I am using an Xbox Controller.

Customizing controller buttons under settings do not save and always get set to default.

I try to rebind my LB and RB to do anything else but when I save the settings and try to use them but they always revert to their default action.

I am unsure if this is just a random bug or related to cross-save. I played about two months back with the same controller with no problems. I just came back to play again because of the cross merge and encountered this bug.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I've had controller problems since cross save as well.

  2. So I wanted to test something.

I had Wisp set to tap to cast and hold to swap mote. If I change her to any option default/standard/inverted nothing changes. It's always tap to cast and hold to swap.

This leads me to believe every ability is bugged, at least for me.

  3. No matter what option i choose default/standard/inverted Zaku's 3rd ability The Lost can not be changed to tap to cast and hold to switch.

I'm not sure if any other frames are also have this bug because I have not checked and don't feel like going through the whole list.

  4. Here is a copy/paste of my original post from 2 years ago that got locked and my controller settings are still bugged.

For awhile I used DS4 to set my controls how I wanted but that doesn't seem to work since crossplay/save went live and now I'm screwed again.

The right side is correct but the left side is displaying Railjack options instead of the ability menu options.

Where is says tactical menu/equip onmi it should say cycle power left/right as default.

    ggHzOYs.png

If I click on tactical menu/onmi these are the only options I get.

    fAzLLJj.png

If I go to railjack tab I'll find my ability menu options on the left side.

    881Eewq.png

If I go to set cycle power left/right and set it to tactical menu/omni like it should be I don't get that as an option. Instead I get cycle power left/right.

    87OFUvC.png

Anyways, kinda screwed over here. Everything works as if both ability menu and railjack are set to default but I am unable to change the controller settings that have been swapped.

I've tried going into normal mission and checking settings from there but options were still bugged. After abort they were bugged in orbiter as well. Tried starting a railjack mission and had the exact same results. I've tried resetting ability menu and railjack to default but still bugged. I've relogged several times and still bugged.

What's weird is everything was working fine until I was trying to set cycle ability left/right to hot key some gear wheel items. I had the option to do so and everything was normal, but I needed to check what number gear wheel items I wanted, so I went back without saving. After I checked the numbers I wanted to set I went back to Ability menu and the options had changed after only like 10 seconds.

  5. I sold my amalgam serration on accident years ago.

I was ranking it to R10 but needed a few thousand endo so I went to sell some random mods for endo. When I sold the mods I still had amalgam serration clicked on because I was going to rank it and sold that too.

I contacted support immediately and told them the situation and luckily I got the mod back.

  6. I had no idea Mprime inherited stuff like that. Kinda funny to read this now since I was tweaking Nova builds today.

I've been playing with argonak/dagger builds forever and recently started adding melee influence to that combo. After some testing I was fairly sure there were some inherit shenanigans going on there so I was looking for frames to use that melee Aoe gas/electric armor strip combo with. It didn't take long to think of how well that would pair with chain reaction mprime explosions. While going through builds on my multiple novas I came across a xata whisper speedva build and knew I had a potential winner. A few tweaks and some tests....this is a crazy combo. Now I know mprime also inherits some stuff and it's more insane than I thought it was.

Find this thread and it appears I'm late to the party. There are already videos up detailing builds real close to what I just spent the last few hours discovering.

  7. I played a lot of Diablo 2 for years then David Brevik was working on a game called Marvel Heroes. It was like D2 but with marvel superheroes. I'm a huge diablo and comic nerd so that was like the perfect game for me. That game crashed and died hard and I was left without a game for a couple years.

Then my oldest son was like 12 or 13 and found warframe on steam. He wanted me to play it with him. I said I'd try it but I'm picky about the games I play and probably won't like it. I'm also not into shooter type games.

Anyways, I always start argps with caster/mage so I'm used to a slow start until I lvl up and eventually melt faces. I had to pick Mag as starter frame. Magnetic mage named Mag. I get to be lady Magneto. This is happening.

Then I find out the game is a bit grindy, has like 40 playable characters, 500 weapons and cat and dog companions. That's my type of game.

The more I played the more it felt like DE really nailed some of the old rpg character class archetypes so I felt comfortable in the environment they created for those characters. It felt old and familiar but new and exciting at the same time. Kind of hard to describe but no other game has had the same feeling for me.

This is completely false, if you went through the same procedure (grouping with Ensnare, damage buffing with Roar instead of Shooting Gallery's stealth multiplier, proccing the enemy up with a secondary) a Bramma would deal several times more damage despite not having access to Condition Overload.

Regardless, the thread title is "Now that melee is worth using again..." - that should be enough clue to how absurdly irrelevant old videos about someone tryharding with their favourite Riven is. Stances are complete crap and need urgent reworking, at the very least the "forward combo" needs to also be usable with the "sideways" input. It's ridiculous that you can hold sideways while attacking and get the neutral combo (which likely catapults you forward while completely preventing sideways movement).

The title is the only reason I commented on this thread and my point remains that melee was always worth using. It's not all of a sudden relevant again. I've been lvl capping with melee for the last 5 years.

I like melee, I don't trust DE to "fix" every stance. I'll gladly take more new stances.

Darn, you're good! I can only manage 1.92 kps in SP Circulus with Cerata. I had to experiment with Melee Vortex, Helstrum and Nautilus to pull that off... It's considerably lower without that grouping help.

There is some luck where you spawn too. If you spawn near a nice narrow hallway with enemies dumping in, it's easier to get high kps than if you spawn near a short hallway to a large area. But if extraction is 1km away, this drives down kps! Although your build has more considerably more range than Cerata!

I'd like to reach at least 2 kps. Nice job man!

EDIT: Oh well, if you're going to Menu to the stats screen instead of extracting for the final stats... It's still pretty good!

If I've mained anything in this game it's melee and I could never get used to glaives. They're OP but they don't fit my playstyle.

Grouping is key for high kps melee, good thing we have plenty of options. With Nautilus, Helstrum and Cordon you can skip a grouping helminth ability and drop melee vortex for melee influence so you don't have to bring magnetic. honestly, I think something is #*!%y with influence. it's a little too good

I've also played a bunch of Wisp and that amalgam argonak mod with gas or gas/electric daggers Is kind of my go to set up on her. I don't need armor strip or grouping helminth so I can go qol like nourish to drop energize and free up an arcane slot while not having to mod viral.

This is the best room on Circulus

I see so many people in this thread saying "status builds are godly" or whatever. I invite any of you to show such a build actually beating out a crit build on Steel Path Circulus. Bear in mind, using primers is low end play (it's very slow, only useful if you're new to Steel Path and don't have the fun toys yet) and thus not applicable to this challenge.

    I got one for you.

775 kills in the first 5m15s of SP Circulus. That's about 2.5 kps or 150kpm.

Full status build, one take, kinda trash tiles, not using a primer or trying at all.

I showed you mine, show me yours. Full crit melee build with 2.5kps?

Thanks! We were able to reproduce the issue in those videos, so we'll look into getting it fixed.

Really?!?! Getting this fixed would be awesome. It's been bugged since release and I've been bumping that thread with videos for 2 years.

While we have your attention if you want to look into Xaku's Lost and Ember's Inferno abilities not procing Brief Respite/augur mods shield regen on energy spent that would also be awesome. That should be fairly easy to replicate.

I made a bug report on that like a year ago but never bumped it.

    thx!!!

  12. When I start playing games I know pretty quick if I'm going to quit or go hard, WF was a go hard and max everything as quick as I could type of situation.

I maxed all focus schools about as fast as possible . Once I realized I wanted arcanes I figured out I needed to do eidolons and to do eidolons I needed focus schools. By MR 9-10 I was spamming eso during day cycle for daily focus/ranking frames and weapons to raise my MR and hunting at night for arcanes/shards. I had already maxed focus and almost maxed all arcanes by the time scarlet spear released and that was like 8-9 months after I started.

I also have a low MR alt account I have not touched in years with maxed focus. I used to only hunt on that low MR account. It was fun carrying pubs on <MR10 account or joining random recruit chat hunts last minute when people would take anyone. Then SP came out and I "had" to get to MR10, after that I figured I'd get MR12 for Rubico Prime but realized I liked Vectis prime better and got MR14. I was no longer low MR hunter and abandoned that account.

Lenses have not been a reward for quite some time.

  13. I still miss void blast.

Not once have I ever used melee from operator on purpose, I've only ever done it when I wanted to void blast and forgot it wasn't a thing anymore.

Really dropped the ball on that focus rework(remember that fire/lightning ball, magnetize field, disarm, slow etc. from void blast?). That was awesome.

Could have made operator skill trees with meaningful choices and have truly unique operators instead of bland max everything, choose a school and call it a day.

    Oh well....

Has this syandana ever returned beyond it's first appearance in Nightwave? I hope at some point DE will go through everything that's been locked away like this and re-releases it. There's a lot of stuff that's been MIA for years. Less perma exclusivity the better.

I was last available in intermission 2 at rank 28 which ran from Oct 2019 - May 2020.

Let's start with the fact that level cap content is irrelevant to the vast majority of players. You know dang well you gotta be in a mission for quite awhile just to even get those enemies to spawn, and you also know there's no real compelling reason to bother with that. So most people dont.

Level 100-200 steel path enemies are a much more relevant metric to more people because thats something that players are far more likely to realistically encounter.

Yes, min maxed melee builds could absolutely get somebody across the finish line. But especially during the AOE meta so could other things for alot less effort. "Effort" both in terms of "skill" and gear check.

I really dont think you can objectively say the nerfs to melee were "irrelevant" when the overal differences in DPS were/are significant.

I remember this well. Literally why bother shooting enemies with a primer and then meleeing them when you could just spam kuva bramma or something and just blow everything up at once.

Once we got galvanized mods and primary/secondary arcanes it was like why bother with a bramma when my utility primer is killing enemies in basic SP mission. Might as well run the same melee/cc focused loadouts I have always ran and see how far I can go. Since I mainly play solo I didn't really have to deal with the Wu AoE meta, I just played by myself keeping up what I had always been doing. I don't remember a time when I struggled with melee and it was never obsolete as OP implied.

Since you've always had a Mesa glyph here's Meme Melee Mesa clip for you. Figured I'd leave my guns at home and use a lasso(ensnare) instead. I am a cowgirl after all and not just a couple of guns.

No damage buffs, no armor strip and no peace makers.

    Spoiler

Uploaded Feb 8 2022 right in the middle of Wukong bramma/zarr meta.

Enemies only 3-4k here but Meme Melee Mesa still slayin it well past the point that bramma spam could maintain. Melee nerfs didn't really slow me down, almost not even noticeable.

Swirling Tiger is a good stance. I don't want DE reworking the good stuff.

    What a clown.

Here's a 1.4m bleed proc by the way, no arcanes (neither on the weapon, nor on the frame), no abilities, no priming, no riven:fz4URxx.png

And here's the Lex Prime, also no riven:zPMGYeA.pngIn case you don't know, those have around 3m HP at level cap (Steel Path, obviously).

Huge difference between lvl <200 in the sim and lvl cap. That's like a 3M+ EHP vs. 3B+ EHP. Those screenshots are irrelevant.

Anyways, more on point to topic. I'm not really in favor of reworking all stances because I happen to like a few.

Swirling Tiger and Sovereign Outcast are two of my favorites, while every single polearm stance is complete garbage IMO. If polearm stances were reworked It might benefit me, but I realize some people enjoy those stances and that's why they use those weapons. I feel that I have enough available choices of melee weapons with stances that I do enjoy that having others that I don't like is an acceptable compromise. I don't want stances that I've enjoyed for 4+ years to suddenly change, just like I don't want to change other stances I dislike because it will most likely ruin someone else good time. I also have a significant plat investment into very specific melee rivens for melee weapons because the stances are enjoyable to play.

I'd rather have more stance options across the board so that there is a greater possibility more people could find stances they like for each weapon class. Especially for weapons like rapiers, Bade whips and 2h nikana that only have a single stance.

What really irked me was the thread title "now that melee is worth using again" asking for reworked stances because melee has been in a very good place for years even after the nerfs. Anyone that knew how to mod melee weapons and min/max a loadout around melee knew that the nerfs were irrelevant. The recent additions of tenno kai and melee arcanes are unnecessary and classic DE OP overkill powercreep.

I like how you're unironically using armor strip, and priming, and Sonar spam (and I'm sure you have a Riven on those Ether Daggers), and you're standing here on your soap box tellimg me "melee was totally fine". You could *literally* do level cap with a Stug and your setup. You could do level cap with a goddamn mining tool and that setup. You could kill enemies with bullet jump and that setup (though there's no rivens for your feet, unfortunately!).

    Ridiculous.

You *do* know that a gun can kill those enemies with a single shot, no priming, no abilities, right?

Oh no, I'm using a min/max loadout to complement my melee weapon. What am I supposed to do, go into a mission with unmodded frame and just a melee?

If you can show me a video of you one shotting enemies of that lvl with a single shot no abilities no priming I'd love to see it. Extra bonus points if you do it without arcanes and galvanized mods since we are setting arbitrary restrictions on what makes weapons viable.

    -snip_

And you could still solo lvl cap using melee as primary source of damage with all of those changes.

    Spoiler

Sorry this is the only clip I could find it's only as I hit 9k+ not the end of the run.

Uploaded on 3/24/22. That's 8 months after the sisters of parvos update 30.5 that brought the first wave of melee nerfs.

We were well into the complete obsolesce of melee phase by this point.

Here I found another good one. This is before the melee changes (uploaded 11/28/2020) when I was running extinguished dragon key for -75% damage debuff for funsies. I prenerfed melee on myself before DE got the chance.🤣

    Spoiler

You have no idea how long I was trying to get that tower of enemies in that doorway.

Oh, that's odd. I was going to link my thread about how guns are superior to melee in every way from not that long ago, but it seems DE stealth deleted it! Well I guess it served its purpose, since DE addressed several of the issues I raised...

what big melee nerfs? Reduced stats of CO/BR/WW?

You just awoke from a coma, didn't you? Welcome back! Just for your information, there was a period of time while melee was entriely obsolete, but that's thankfully behind us now.

And no, turning on all the auto targeting and lock on features, and just holding down the melee button while I am literally stapled both to the ground, and to my target, is not an option.

If you actually try to play the game you'll notice stuff like your warframe doing both an attacking, and a moving forwards animation, while you actually move to the side. Looks like dogwater, and the sad part is, a couple years back DE themselves actually did way better.

When was melee entirely obsolete? Melee has been good since I started playing about 4.5 years ago. I was soloing lvl cap within a year with melee builds so it's been good enough for at least 3.5 years. Maybe it sucked before that, I have no idea.

Actually it was right about 3.5 years ago with update 30.5 that DE introduced galvanized mods and ranged weapon arcanes to keep up with the melee meta.

    Spoiler

    Quote directly from^^^^

Generally speaking, we feel that gun stats are in a good place, but it's the Mods that are lacking. Inversely, some Melee Mods are too strong. We intend to address these issues in two ways: firstly, careful nerfs to a handful of Melee Mods; secondly, by offering greater strength for the rest of your Arsenal with Primary and Secondary Arcanes and new Galvanized Mods.

Our goal is to encourage you to use your entire Arsenal in-mission. Switching between Primary, Secondary, and Melee weapons should feel like valid and strategic options, in contrast to the uncontested Melee dominance that exists in the current meta. We want Melee to be fun and powerful as you rip and tear your way through the solar system but we want players to have that same level of fun and power with Primary and Secondary weapons should that be their preference.

If I actually played the game? You're funny. I've played this damn game too much. I've got just under 6k hours and 9M+ kills. Not steam hours either, that's in mission time. At least 1/3 of those kills are with melee weapons. Apparently I like the taste of dog water.

Some stances just suck. I don't like polearms, rapiers, glaives, gun blades, 2h nikana, hammer, heavy blades, whips or fists stances. It's not from lack of trying either, I have hundreds of thousands of kills with these weapons. There are even stances I don't like for my favorite weapon types like dual swords, tonfas, daggers and claws. There are enough melee options that I'm sure you can find something remotely enjoyable.

If you find yourself stuck only moving forward you can use that to your advantage if you familiarize yourself the combos and learn to position yourself accordingly with well timed and placed slide attacks. You can slide attack in any direction you want then combo towards any enemy or group of enemies you please. Attack speed and range are your friends. With enough of those two you don't even notice S#&$ty animations.
