricing is one issue.

I dont like how much stuff is "bundled" to bloat the price.

And most importantly imo is im concerned about this "becoming a thing".

If this goes well enough for them we might start seeing a lot of other skins for cash only, while also part of a huge bundle only.

The 6 regal aya is priced by DE themselves at $40 on this website. So the two skins would be $30 if they didn't make you buy regal aya. So by that, it's a regal aya bundle first and foremost since it takes up more of the cost.
Shouldn't have to buy $40 worth of stuff I can't use just to get 2 skins.

The plat in the higher tier bundle is worth around $35 by DE's price standards. Again, more you have to pay out just to get the Heirloom items. The majority of cost in all of the bundles comes from the padding thrown into them, not the heirloom items based on DE's pricepoints around plat and regal aya which is sad.

I can buy regal aya and plat elsewhere from DE as they offer both at the same price as they are in these bundles elsewhere on DE's website and in game. If I wanted plat or regal aya i'd buy it from the already available bundles they offer outside of the heirloom bundle.

I could almost live with the "bundle" aspect but the 6 aya is a bruh moment.

I dont need it. At all.

The other day I took some time in the Simulacrum to do some testing and optimize the builds of some of my Incarnon weapons, with the intent of making my overall Arsenal better suited for SP Circuit — meaning each weapon needed to be entirely self-sufficient.  I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised, but I was definitely disappointed by the overwhelming amount of weapons that killed faster and more efficiently when equipped with Hunter Munitions (or Hemorrhage, when applicable).  In most builds, Heat took both more time and ammo to achieve kills.  Even Slash-weighted weapons with high status — modded with a pair of 60/60 mods to give Viral — generally seemed to be more effective when modded with Hunter Munitions than simply relying on Slash to occur via "natural" procs.

Previously I had known that Slash was easily one of the most powerful statuses in the game, but this left me feeling like Slash and in particular, Hunter Munitions  isn't simply powerful, but that it's currently so dominant in higher-end content that it may limit build and weapon variety.  That's just my perspective based on my experiences though, so I'm curious to hear what others feel.

"Viral hunter munitions build" has been the go to for long enough i dont see it changing any time soon.

    On 2023-08-20 at 1:37 PM, 0_The_F00l said:

Slash procs are the most effective at killing pretty much anything in the game cause it has the nasty benefit of simply ignoring the most prevalent means that enemies have to reduce damage, that is armour.

And hunter munitions triggers on another thing that has some special properties of its own - critical damage. Irrespective of the actual weapon having any slash weightage.

So you pair the two together and you have a recipe for game breaking damage output.

It definitely added more punch to weapons that were ignored before when hunter munitions was released , but it made other weapons obsolete as well.

Overall I think its ok , but i also think it's time slash got some changes.

Im afraid DE would screw up the game somehow if they touched it. They seem to act like the only tool in the chest is a hammer sometimes.

Invigorations (the weekly buffs you can pick-up from helminth) have been around a pretty long time now.   How do you guys feel about the system??  How often do you take them.   If not, whats stopping you??

    ============

I do not take them that often..........Primarily because I dont play alot anymore.   But I check to see whats there each week and sometimes there are buffs I would love to have.   But even if I was playing alot I kinda do not like being tied down to one warframe for a week at a time.   Duviri - Cricuit has made this issue even worse since that takes away your ability to choose.

This would prob be a nightmare to program but could we take an invigoration on a specific warframe and only have the week long timer count down while we are using it??  When we are not using that frame the count down gets paused???   Forseeable problem is having multiple frames with invigorations active....

Would it be possible to just make the buffs generic to your account.  Like if you got +200% strength invigoration it would just apply to every frame you use for that week.

Thats all... I just feel like they are to restrictive.    Maybe we could see some new buffs that are account wide.   Like x2 standing,  no standing cap,   Halved build times.  I dont know.

Maybe we get a choice of 3 invigs but we get to control which one to add to a specific frame instead of it being random....

One is giving range, one is giving armor,  one is giving strength.  You could attach any of the three to whatever frame you wanted for the week.  No changing the attached frame after.

    Pretty much never.

I'll check every week and go figure its always something dumb like yareli/hydroid/hydroid.

And i dont feel like dealing with the "punch card" mechanic.

Every time I fight the Jackal (not the one in Duviri) I'm reminded of the fact we can clearly be seen using the Parazon as a grappling hook and it makes me think. "Why can't we use this elsewhere?" or "What if we could use it as part of the parazon system?" and having a Jackal sortie reignited that thought.

The only thing I can see this negatively effecting is the Archwing and Valkyr Ripline, but I always felt they should be reworked anyway.

Though I can admit with how free Warframes parkour system already is, that this wouldn't add a whole lot in the grand scheme, but it could be fun if instead of using it just to pull yourself to a wall, ceiling or etc. You could use it to swing vertically and horizontally around anchor points. Similar to something like Spiderman, or even Attack on Titan's ODM gear.

I could see it being a thing. And it might be fun if it was a thing. But i give it about a zero percent chance of happening.

Between the current parkour system, void sling, arch wings, all the speed buffs we have access to, i dont think theres a need for us to have yet another way to parkour around.

That and i feel like most of the games level design isnt ideal for a grapple hook.

Then why did you use that as the only other example in your response to Tiltskillet earlier? You are of thepo idea that either it gets nerfed to an unusable state, or it is pointless to nerf it at all. Balance itself is a thing aswell even if it doesnt change the usage numbers of the skill afterwards.

    "Balance is the third option!"

    Its already balanced.

There are plenty of helminth abilities that are just as good if not better.

    It isnt a dominant choice.

And clearly DE seems to agree at least for now because its been the way it is for how long already?

If we didnt have so many other options for crowd control/distraction then i could say "sure the slow is OP". But we do.

If we didnt have so many ways to heal i could sorta maybe see the heal being op. But we do. Not to mention shields and shield gating.

If it outclassed every other helminth ability (or close to it) i could see it being op. But it isnt.

Im not sorry i dont think we should nerf things just because.

  19. Ive been playing warframe for a long time but especially after duviri im a little confused about what it would take to merk a tenno.

Theres the warframe itself, thats one thing. And lore/gameplay wise it might vary how hard it is to destroy it.

    But what about the operator?

It kinda seems like its implied they cant really die permanently because of their connection to the void?

Warframes themselves can clearly be destroyed. We see stalker with a severed loki head. We know zenuka is made of warframe parts.

Saw an interesting video on trading.
And something came to mind - what if trade was done automatically?  Something similar to GW2's trade market (though in some ways better).

Consider this:  Have a location on your Orbiter - perhaps the same one the marketplace is
You can take anything you own that can be traded, and toss it in, adding the price you're willing to sell for.
Anyone can log in, see what's up for sale - and if the thing they want isn't, they can put in their 'bid' and how much they're willing to pay.
If there's a match (at that price or less), it happens automatically - and the person gets the thing they want.

When you check in later, it'll have whatever it is you wanted - the platinum from sales, or the items you purchased.
    No fuss, no muss.

    Thoughts?

    No.

Say you want a skin but its 165 plat (or whatever). You dont want to pay actual money for plat from the market because hey, money's a struggle these days i get it.

So you crack some relics and get yourself a mesa set (or whatever). As of right now when you decide to sell that mesa set you are competing with whoever is online wanting to sell a mesa set *and* in trade chat at the same time as you.

What youre suggesting, would make it so youre competing with EVERY player with a mesa set to sell period, online or not.

So the available supply of mesa sets (again, or whatever) at any given time is going to massively increase while the amount of demand will not increase much if at all.

Hell, i could effortlessly put up for sale every single random prime part or tradeable resource i have that currently isnt worth trying to sell individually. And so could everyone else. Which would saturate the market even more.

lf someone undercuts you by even 1p you wont sell before them.

i honestly believe this would be a net negative for free to players especially new free to players who dont already have everything or know how to get every new thing that comes out.

So an auction house? That's not happening.

    i hope not.

This is something that many MMO's have, and generally it's refered to as a "market board" or "auction house".  You are far from the first to suggest it.  Many people would like it, and it would go a long way towards facilitating trade.

That said, there's probably not a great incentive for DE to create such a system, given how costly it would be to make.

I suppose one could play devil's advocate and argue that if they did this and it tanked the value of what you could sell anything for because supply/demand is a thing, that making it *harder* to earn plat without paying for it would incentivize more plat purchases. And that *arguably* might actually more profitable for DE.

But, i dont think even if that was true that would be in the players best interest. And i think that would sour a lot of people. Whether the sour would outweigh that or not i dont actually know.

what i do know is ive always been quite fond of Warframe compared to examples like Destiny 2 or Apex because among other reasons the paywalls are much more player friendly.

i can reasonably expect to be able to earn enough plat to cover a skin or slot or whatever in a reasonable amount of time without a credit card.

If you care about the benefits of trading, or even the game in general, then automatic trading is something you shouldn't even be wanting.

This game doesn't support the systems necessary to facilitate an actual game economy with inventories being infinite, the need for all tradables being finite, and the lack of any form of maintenance/resource sink systems. What a full on auction house would do is result in prices tanking as players race to the bottom to see their items sell first. And bottomed out prices is a bad thing for players and DE.

The inconvenience of trading, even when through external sources like the forums and WFmarket, is the only thing that's propping up the value of items after the initial scarcity immediately dies. Just like how new Primes tank in value within days of a release as more players start trying to sell their sets and fewer players are looking to buy as they already have theirs.

Exactly, meanwhile all those things in the game with fixed prices, potatoes, warframe slots, riven slots, skins, etc, wont change in price. And will become *harder* to get without coughing up actual money.

Which is the ooppsite of what people asking for this generally want.

You're aware that most of what you say, especially in segment 2 and 3 strengthens the point that the game is not homogenized. You line up several different approaches to achieve something, in a classless, roleless game, all approaches that result in different gameplay and playstyles to achieve the end goal. Seems like according to you games such as the Elder Scrolls series, Fallout and Divinity for instance are also homogenized games, not to mention several free choice pen and paper rpg systems out there.

You also manage to scew things in an odd way, like comparing baseline defense frames to any other frame with a helminthed ability for defensive jobs. Does it not occur to you that helminth defensive skills are not limited to non-defense frames, and can be used on already defense focused frames to further increase the potential of their job. Just as the case with Garuda and Demo killing, where she can also use the skills to lock down demos even longer (which honestly isnt needed due to her innate stun and scaling slash).

There is nothing unique about Nekros gameplay in Disruption, that is the point, hence why he is brought up with the others as opposites to Garuda, which is a frame very well suited for single target killing of constantly increasing levels.

Also, if as you claim, choice didnt really matter, then how come there is such a massive gap between the usage of frames? And why are we seeing demands of reworks for several of them if Helminth and other options are so homogenizing as you claim. At that point no frame would need reworks, since choice according to you dont matter and helminth, shards and so on should solve everything else that might lack on one frame compared to another.

Lets also ignore that we have quite a few frames on the roster that practically never needs to fire their gun or swing their melee to kill efficiently. Would that be part of a homogenized system? Nope since everything would be nearly identical and play close to the same no matter the choice. Yet we sit here with frames that have a heavy near mandatory weapon focus, others with a mix to either a higher or lower extent and then we have those that simply do not care about weapons. Just there you already have 3 distinct gameplay approaches and styles.

Because overnerfing is the only option you see. Stop looking at it in such a black and white way. There is a wide selection of things that could be done to Gloom to still make it a good Helminth choice. I mean, Roar is only half strength and still a very solid Helminth option. Fractured Blast the same and so on. So there is alot of room to alter Gloom into something more balanced for a skill that can be applied to every frame and keeping it more unique to Sevagoth.

Even if the slow is cut in half it will still be a strong option. Both for the slow effect and the life steal.

Im starting to feel like youre only seeing what you want to see here.

I dont see "over nerfing as the only option" here.

I never said it was a black and white choice between leave it as is or make it so bad it might as well be deleted from the game entirely.

I just dont agree that nerfing it is necessary like you make it out to be.

If we go by DE's typical metric for when something "has to get nerfed" it would either have to be an overwhelmingly dominant choice (like catchmoon being >50% of all secondaries in the game) or something that cheeses/automates the game (pre nerf ember, old defy, wuclone bramma spam), and it is definitely neither of those things.

There are plenty of helminth abilities that are just as good if not better and it isnt like everyone and their mom uses gloom all the time. Its pretty rare for me to randomly match with someone using it and if i do it might actually be sevagoth doing it.

Which for some reason you seem missile locked on the idea that "that should be HIS thing". And for all i know if they gave *another* one of his abilties to helminth instead youd be sitting here saying NO NO **THAT** SHOULD BE HIS THING.

Nerfed roar is still good because having 50% bane damage against everything for 30 seconds is pretty good. If you have more power strength great if you have more duration great. It isnt a demanding ability to build for.

Lets say just for the sake of argument they came out tomorrow and said okay guys, gloom is now capped at 50% slow for everyone except Sevagoth.

What do you think is gonna happen? Suddenly people flock to sevagoth in droves to get full enjoyment out of "his thing?" Cuz im pretty confident that wont happen.

If they nerf the health steal, considering how much damage we can do compared to how "little" hp we have it would have to be one hell of a nerf to even notice so either a) it doesnt get "overnerfed" and it doesnt matter or b) it does matter and like i said before we end up with a more narrow meta. I dont see that as a good thing.

You dont see the point in an outlier skill getting changed while at the same time you think an "op" or outlier skill could indeed get a nerf? Since that is exactly what Gloom is, regarding both points, both and "op" skill and an outlier for Helminth.

@Tiltskillethas the right idea and good reasoning in the example regarding Sev, Gloom and Helminth.

You sneak in the premise that its "op" and an outlier and i see it as neither of those things.

I dont buy that the slow is op, when you need to build a certain way to get that much out of it, and even if you completely ignore that relevant fact there are several other crowd control abilities that either mess with enemies ability to do damage (shooting gallery), make the enemy AI basically non existent, (octavia's thing), or any of the blind cc abilities that basically turn the ai completely off. (Radial blind, breach surge, pocket sand, pull, larva, ensnare)

If none of those other things existed then i could maybe understand why someone would think that the cc aspect is OP.

As for the healing, sure its a pretty strong healing ability arguably the best but its not like we dont have other ways to heal ourselves that almost make this a non point or better yet frames and abilities that can mitigate damage to .0something percent or avoid damage entirely.

It isnt like gloom is such an overwhelmingly good choice that it makes all the other helminth abilities irrelevant (like bramma did for weapons)

I dont see a "problem" here that would be fixed by nerfing it. But even if DE just removed it from the game okay then what.

Wed all shrug and take one choice off the list of "good" helminth abilities.
