  1. Prime details are not an option on deluxe Warframe skins as far as I am aware. Likely because they are different meshes that usually completely change the look of the Warframe. Meanwhile Tennogen skins like the Graxx series just add new helmets and change the textures of the Warframe, so it is easier to apply the Prime details since it’s still the same base model.

WHAT!? I thought that the Gram was Grineer weapon long ago! Or im losing my frellin mind. I havent taken a look at its backgroubd for a while, but it had no faction classification as to what it was, i assumed it was grineer because of its plasma and grineer features.

What Grineer weapons have glowing blue energy edges though? And what “Grineer features” does it even have? Most people I know thought it was a Corpus weapon due to the way it looked with the rotating bits and simple symmetry but apparently in the game files it is classified as a Tenno greatsword.

I was pretty surprised when it was revealed as the next Prime melee for sure.

  3. I’d like to see the Javlok’s alt-fire actually made viable for a start. It doesn’t do nearly as much as it should considering you lose usage of the weapon, and are forced to reload once you re-obtain it. The Ferrox’s alt-fire is similarly underwhelming, as it doesn’t do an even decent job of containing enemies within the field let alone dealing damage.

I like your idea for the infested speargun, we could always use more infested weapons in this game.

  4. Yes, so much yes to the premise. It’s always bothered me that 1) the Infestation barely has any Grineer-type infested units and 2) the absolute lack of creepiness the infested convey, both visually and audio-wise. I find Grineer Ghouls more unnerving to encounter (especially during the Sacrifice). If possible I’d like to see a full visual rework alongside some new Grineer infested enemies, maybe when the infested open world happens.

While we’re on the subject of infested additions/changes the AI imo needs some looking at for various units. Instead of rushing you as a horde, I’ve noticed that the melee-based units will constantly stop a few feet away and fire their ranged projectile attack (chargers are especially guilty of this). This behavior is imo redundant when the infested already has ranged units and should be reserved for when the player is out of reach of the unit. There’s also the lazy-looking Scorpion grapple hook (complete with identical sound effects) that Ancients use. I’d greatly prefer it if they utilized a more fleshy-looking or energy-based grapple like the Paracyst. Finally Phorid is just absolutely pathetic as a boss. An upscaled charger recolour that often dies before it can do anything, unless it roars at the start I suppose. Juggernauts are both more intimidating and interesting as a “boss type” enemy.

We could also use some more unique infested weaponry. I’d love to see an Infested weapon that mutates enemies for example as I’ve always been curious as to how the infestation process occurs and would love to see it in action. Maybe have allied units during invasions mutate upon death to an infested unit, as it’s stated that infestation occurs even on non-lethal wounds in the Corrupted Ancient Simaris codex.

So yeah, infested could use some love for sure, though I realize DE is in full-on Corpus mode with Fortuna at the moment.

  5. I just want actual Spears as a weapon class. Pointy sticks with combos that combine sweeps and pokes, emphasis on the pokes. If that can’t be a thing then at least give us a spear-looking skin we can use with Twirling Spire.

As for your Shattered Blades idea, it sounds too powerful to have slash and pierce damage be buffed during the “cloud” form. Imo it should be the opposite. When the dual blades shatter, they lose damage but gain the ability to attack enemies automatically at range. I haven’t seen Bleach so I don’t know the intricacies of the weapon type you’re trying to capture but lastly I feel having a ranged melee that automatically attacks things would be rather boring to play. Maybe instead you could “mark” a target somehow and then all attacks you perform will hit that enemy at range or something.

  6. With the upcoming Fortuna update, a new companion will take the stage. Luxuriously gilded, an ornate symbol of Orokin beauty and design. Lavicious curves that will inspire awe in both friend and foe, accompanied by equally inspiring firepower and hardiness. A showstopper in every sense of the word, whether it’s accompanying you in the showroom or on the battlefield.

I refer to, of course, MOA Prime.

  7. In the last few recent devstreams they showcased melee 3.0 changes. You would probably be interested in these OP since they address a good part of your concerns.

For one, combos are being changed. You have a standing combo, and a combo that moves you forward if you press forward while attacking. These can be done in midair as well. The goal was to eliminate having to “memorize Morse code” in regards to combo strings. You supposedly can roll out of the attacks and chain heavy attacks in between them.

Secondly a new “gap closer” attack is introduced where the frame will attack while leaping forward, adding mobility to every weapon. This attack will change depending on the equipped stance.

Finally overall attack range is being buffed across the board, with swing effect trails that showcase the actual range of the attacks now.

The changes to the combo counter, channeling, and the mods dealing with those systems have been promised to be revealed at a later time. The current changes shown to the melee system however quell my fears that DE would be ignoring why certain weapon classes/stances are favored above others.

and if you use your secondary it fires grenade like balls awesome asf

You’ll notice that OP already realized this and commented on it. The thread was made when Phantasma was announced and back then we had no information on it having an alternate fire mode. 😛

But yeah I agree, the secondary fire looks great and does nice damage. Liking the animations and effects for sure!

  9. My issue is that it looks like a BFG. And Eidolons are know for their powerful chunky laser guns. Yet we get some rad-cloud spewing Synapse/Ignis 2.0.

I hope it at least sounds amazing, otherwise I’ll look forward to mastering it and tossing it in for credits.

  10. Dex Sybaris is given out for free alongside the other Dex items on Warframe’s anniversary through special alerts. “Playing for a long time” has nothing to do with it. You could make a new account right before the anniversary, have a friend taxi you to the missions and obtain them easily with less then a week played of Warframe.

Dex Sybaris is perfectly fine for what it is imo, a free and strong weapon that is viable through the star chart.

Imao I really think we should judge how phantasma works after we've got our hands on it. The footage shown to us on the stream did not reveal the build they're using (It might even be unmodded, muwhahaha). So we don't really know how effective it actually is against high level content. Who knows? It might be OP as hell (I hope), but we'll have to wait and see.

Even if it ends up being the strongest primary in the game, I doubt I’ll use it if it only has the mechanics shown in the devstream. My issue stems from the fact that it is an Eidolon-inspired shotgun yet DE chose to make it a fairly standard-looking status beam weapon. You look at enemies, pull the trigger and do your damage-ticks. Sure beam weapons are strong but I find them among some of the most boring weapons to use due to their mechanics and effects.

If the Phantasma ends up having a neat alt-fire or gameplay mechanic besides the above then I will happily eat my crow, but until then I will assume the worst while hoping for something better.

  12. Personally I believe Excalibur Prime was the first true “warframe” as we know them to be: powerful, stable, and controllable. Umbra was created later near the closing of the Old War, since Ballas had already betrayed the Orokin and put the plan to send in Lotus as a double-agent in motion. The reason for Umbra’s wildness is a side-effect of Ballas’s intentions: he wanted Umbra to suffer for discovering his betrayal and so ensured that he would be forever plagued by the memory of killing his own son. Umbra imo was no prototype, in fact his increased usefulness against sentients compared to the other Excalibur variants implies a refinement of the Warframe design (which as you all know, was to turn the tide against the Sentients).

So basically in my mind, Ballas used a improved Helminth formula on Umbra to turn him into a Warframe, and with his knowledge of the transformation process set up a scenario where Umbra’s last/only memory would be killing Issah in order to torture him.

  13. If you want a pistol with the look and feel of a hand-cannon, check out the Marelok series. The Marelok is literally the Grinlok lever-action Grineer rifle with a sawn-off barrel and stock. The result is a pistol that sounds like a rifle, with high damage and a slow firing rate that still retains enough accuracy to be used at most ranges. Plus it has some cool animations.

  14. I don’t level my weapons in Hydron or wherever people farm exp these days. I rank them up by playing missions, usually kuva or void fissures. Sure it takes a bit longer to rank them to 30 but it’s more fun in the end and I get more things done.

Also your mistake is assuming all the “good weapons” are primes. There are plenty of strong non-prime weapons that are good enough to do most content in the game. Don’t limit your perspective because you are too focused on the golden shinies.

  15. I’m trying to withhold judgement until I have the weapon in my grubby Tenno mitts but I still kinda agree with you OP. The effects shown on the Phantasma seem underwhelming in comparison to the weaponry the Eidolon sentients have showcased. I would have preferred a burst of Teralyst arm cannon styled projectiles, or maybe a rotating cone of Gantulyst styled laser beams.

  16. The worst part is that we had a viable alternative to the meta scaffold for a brief moment. I was happy that DE was finally attempting to inject some variety into amp-usage for Eidolon hunts but as it currently stands Phahd won’t see usage in even my pub Teralyst hunts. Here’s hoping the Quills in Fortuna offer more usable amps.

  17. Pssssh, Kraken was buffed during update 22.12 and even PBR’d on 22.20. While Hind received a new semi-auto alternative firing mode in update 20.0, and was buffed further during update 22.12. So even if those two are still lacking they at least got some attention. Meanwhile the true champion of ugly underrated Grineer badass cannons remains unloved and forgotten:

    .latest?cb=20140124172529

Stug, the Totally Not a Bio Rifle from Unreal Tournament gun, contender for one of the largest secondary weapons in the game, still has yet to receive a stat tweak AT ALL, let alone a PBR makeover or new variant. Update 22.12, with all of its sweeping buffs and stat changes, completely ignored our favorite goo thrower.  Though I suppose it doesn’t really need a buff, what with its whopping 5% Crit and 10% status alongside its completely useless alt-fire.

Thinking about I guess I wouldn’t mind a Hind or Kraken variant either but the Stug needs some love!
