It looks like some people have misinterpreted your question, tileset refers to the environment pool the individual tiles are used to generate the map whereas tile refers to a specific tile within that batch that always remains the same. One you get a feel for the connections it is easy to distinguish one tile from another. For example, Grineer Galleon is a Tileset whereas something like the Orokin Speed Drift room or an extraction room is composed entirely within a tile.

I was kind of getting at a specific tile that people remembered for whatever reason but tileset is fine as well. It would be cool to see pics of a room with a story behind why they remember that specific tile. I know that tilesets have been redesigned and and it's not going to be easy to post pics.

In the pic i posted in OP, I remember standing up there looking down at players farther along in the game than I was and wanting to get to where they were and beyond. I was watching the chaos thinking that if I just got better and farmed better gear I could go as long as I wanted to. Standing up there on that specific tile set me on a path for how I play this game and what I build for.

I just hopped into a survival fissure when I logged in today and got all nostalgic. Wanted to share that and get others to remember some good times playing WF.

  2. Please DE fix this. Almost 2h into a mission and I'm going to extract because constant sound focused on my frame,

The little red lines sqirling around me are fine but the noise is too much.

    Does anyone read bug reports?

Am I just screaming into the void?

    Where is that large automobile?

This is not my beautiful house

This is not my beautiful wife

    How did I get here?

    Same as it ever was

In terms of my favorite aesthetically + gameplay wise? Probably the Murex. It looks great and plays well with large doors and little geometry to catch yourself on. Tiles like the Entrati Labs remind me of the Kuva Fortress to be quite honest.

In terms of nostalgia? Probably a tie between Grineer Shipyard Interception (old Draco tile) and the Infested Salvage tileset that is from The Jordas Verdict. Lots of memories and progression made as a newer player in those tiles.

As for aesthetics and gameplay I have to pick the Void. I'm a long term void dweller, Mot is my home away from home while I'm at home. It's not cluttered so there is nothing to get stuck on, enemy flow is great, easy passive relic farm and it's well lit. It's just a pleasure to play on

I also have a soft spot for kuva fortress, Farmed a lot of kuva and rolled a lot of rivens. It was different than other missions in that team comp for kuva survival had roles. I wanted someone to protect converted life support towers, someone who's only job was to deal with kuva guardians, a limbo to banish anyone that needed to stand up and afk for a minute and someone else who was in it for the long haul.

The tile in the pic also reminds me of orphix venom. That was fun putting together groups and actually using voice chat to coordinate. Spamming abort for tiles sucked but as a whole I enjoyed that event.

  4. This tile in the Grineer Galleon was the the room of my first 1h+ survival and every time I'm here I think about that mission.

I had just recently started playing WF would run dark sector survivals for credit farm. I was probably somewhere around MR5-9 and I couldn't run 20 min missions without getting carried for that last rotation. I joined a random pub squad, did my basic 10-20 min run and started heading to extract when the other plays told me to come back and they would carry me. I wanted more credits so I headed back.

They marked this spot up here where I could safely watch the carnage. This was back when Catchmoon and spin 2 win were kings. Seeing cathmoon fireballs flying all over the place and I knew I wanted that. After the mission I got the rundown on kitguns, got build links and had something to work towards. Got my new shiny catchmoon and DE immediately nerfed it. Didn't matter though, I was already hooked on pushing myself in long runs by that point. I just learned that nothing is permanent in WF. Mean old space mom will break your toys every time you start having too much fun.

Anyways, this tile is a special place for me since it set me down the path of running stupid long endless missions.

Steel Essence and melee rivens with attack speed, crit damage and range lol.

    This is the way.

I also need rivens for utility primers with some combination of multi shot, status chance, fire fate, element, status duration, punch through depending on my needs for each weapon. These can be more difficult to find exactly what I want because it's a specific roll and people tend to roll for cc/cd/ms/- type of stuff for ranged weapons.

That's a completely broken combo though, and even though I don't want it to be, and don't think it should be nerfed, I already feel the nerf bat swinging on it.  Yes, I know it's been around for a while.  But melee influence is making it popular, and DE will notice eventually and nerf it into the dirt.

DE if you read this:  leave it alone please.  It requires a fair bit of investment and it takes up the primary weapon slot with the Argonak to work.  And it's not doing anything a dozen other things can't already do.

That was straight camping a spot with incredibly good enemy flow just to see what could be done. It's boring to camp like that but I was curious.

If I was just playing normal survival like I do and moving around a good tile it would probably top out around 9k/hour. That's still incredibly good but can be accomplished on multiple builds and many frames. You could probably pull off similar kps averages with almost any frame using nourish, nautilus, green shards and ocucor(or anything that can apply mass status). It all requires a decent investment but we have options.

You don’t say. How unexpected. Like, they boot up a game, and then…. Hrm, very strange

I mean, I dunno about you, but the journey of finding the AFK strats is a lot more fun than actually using them, and I can join OP to facilitate that search because they’re doing so much overkill and then I do something else when the novelty wears thin

If I wanted to go all in on big pp dps I'd run exodia contagion zaw on Eclipse Wisp in ani/mot for the best lighting.

  9. 18 minutes ago, Merkranire said:

I’m not sure how you intend to AFK while being the one doing the most damage…?

If anything, I’d be the one to stand around since you’ve got everything covered so thoroughly, and there can’t be two of us standing around or the mission won’t be done…

    Questions are raised

It's not actually 100% afk more like you can afk if you need to because it's camping one safe spot spot and the necessary kps is covered to maintain life support.

Like take Khora, nekros, speed nova and a wisp or whatever meta camping survival team comp is. Khora provides most kills and loot, nekros provides loot, Nova makes enemies rush the camp spot increasing kps and wisp gives hp/regen so people can afk when needed. Nova has to cast mprime every so often so they can't really afk as much. Wisp and Nekros can basically afk and collect loot as needed. If khora needs to afk for a bit for whatever reason the other players can pick up the slack, I find this playstyle incredibly boring but if your goal is to farm it is efficient.

Back in the day when I farmed a lot of kuva in long kuva survivals we would "make" someone play limbo because they could banish anyone that needed to afk and make a little dome over converted life support towers.

The wording sounds bad but if you run stupid long mission with 4 humans someone will have to preform essential bodily functions eventually.

Understand that it’s a range of levels and content you’re building for, not single missions, though if you are so inclined, the option is there to tweak according to what you’re doing. You can work in broad strokes even though you’re not taking the one build to rule them all that destroys everything, but cause and effect dictate that if you go too low beyond the level range you’re built for, a range which can span maybe 20 levels (not sure myself what the minimum is, but it’s not a small number), you start overkilling and could stand to reconsider the build if you’re jumping into multiplayer (do whatever you want in solo), but you do you.

DE not enforcing a stat squash per level makes absolute sense for many reasons, one if them being if you’re going to get squashed, replace the damn thing that’s being squashed; if you’re being squashed so that Serration is not doing anything, replace Serration with something else that still provides benefit to gameplay even if it doesn’t increase damage. That’s why I find some player’s views on Damage Attenuation, a system very much designed to squash us, so odd, because those players don’t go “Huh, doing too much damage, what damage can I replace with something else I’d like to use?”, instead they act like the system was introduced for us to find some esoteric combination that bypasses it?

What the hell? You wanna talk unreasonable, using dragon keys to shieldgate abuse and then calling it a balancing tactic is unreasonable. Using Steel Path, the game mode that DE themselves have said they don’t balance around and anyone with two braincells can see is warped, as the warped measuring stick for what works and what doesn’t is unreasonable. *@##$ing and moaning about how AoE got nerfed because it was doing the thing I’m avoiding is unreasonable. Good job with that, by the way

Right now it’s a choice to play nice with others, or DE could step in and babysit us. I think, instead of DE having to do it for me by taking away my toys I like using however I want in Solo, it’s reasonable to choose to not hog all the game in multiplayer and consider other players, plus I get to make and use alternative builds drawing from the pool of everything I’ve earned so far that I make to be fun according to what I want to play like while also considering the content I’m bringing it to and the potential players I’m playing with. Plus I join in order to play with other players, it’s not some necessary evil, but when I get sidelined and have to compete for things to do, it gets a little annoying!

edit: Also, Forma being a specialisation system is not news, I’ve removed one or two because in general I wanted more flexibility for myself, nevermind playing with others

    you're ridiculous

I'd like to see a friendly co-op build built for this.

    WxHSuhx.png

These are enemies we fight in the first few days of starting the game and they are balanced around that. By your logic everyone should just avoid lith fissures because no matter what you take you are going to be overpowered for the mission unless you're using unmodded starter frames/weapons.

Yes, I too wish for more gas mods.

    /sarcasm

Stacking gas clouds on armor stripped enemies ain't bad.

I had 11.5k kills in a 1h solo SP Circulus run with Nova running an argonak + gas/electric dagger set up. The RDD riven I used in that run was tox/heat/range. Most people would call that riven garbage, because most people wouldn't know what to do with it.

I now use a speed/range/electric/- riven but having a gas melee mod would allow me to drop both 60/60 mods used to make gas and run something like spring loaded blade for just under 9m range on my RDD.

That's just one use for a single gas mod. I'm sure we could dream up all sorts of uses for the other combined elemental damage types if they came on a single mod.

  12. It's kind of rough to try and match damage types across all enemies types in a mission. Like if you run a grineer mission are you building for corrosive because most grineer have ferrite armor and take +75% from that or are you taking radiation for the alloy armor bombards? Or do you take 2 different weapons to deal with each type?

The easier solution is is to take what works against almost everything, viral/slash. Or you could armor strip everything and use whatever. Gas/electric is a potent combo when enemies have no defenses.

I pretty much only play SP and come from mmo/arpg games. I take that type caster and hack and slash type of playstyle to WF. Make every frame a caster with some sort of decent cc, mass apply status with utility primer and melee. If it ain't broke.

    B. Be a form of Enraged/Trance/'Kai' mode that players select in a fashion similar to Focus Schools.

    Bottomline:

Tennokai let's call it "Trance Mode" should be something that unlocks via a quest earlier in the game.

It should function similar to how Warframe's work in The Duviri World Map (Not Undercroft). Where your actions in combat charge up a gauge that the player can trigger at will. (This case would be Melee actions obviously.)

When triggered, it should allow for lightning fast combos, guaranteed crits that ignore armor, and extremely powerful heavy attacks, blocking should reflect everything.

iE: Make it like a powerful 30 or 60 second buff that takes time to charge via melee.

I thought this was what tennokia was going to be. Just another kill bad guys with melee to activate super melee mode. It's been done so many times before that it's the obvious choice. I'm glad DE went a different way.

IMO tennokai feels good because it plays like a max combo/heavy attack build with high efficiency. I already had similar builds on specific weapons like reaper, livia, keratinos, machetes etc that required a heavy attack efficiency riven and sometimes another efficiency mod. It's kind of cool to have the same type of build across all melee weapons now. I like having an on demand heavy attack kill shot for acolyte, demo or whatever w/o dumping combo and slotting several mods.

The only downside for me is that I now have a handful of melee rivens with some combo of efficiency + cc/cd/as/range/- that are now irrelevant. Thousands of plat just tossed into the void...again.

That's part of my point, it's not worth it when it's random, requires a mod to stop being random, should never be random by default, and requires grinding late-game mods and equipment to even free up a mod slot.

As for 20p, that's still paying to skip, and I don't like it when a system is designed around making you give up and hand over money (and yes, that means I don't like a lot of this game when it comes to pay-to-skip)

You don't have to like it for it to be good. My melee builds are better than ever since the addition of tennokia mods and melee arcanes. I haven't had this much fun testing builds since helminth was released.

I also have no problem with paying to skip because I've made enough plat trading this week to unlock the exilus slot on every melee weapon in the game if I wanted to.

  15. 3 hours ago, Pakaku said:

They're all bad because Tennokai itself is bad. It's not a system that is going to catch on when it's a late-game unlock, and if it requires these mods to be active, and it's not going to be worth slotting any in without wasting more time grinding for adapters.

Compare the system to the Parazon finisher system... it's an innate ability everyone has by default, not to mention is possible to influence with Impact damage, which is another mechanic everyone can access by default.

Discipline's Merit is the least worst choice, but it's still bad since Tennokai's randomness holds it back in the first place. So you either "pay" and grind for the chance to get something that can fix Tennokai, or run another mod and lose out on fixing the system.

How much do you use melee? I play a lot of frames and almost every build is focused on maximizing my melee kps. If I had to guess I have probably 3m melee kills and I'm pretty psyched for free heavy attacks every 4 hits.

Wasting time grinding adapters? Why would anyone grind for adapters when it cost 75k standing, uses a forma and you have to wait for a day for it to craft it. That's over 2 days to earn standing, a day to craft forma and a day to craft the adapter. Screw that, I'm throwing 20p at that adapter and jumping into a mission to cut some fools up.

IDK, maybe I'm just the type of player that these new melee additions were made for. Free heavy attacks and melee arcanes are a welcome addition to every loadout.

Discipline most of the time and reach for silly range stuff like keratinos.

Ah, Trickery. That explains it. I just stacked 250% Range 244% Power on her.

I used to do all types of fun combos like that but it just doesn't feel rewarding enough with the status and enemy defense changes.

I found reason to use every single damage/status types outside Magnetic. Gas was fine once they fixed the stealth triple dip and while Cold / Electric are mostly the same they aren't easy to pair without Gas. Viral used to be a good pair for Electric but it's kinda mid now. Not sure why most pure elemental weapons had to die either.

Getting dual elements on melee is pretty much a Riven only thing now.

It's a shame Voruna's 2nd is set at 10 stacks instead of max stacks or I'd throw a Tau Emerald +3 on her.
I might double check that come to think of it. I wonder if DE realizes they kinda made most Armor Strip abilities pointless now.

I tried green shards on her as well. I thought I was on to something.

There have been a few recent additions that have been game changing imo.

With green shards we have access to a fairly easily obtainable armor strip on every frame without a helminth. Old corrosive is back...kinda.

The companion rework also changed things. Free passive 30m grouping is extremely hard to pass up.

I pretty much main melee and therefore have a lot of high status primers, slap nourish on anything and you got viral/corrosive/heat with full armor strip. My primers are high dps now.

Slap on those new radiation mods on a primer and RDD procs shields on every hit. Shield gating just got easier without the need to fully reset in a single cast.

Easy armor strip, free grouping and easy shield gating. Everything is coming up milhouse!!

  17. 3 hours ago, Xzorn said:

I was able to scale her 4th to level 900s. You end up using her 2nd about 3x as much to insure you keep 10x combo going but still fine.

I never use weapons on her. Very specific play style but fun for what it is.
She's also the only reason I ranked up Archon mods since she can use all of them.

I've been running Nautilus, cordon, manifold bond and pull on her 4 for grouping and amalgam argonak with gas + electric influence dagger. Whole packs of enemies just poof then I pull stragglers into the stacked armor stripping gas clouds and repeat.

What's kind of cool is pull opens up enemies to ground finishers so you can use arcane trickery and semi reliably maintain invis.

Xata whisper on her 4 is also good build.

I'm going to (partially) disagree. As a career healer main, I find great joy in finding the most efficient way to heal something, especially in higher-end content; it pokes the same happy numbers part of my brain that build theorycrafting does in Warframe, honestly.

Of course, I also find it deeply satisfying when I see something on the edge of complete collapse and can skillfully pull it back from the brink. It's the same little spike of "okay, let's do this" that I get when everyone else in an Arbitration is down and I'm like "alright, let's get this back on the rails."

    I like this right here.

I've always preferred to play a support role, be it healer or crowd control. Anything to make it easier for dps to do there job. I'd also always have dps as a back up if team comp required it. Just don't make me tank.

Warframe is unique in that it lets me come up with builds that combine support and dps roles. It really is what keeps me playing this game, I still get that hack and slash mmo/arpg feeling of building characters. I just get to build multi class hybrids all the time now. The ability to fill multiple roles on a single frame does limit what is required and/or encouraged for group play but I'm ok with that. If I get downed I don't get to blame support because it's my own fault. I still refuse to tank tank. cc/glass cannon dps/shield gate everything.
