No, it's pretty much a requirement - otherwise you're just the dude standing in the corner not getting damaged.  Please don't say CC lets you tank as a response - that's mitigation/debuffing, not hate management and tanking.  The hate mechanics in this game need a huge overhaul, as tanking really isn't a thing anyone except Saryn (and Loki?  Seems like his Decoy has elevated threat, but I'm not sure tbh) can do.  And by the time you get to a level where tanking would be nice to have, Molt gets rekt at a mere glance.

Edit:  OK, Chroma Effigy too.  Forgot about that one.  Not like he's my favorite frame or anything.

    Also Nyx's absorb, sorta.

You can go a couple ways with this. I would use Shred to help with its slow wind-up up time, but you could replace it with a ammo mutation if you don't use ammo restores.

Or you could remove Shred to have room to replace the 60% elemental mods with 90% ones, but you would lose out on DPS without the fire-rate and punch-through.

Either way, you could clear the star chart and even more with these builds. (Maybe not as much vs shielding, which is when you go with magnetic)

This is what I'd do. You can of course swap the elements for whatever suits the situation. Personally, I like to use Viral, as the rate of fire makes procs quite likely. Especially with those dual stat mods in.

  3. Can we just remove this overall? The only thing it does is make almost everyone use Sweeper unless they're using a shotgun, and makes the burst laser pretty much unusable, even if its stats weren't bad, thanks to always conflicting with your own secondary. The Deconstructor suffers in the same way, except that melee mods are easier to level multiple of.

Just let me use the same mod on both at once.

  4. Also, given bits and pieces gleamed from other quests and lore, I believe that the somatic link stuff does not entirely protect the Tenno themselves from death. Sources of this include statements of Tenno numbers dwindling, and perhaps more notably, things like the story of Mirage and Limbo, especially Mirage, whose death effected the Lotus more than it should have if it were just an empty frame.

My personal theory regarding this is that if a Tenno should ever be completely out of Warframes, all of them having been destroyed, that Tenno will eventually perish, perhaps as a result of their own powers going haywire inside their pod.

  5. My bigger problem is the fact that it's exclusive to a bundle that includes a weapon. Bundling the cosmetics together is less of an issue, though it could be nice if it were possible to get only the warframe cosmetics without the ship or cosmetics, but the main issue is that in order to acquire them, we're required to buy a weapon in the bundle, which is something that can be gotten without paying, and are known to be notoriously expensive when bought with platinum.

  6. I definitely agree with this. I was especially annoyed since the Cyskis skin for the Dual Zorens came out right after the Twin Basolk came out. The Twin Basolk requires the Zoren to craft, so that weapon was gone by the time the skin came along.

And just imagine how many annoyed people you'd have if the Palatine Skin was for Fragor instead of Jat Kittag when Jat Kittag is blatantly better.

  7. I think that only those who wear/use warframes and follow the lotus are Tenno. Therefore, any operator who rejects following the lotus is by definition no longer a Tenno, in the same way that grineer deserters are no longer Grineer but merely clone soldiers.

I highly doubt this, because we were known as Tenno even when we were elite soldiers for the Orokin Empire, before we came under the Lotus's command.

A Mirage did the same thing too, when fighting the Sentient. But beyond that, this is just complete guesswork.

Unrelated note, but I just realized that said quest implies that not only did the Lotus not destroy the Tenno, she actually went on to lead them against the sentients in the old war. That, or it's a gaping plot-hole.

  8. Unarmed combat should really just be something that exists as a relatively underpowered means of fighting in case a Drahk Master takes all your weapons (which under current systems I think would require not having a melee weapon, which itself could perhaps use a buttstroke/pistolwhip for similar purposes) so you aren't completely helpless, but I wouldn't say it should be any kind of complex system. Maybe just a simple relatively low impact damage with a decent chance of impact proc. We have melee weapons after all, including ones that are pretty much just augmentations to unarmed melee combat (Kogake and Obex, Tekko to a lesser extent, and Ankyros and Furax to an even lesser extent).

  9. No. China Warframe is it's own beast, with various content being implemented differently than it is here, similar to how SEA and NA/Global versions of those Korean MMOs tend to have such differences. This is why people really shouldn't get worked up when China uses some exclusive gear (like Excal/Lato/Skana Primes, or any of the Wraith/Vandal weapons) in a more accessible manner than it is in the global build. Unlike console vs. PC, which are held separately due to technical issues and red tape (especially red tape, Cert kinda prevents hotfixing the way they do on PC) keeping the builds from syncing up, Chinese Warframe is held separately because of how things work in China compared to most of the rest of the world. Oh, and just as a little tidbit, from my understanding, paying for power is a lot more acceptable in China, so Warframe China may in fact be rather pay-to-win, especially compared to the global build.

TLDR: Warframe China and Warframe are basically completely different games that share the same content, unlike PC vs. Console, which are the same game on different platforms, so no.

  10. A lot.

Raids were added, and are called Trials.

    Parkour was reworked.

    Conclave was reworked.

We got Tenno hub areas called Relays, you can find them on Pluto, Mercury, and Saturn. We had more, but Vay Hek blew them up.

Plenty of other additions, but those are the exceptionally large ones. There's also another update, adding a ton of story content coming in a little over a week.

You can look over all the patch notes here from here: http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Update_17

  11. The problem is mainly the lack of consideration for the time it takes to run the Void missions themselves. Your complaint is leveled towards Rotations A and B, which seem to be intentionally filled with trash drops, because the real reward is in Rotation C. Per key, the endless types are already the best reward, thanks to the rotations. But what seems to be ignored is the fact that to go with that, these missions take about 4 times as long as the others, and I'm being generous with that estimate by not factoring extreme rushing of Exterminate and Capture. Also ignored is the fact that the endless missions are overall harder than the single-run missions, especially if run longer than one rotation C.

Now, I'm not saying that these missions should be fully 4x as rewarding as the single-run missions if run to the first rotation C, but they certainly need to be more rewarding then they are now. Reward per key, Reward per Time, and Reward per Difficulty all need to be considered, and currently these tables only seem to be considering reward per key. This issue plagues both of these game types in their entirety though, and isn't really an issue specific to the void. In fact, the for the most part, the void has less of an issue with this.

  12. Thanks guys. Do all frames have the same amout of energy when they Are full?

No. It varies between frames, the level of the frame, and mods.

Unmodded, most non-caster frames have 100 base and 150 at level 30, while caster frames have 150 base and 225 at level 30. Some prime variants of frames have more energy than their normal versions, but the amount at level 30 will always be 150% of the base.

  13. I'm thinking it's a mashup of a few different circuit textures. Check out the big chunky bit near the center of the face and compare it to this:

    <Circuit Pattern>

The pixel camo, I'm 90% sure is from this one:

    <Camo pattern>

Better than the V1 Neon Skin since they're labeled as free

First off, could we please try to link the actual sources when we do these source investigations instead of just embedding the image in the post?

The camo image is clear though, if it's in fact being used. Investigation lead to the Source, and their legal page says that use in commercial works is acceptable. (Though funny enough, it also implies that your embedding is not, since it's a direct link to the file instead of to the distribution page).

The circuit pattern a more complicated case though. The site you found it on says that commercial use is strictly prohibited without permission from the creator, but I have serious doubts that site is the original source of the pattern. Given that many places it was found were as part of commercial site designs, I'm inclined to believe that it's a free pattern.

  14. One of the biggest places I saw veterans in matchmaking as a problem while I was new was bosses. The veteran players would rush the bulk of the mission (usually with serious coptering), getting to the boss first, skipping its cutscene, and oneshotting it before I ever even entered the room. Granted, this was largely with the poorly-designed early bosses (at the time, only Vor, Ruk, and Krill had any real way of making their fights last more than mere seconds), but it still remains a potential problem, especially since even some of the later bosses (not reskinned enemies with special powers), like Alad V, can still be killed VERY quickly by veterans, and there's still the issue of cutscene skipping and rushing to the boss.

Occasionally there were issues of veterans rushing in other mission types, but that's not specifically a newbie vs. veteran problem, even if veterans are more likely to do it.

This is why I'll be doing sorties solo or with friends.

Anyways, didn't they say on devstream (or showed on navigation) that sorties will have some sort of requirement lock? Like you need to have level 30 warframe or something like that.

Yep, level 30 frame required, and I'd probably expect a MR lock on them too.

  15. I wouldn't call it an annoyance. Since most of the players are here for the cooperation mode of this game, I'm sure they can manage to get back up without any problems with a common squad.

While it's never pushed me to spend money, it has annoyed me when frames I main end up out of revives at times. This has usually involved T4 endless mission farming, Syndicate missions (often end up solo for these, and sometimes things go wrong, often thanks to scouring the map instead of playing normally), and occasionally Trials (once had to hold off a raid run with friends because I lacked revives on Nova). Oh, and lets not forget that you can end up losing all your frame revives in archwing.

Also, while using an alt to try out the new player experience (and get Darvo scans on this account, since that's only available in the 3rd mission of Vor's Prize), I found that the extra revives they give players on signup were actually rather necessary, it's very easy to end up in unfair situations when you're new. This is why the system is being changed in the first place, it practically preys on newbies and, to a lesser extent, more casual players.

It pretty much forces you to wait, change frame, or pay up. And the first two can be considered annoyances. The change is certainly a welcome one, and helps the game stand out against other models even more.
