  1. I honestly feel the same way in regards to riven disposition. If DE were to ever revamp rivens, I would like disposition to be based on MR, and then locked while separating disposition for variants - meaning weapons like Gram would have a 5/5 while Gram Prime would display 1/5 on the same riven mod. If it were up to me though I’d actually prefer a total remake of the riven system where the stats you get aren’t simply “+damage” or “-accuracy” like they are now, but rather one where rivens potentially change the way a weapon acts or plays. Explosive ammunition, homing projectiles, garunteed status procs on the first shot in a clip, reload upon kill, black hole aoes and the like. Dunno how one would apply that to Melee rivens but I guess Melee 3.0 will give us enough new toys to play with either way.

Also players set the riven prices, not DE. One of the consequences of a “free market”. Unless strong rivens become super weak or plentiful, you’ll always have an idiot offering their life savings for them. In my opinion DE’s been going about it the right way so far, not announcing the riven rebalance ahead of time to prevent market manipulation without directly going in and setting prices. We’ll see how they handle future riven disposition adjustments.

  2. All this would do is drive away experienced players. The main reason your issue occurs is because experience in Conclave isn’t a factor when it comes to matchmaking, meaning new players are matched with players who have been Conclaving for years. Plus recruit conditioning does a poor job of preparing players to handle regular Conclave matches, outside of the occasional smurf account.

  3. Guess I’ll be that guy and say that the Megathead tag is for staff and mods only according to the forum guidelines, so I’d remove it from your thread.

I wouldn’t mind a smaller warframe, as long as weapon holstering and finisher animations aren’t going to cause issues.

But, it garbage against most bosses. Your not going to be able to CC bosses. All the other weapons can handle bosses not problem.

Not trying to be rude but so what? That’s one of the reasons we can equip multiple weapons - to cover holes/weaknesses in our loadout.

Bring the right tool for the job. You wouldnÂ’t bring a status weapon to a boss immune to status, why would you bring a headshot-focused weapon to a boss immune to headshots?

  5. How would one get people to “come together in agreement” though? Forcing people to promote opinions that they don’t agree with? Silencing posters that have contradictory opinions?

Besides, the premise that we all need to agree on everything to remain relevant to the devs is flawed to begin with.  If you chose to ignore feedback just because it differs from the norm, you’ll never get an accurate view of the whole picture.

  6. Yeah I can certainly understand that sentiment, and as I said earlier there is definitely a demand for a hassle free full-lit syandana. I just hope that if/when DE ever addresses this, they will do so in a manner that will keep the variable lights of the syandana while also maintaining its status as a symbol of the Conclave.

When you purchase it you see it fully lit.

As Storm said above, the description also explains that the lights on the syandana vary depending on dailies done. Sure a player may not understand what it looks like unlit/partially lit until they own it, but it’s already clear that the syandana is not always lit unless the buyer has poor reading comprehension.

But really (and at the risk of sounding rude so apologies in advance), so what if it’s fully lit in the preview? Is that an excuse to ignore how the syandana works currently, and gloss over people who’d prefer unlit/partiallly lit as an option? What if a player did research before buying it and decided they liked it without lights, does the preview being fully lit invalidate their purchase?

  8. 32 minutes ago, S.Dust said:

The other syndicates are short term effects for the mission, also it is work if you enjoy the mode cause you dont always wanna play but you do want to use the syandana you earned.

That’s what the weeklies are for. Beat them and you get three pairs of lights for the rest of the week, with the fourth lighting up on a daily. Easy enough to maintain imo even for someone like me who is below average in Conclave.

Not saying your point isn’t valid, the number of threads on this illustrate that there is a demand for the fully lit syandana to be permanent after all. But what about those who don’t like it fully lit? Their purchase of the syandana would have been wasted in the case where your proposal goes through. That’s why I’m offering a solution that can work for pretty much every player preference.

  9. Rivens should modify base weapon stats. This would help actually bump up the weapons that need rivens to be competitive rather then serving as a useless bandaid due to a weapon’s lacking stats.

Im also of the opinion that DE needs to ditch the dynamic disposition based on popularity. No one buys rivens so they can watch the stats become weaker every week/month. Instead I suggest a static disposition based on MR, taking into account weapon characteristics like aoe and punch-through .

But yeah rivens need a rebalance/rework. The current situation is an issue even DE has acknowledged they dropped the ball on.

I mean people earned the syandana why should they have to keep putting in more work.

Imo it’s not really “work” if you enjoy the game mode. Besides every max rank Syndicate syandana has similar mechanics where they only obtain their “full” or “best” look when you complete a task, so the Conclave syandana doing the same is only fitting.

Plus what about those who like the look of it unlit, or with a certain amount of light pairs? Making it permanently fully lit would remove options for those players.

I feel the best solution imo would be to let players purchase permanent light pairs for more standing, maybe with the visuals being toned down slightly or changed to differentiate between those who earned their lights through dailies and those who did it through standing. This way players who prefer the dynamic version can keep that, while players who want it permanently lit can now do so.

The problem with that is how come he talks about them like on a one on one chat or in first person?

There are some where it’s obvious, like in the Nekros Prime trailer Ballas is clearly advertising Nekros to other Orokin/immortals - hence his use of “we”.

With that out of the way, i won't deny that the upkeep could use some tweaks even if it ended up being harder since daily tasks aren't challenging (these can be completed by playing the match, no need to get out of your way to do them) and weekly tasks will light a tail for a whole week when completed, making the upkeep really forgiving.

This is also a good point. Despite me being relatively rubbish at Conclave (constantly on the lower end of the scoreboard during matches), I have no problems completing the dailies and weeklies to keep the Celestia lit.

I think you guys dont understand

can we see plains of idleon enemies from lua? like when you are in the moon can you see them?

No, you cannot see enemies on Earth from Lua. They aren’t rendered that far, or even programmed to spawn in that situation.

And even if they were, you would need an extremely high-powered telescope to distinguish individuals.

  14. What about people who like the look of it unlit as a sort of minimalist syandana? Or people who like the look of it with a certain number of lights instead of full?

I propose that after you purchase the syandana you can redeem standing to “own” a pair of lights for it that you can turn off and on when you want. Maybe the lights would be slightly different to distinguish those who earned those through dailies compared to those who haven’t.

with channelling on way outdoor anything tied to channelling is pointless to whine about

Uh, did you quote the wrong dude or something? Where in my post was I complaining or whining about anything?

watt4hem was saying that he didn’t recall any special sound effects on armor, so I brought up the only armor that I remembered had noticeable sound effects: Edo Prime and its electric effect when channeling. Hope that clarifies things.

Look at dev stream 118 zhuge is totally unique and looks like a real crossbow semi auto and has much higher damage if it was unmodded

That’s not the Zhuge? Zhuge is a crossbow already in the game, the one on the devstream is a new one for Garuda that isn’t officially named yet.

  18. I can’t even. Kohm, the weakest shotgun? Kohm, the highest DPS shotgun in the game with a status riven? Kohm, the destroyer of level 150+ Grineer? That Kohm?

I can see a case for it being meh looking but I like how Grineer weapons look so each to their own, but Kohm needing a buff?

Whatever you are smoking, I would like some. I’m sure it would be an insane trip.

I would think that's how they decide on disposition for new weapons. based on the weapons potential DPS.

I would think so too, but even weapons like Zylok debut at a 3/5, while weapons like Stubba and Quartakk came out with 4/5 iirc.

The problem with such a formula is that it doesn't take into consideration the area of effect of said weapon. Imagine a Ignis-like weapon with Phantasma-like damage. They'd have the same damage but Phantasma would be vastly weaker.

True, but that is still easily accounted for since disposition is stored separately per weapon/variant. And the result imo is still more appealing then having constantly fluctuating dispositions - in regards to both balance and player investment.

Basically I feel that focusing on dynamic dispositions would be a mistake for DE, regardless of what they previously promised. Imo there’s definitely a better way to balance rivens while satisfying players that want a reason to put time/plat into their favorite underdog weapons.

Not really. I have a decent Snipetron Vandal riven and a Lanka without a riven. For Eidolons(the only place to really use a sniper), I still use the Lanka because it does better.

OP meant that under his proposal riven stats for high disposition weapons would be buffed to the point where Snipetron with a riven could compete with Lanka, not that it’s happening currently.

  21. 21 minutes ago, Sebastianx said:

Then if prices drop even lower, so be it, again, a price worth paying for the variety acquired in return.

Also, DE themselves said Rivens will be dynamic, because they realized it would just be ridiculous for someone to just sit there and adjust hundreds of weapons on a regular basis depending on how strong they are.

I’d be fine with lower prices. Spending over 100p for a riven is dumb imo but the market is what it is.

Also my proposal wouldn’t need someone to manually adjust them on a regular basis. The ranged weapons are currently sorted into various MR brackets thanks to a sustained DPS formula that takes into account crit and status. Basically the higher MR, the more powerful a weapon is (ignoring melee atm, but that will be changed in 3.0).

What I’d like DE to do is get rid of fluid disposition changes entirely and base disposition on the actual power of the weapon using said dps formula as a basis. So a low MR weapon will always have higher riven disposition then a high MR weapon. And variants would work the same way, so equipping a Sicarus riven on a regular Sicarus will result in higher stats then equipping it on a Sicarus Prime.

This would result in buffs to low powered/underused weapons while ensuring that Prime variants won’t become brazenly overpowered. And a static disposition would let Tenno invest in the riven of their choice with more security, knowing that what they are purchasing won’t suddenly change a few weeks later.
