Torid and Angstrum can do it so why not other incarnons ? especially with torid almost being the best weapon in the game atm
Getting headshots can be so annoying when a single body shot literally kills the enemy or whatever nuking ability or aoe weapon someone from your squad keeps killing hordes of enemies with

I think it would be annoying and boring to have it this easy to charge Incarnons. Let me keep some type of accomplishing checkpoint.

Tbh we need either a rework of the augments system or an augment slot

Nah, not to this level of change. We especially don't need the mod slot. Having build limitations is a great thing because it supports thinking and give&take. Gaining the ability to nearly have it all would be boring.

so, summarizing the stuff we know:

    >he looks like a fountain pen
    >he has an exhalted tome called "noctua", which could mean night owl, night bird or little owl.
    >he has a quill hand which will be integral to his animations
    >his alt helmet makes him look like a wizard.

    abilities:
    1st: we don't know yet
2nd: book of life, function unknown
3rd: book of death, function unknown
4th: final chapter: function is determined by your last two casts of book of life and book of death.

the way i understand it, final chapter is supposed to do something different depending on which combination of books you use (life-life, life-death, death-life, death-death), this means it will have either 3 combinations (if order is not important) or 4 combinations (if order is important).

i find this concept quite cool, but if his 2nd and 3rd are just there to decide which function final chapter will have it'd be a great concept with poor execution since you may as well just rig the different functions of final chapter to the different ability slots and skip the "casting multiple abilities to get an effect" step altogether.

multi-cast or "synergetic-style" frames are already not the best, since their setup time is simply much higher than "press button to kill things" frames, meaning that in public missions they won't be as effective as your teammate who's on a nuke build.

as for the exhalted tome: i really hope this works like garuda's tallons, where it's part of his animations and if you have no sidearm equiped you can use the tome. if it's his 1st ability, then it's likely to just be the same kind of ability as balefire charger.

not that it really matters *too* much, because of another issue with synergetic frames: synergetic frames force you to use a specific slot for subsumes OR not do subsumes at all. in this case, if you subsume off his 2 or 3, you significantly nerf his 4. if you subsume off his 4, you limit the usefulness of his 2 and 3, therefore, you MUST subsume over his 1 if you wish to subsume at all.

honestly, for the core concept, i'd like to see the amount of books influencing final chapter to be increased to 3, with the order mattering this would lead to a total of 8 different effects and would give dante a real "versatile caster" vibe.

lastly, a small comment about his alt helmet: DE, please reconsider releasing this. If you color it all-white it'll look like uh.... a certain group of unsavoury people. it's already a given some edgelords will do this.

This is a bit too much wasted energy for something not touchable yet. We can't even get the popcorn out yet.

I like that it takes time to get these advanced weapons but I guess it depends on what side of the Warframe playstyle a player is on.

For me, I like to collecting weapons and mods passively, which keeps the discoveries fresh and exciting. The RNG or time gates are far less of an issue in the regard. However, I can see how a focused collector type of player would be less enthusiastic about not being able to get an item as efficiently as they would like.

Then again I still don't fully get how going into the giants sends people back in time

From what I remember, we experienced a transference interference when transferring to the vessel. Arthur is the vessel and, when we transferred in, we ended up being redirected to the point where Arthur was to meet up with Entrati. Albrecht set that up to happen. Unfortunately, Wally figured out the plan and cut tried to redirect us again.

IMO his 2 and 3 are OK, it's his 1 and 4 that desperately need buffing.

    - Spectral Scream should be converted to the damage calculations used by beam weapons after they were reworked, instead of the current status-per-second setup. even without tweaking the base damage of the ability this would result in an immense sustained DPS increase because it would be applying several times per second. the visuals should also reflect this, with it appearing as a true concentrated jet of flame with a noticeable AoE at the impact point of the stream. look up basically any image of a fantasy dragon breathing fire and you'll see what I mean.

    - Effigy should act like an exalted sentinel, with independent flight and attack patterns, and significantly reduced energy consumption or a set duration and cost. damage should be buffed and being able to apply Vex Armor, elemental ward to allies independently would also be kind of neat IMO.

Love these ideas! The beam weapon reference is especially cool and would fit perfectly to Chroma's setup.

The sentinel effigy idea has been on my mind for a long time! Combined with the improved 1 ability, effigy could be a really powerful ability that falls in line with other high offense oriented frames.

Maybe he lost his pen and couldn't write any more notes! :P

Or maybe Arthur got sucked into a time-space rift and the doctor thought he was dead!

Now we're heading into soap opera territory! Endless possibilities there!

Who is to say Arthur doesn't become cryogenically frozen for a gazillion years?

Until discovered to be the case, I have no reason to move in that direction. Following the clues lead to a faster revelation for me, and the current clues say that Arthur was in the care and control of Dr. Entrati. Wouldn't the notes specify that the Dr lost his patient?

Or that Fry in Futurama is his own grandfather...

Its almost like there are no rules with sci-fi time travel shennanigans.

Also, what you're suggesting in no way is the same thing. We don't know who arthur is, so we don't know where he ends up. What you've done is create a false equivalency.

Entrati s notes describe Arthur, his role and what he eventually becomes. Stalker, on the other hand, is from the Orokin era, a witness of the Tenno and, ultimately, becomes a frame.

Now, what I'm curious about is how exactly does Stalker's frame work? Is it sentient, like Umbra, or a special instance of transference from a non-tenno? Or, perhaps, a cephalon infused into a frame?

Highly doubt any of the console companies give a damn about excal prime existing.

There isn't a reason for DE to keep it on PC only, a bit unfair for the people that basically funded the game

It's not just the console companies DE has to worry about though. The original console players were never given the opportunity to be founders, so it's best to not stir up any additional animosity in the community.

Gas and Blast are the two damage types that are probably in the worst place imo (Magnetic is fine in theory, the issue there is more that Toxin renders it moot), I recently built a Zakti Prime and while it's fun as hell to spam AoE darts...the Gas damage on it is just painful.

It's great as a CO primer though. Also try it with electricity. The dual spread plus aggro reduction and double CO stat works very well.

  12. 12 hours ago, nslay said:

Biggest problem with Gas is that its damage doesn't scale with stacks or elemental mods. The stacks instead increase the AOE of the Gas damage.

I like to use it for spreading Synth Deconstruct effects, but it's not very good after DE reworked it.

Gas is an armor stripper's best friend, IMO. I've been experimenting with my current Frost and Ember builds and they are loving the gas+electric combo that comes with the Grimoir and Proboscis Cernos. Cold+Radiation and Impact also excel for those frames that can't delete armor easily but could take advantage of the open finisher bonus of impact. That last one is a great energy/health manager since the parazon mod sets can really shine with parazon finishers.

However, those radiation mods are doing a great job of changing scope of my builds. I know that multiple statues are not really optimal, I am enjoying the chaos it brings with radiation's reduced aggro and having two secondary elements plus a primary and an ips all on the same weapon.

I'm so done with this game, I swear. I have at least 5 unfinished builds just because there is literally no way to obtain umbra forma in this game, and umbra mods are literally so overpowered that you cannot play this game without umbra mods. Add way to buy umbra forma for plat, it doesn't make sense that I can buy other formas for plat but not umbra forma.

You can't play this game without Umbra mods? That's a lot of dramatic stretching...

its not that I failed the test,  even if u pass the test first try u still need to wait 24 hours to take the next one

The game wants you to pace yourself as well as get you to always come back. Fortunately, rushing through the game doesn't really mean anything in Warframe.

  15. I think it would be cool. However, instead of it being fully open, I would love it if DE used the linear New War layouts with the design elements of the new lab added. With the layouts not changing, but being pretty expensive, we get a very cool story, great level design but still keep it as a quest and, thus, have a good recipe for every other location we would have to go to...if that is DE's goal.

I would also love if we experience Arthur and Aoi's character developments grow from the basic New War Drifter to the version of Arthur we play in Whispers. No Warframe like powers at first, and no inhuman decrees.

You are giving DE too much credit, in the past they have just gone and used theories and speculation from players to fill in the gaps, that's why I don't even try to say or speculate anything about the plot because you can just check theories on here, wait for the next update and see how it is not like they were correct, it was copy and paste.

I don't think I am giving them too much credit at all. There is a difference between fillers (new frames, seasonal/special events, dev inspiration from the community) and the mainline story.

I do, however, think you are not the community nor time, enough credit. Community theories of a few weeks or months can't be designed that quickly, on a mainline scale. On the other hand, those in the community who are big on keeping up with the lore can make, and have made, very good guesses on what's happening next...like Deimos being the obvious next open world (because the main factions get updates in rotation and chapters. My guess is that Parvos or Nef Anyo will be showing their next move against Erra and Narmer. This may be where the old Empyrean trailer battle comes in).

Either way, considering DE would have already show their investors a full Scope of Work portfolio for 2024-25, I would be surprised if player input could be created in the mainline scale.

You know what's funny? just now after going on with some farming I pondered for a moment... veils are not even a new thing, the corrupted had veils for as long as I can remember.

I know this isn't what you meant, but I'm glad someone finally made that observation. It was genius for DE to leave that breadcrumb of what influenced the veils. The Corrupted are void turned from void sentries...perhaps made by Dr. Entrati, influenced by Wally. Now, my question is when did Wally interact with Ballas' or Erra?

There are other comparisons that, IMO, DE hopes we begin to pick up on.

Why do the vessels share the same skin structure as the Duviri people?

How did the void allow certain people into the Drifter's self created world of Duviri? Why Teshin, Kullervo and Dr. Entrati, in particular? Speaking of that...

If Wally is basically a deity of the void, why does he not have total control of it? Wally seems more like a major player but still one of a few players.

Lastly, exactly how many Wallys are we dealing with? The one we fought in the vessel isn't behaving like the one at the very end of the event. Dr. Entrati also doesn't seem very "possessed" in that scene neither. Who's controlling who or are we looking at void brothers and not realizing it?

  18. Here's my list for the year:

    1) Try to keep the momentum of the 2023 content flow. Last year was an EXCELLENT year for Warframe!!

    2) Release the next chapter of Railjack and introduce an SP version with a high emphasis on beefier enemies. Their damage output is fine but I would like the enemy fighters to have more health to them.

    3) Intro the next chapter of Duviri. Let's bring in a new area that has decree restrictions and a few special bosses.

    4) Bring on the eternalism critical points saga!! I'm anxious to know why the New War's trailer took place with the Lotus in complete rule over the Sentients...but she doesn't look hostile.

    5) More unique necramechs, which leads to...

    6) SIGNIFICANTLY more activity on the Plains of Eidolon. Let Narmer 's last defense live there and be at a decent size.

    7) Dial in Blast and Gas damage.

    DE's own promotional site says:
"Unite opposing forces and test your mettle against the full mustered force of the Sentients..." <Unite Corpus & Grineer

Literally the first thing Teshin says in New War, during the first Railjack section:
"The Enemy's Eye turns upon our Allies" -Context being the Murex attacking the Corpus & Grineer Ships.

    Also, Erra says this:
"How tediously human. A Slapdash alliance making a feeble last stand,"

This was a coordinated attack by the Corpus, Grineer, and Tenno. The negotiations for which happened off-screen as I said.

That's not true at all. You literally played the example of what the alliance was: a desperation to stop the MASSIVE assault of one, overbearing faction.

Also, if "off-screen" is on the table for truth, then we can easily say Teshin was discussing all of our actual ally factions, such as The Perrin Sequence, New Loka, Cetus and Fortuna.

Don't forget how The War Within trailer try to set up the quest as we, the tenno lost everything and have to fight back the grineer queen by ourself without our warframes, turns out it is just a process of daydreaming and at the end we got introduce a new resource call kuva which suppose to help someone to be immortal which sounds very powerful yet this is never talked about in the lore anymore and grineer queen has been phased out from the story. Just like how hunhow and stalker was forgotten for like 4 years until the new war.

Ordis talks about Kuva in his lore iirc. DE didn't lock all of the lore in just the quests. Every aspect of the game offers pieces to the lore that the community (used to) work together on. StallorD and The D'Siege have done great jobs with discussing what they, and the community, have found and it is immense.

What I like about Warframe is it's video game "book series" that has chapters that have to be designed and drawn and scripted and resourced and budgeted and acted and musically scored and tested and await new technology and power through a deadly pandemic and.....it takes a lot to put concept into product. For every release, someone can easily point to the next "what about this character or faction?". This keeps the game alive and gives it far more value than the limitations of a single playstyle. There's no rush to end the content but there's also so much a dev team can do at a time...which means more for us. That's great!

Rebecca already hinted at the third Orb and Narmer, so maybe that's after Whispers and 1999. If 1999 is what I think it is, then we'll have PLENTY to look forward to regarding the other factions too.

railjack is the biggest, most epic fumble DE had ever done, how could you make something like railjack be just another island content and let it gather dust after giving up on it, neither other stuff that was much older weren't this abandoned... geez.

well i'm glad the game is still up and strong, something like that would definitely just shut the game down...

and duviri paradox actually looks more promising and unique than it, I hope duviri paradox is what railjack was supposed to be.

I would say play it for yourself and don't go off of what others opinions of the content are. Everyone has their own preferences and you may very well love what others don't.

My opinion of Railjack, for example, is that it is absolutely insane fun and each chapter of its releases fit the progress of the game. Some may disagree but that's how viewpoints go. So, enjoy for yourself and please dismiss our thoughts. We may ruin the experience.
