  1. Why would I want to spend 300+ platinum on a riven that will only be usable every other week or so? That’s still a ridiculous price for something that is even more volatile then the current system.

Yes the riven system should be changed but imo dynamic disposition based on popularity isn’t the answer. If I were in DE’s position I would have the disposition adjusted based on whatever dps formula DE used to set up the ranged (and soon to be melee) MR brackets for weapons. This would also make a distinction between variants so equipping a Gram Riven on Gram Prime would result in lower stat values then regular Gram.

  2. Currently the Vitus Emblem emits particles in a rather janky (imo) manner. It sends a constant stream outward that reverses direction back inward periodically. I get that it’s supposed to resemble a heartbeat to fit in with the whole “life/survival” theme but I feel that this could be represented in a more visually appealing manner.

For example, having the emblem slowly release particles, with a thicker “burst” of particles every other second. Or maybe having a cluster of particles spawn around the emblem floating slowly, but pushed and pulled towards and from the emblem in a similar rhythm as they spawn and fade away.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks for a good answer.

Well, if they did add a clip to regular braton models and made the reload animation for it, isn't it only logical to add a clip to Prime as well? It just looks terribly awkward to reload a clip-shaped empty space.

It’s perfectly logical, and there’s actually several older weapons that could use updated reload animations as well. However, the reason why DE reworked the Braton and Burston models was because the originals weren’t fitting in with Tenno design aesthetics. The Braton Prime definitely fits in with Orokin design, so I imagine changing it wasn’t a priority at all.

Still, you never know. Since Braton Prime is one of the most versatile and easily obtainable Primes, DE might one day give it another look.

But it has now, doesn't it?

A while ago, DE remade the Braton’s model and sound effects alongside Skana, Lato, Kunai, and Paris. The new model added a magazine, but the original Braton did not have one.

Braton Prime was based off of the original magazine-less Braton model, and thus does not have one. So it’s not that it’s missing a magazine, it’s that it never had one to begin with. Burston also had a model revamp, but Burston Prime was not changed, so the chances of DE going back and adding a new model for the magazine or remaking Braton Prime are slim.

  5. What’s killing you is likely the magnetic shockwaves the Hydrolyst releases periodically, not to be confused with the waves it releases once it’s downed from a broken part. They do extremely high damage, enough to easily kill a frame with average health and armor.

The most common cause of said waves is from the large green orbs formed after the Hydrolyst stomps. These can be shot down with any rapid fire weapon. The secondary cause is a broken part, from which the Hydrolyst will release the wave occasionally.

I’ve found going into operator mode as soon as I’m hit with a magnetic proc usually saves me if I haven’t been paying attention enough to the orbs.

  6. Not sure what you mean by “hidden” in the combo list, since both combos you mentioned are definitely shown for me. Resplendent Calma is a hit - hit- pause combo, while August Mesto is a hit - block combo, both of which end in slam attacks.

  7. Interesting theory, but what about the Stalker’s codex entry? Where he describes the ending of the Orokin empire by Tenno hands? Where “a torrent of blood filled the stadium”? Pretty sure all peoples present were dead at that point or shortly thereafter, considering how lethal Warframes are.

Sure they might have been able to turn the corpses into Sentients but this would be after the Old War’s end, where the Sentient presence in the Origin System was all but eradicated. The Sentients fought on Lua were also described by Hunhow as his “fragments”, so I find the possibility that they were actually of Orokin genetic origin unlikely.

Imo Ballas’s transformation represents a new threat, a chilling ability that the Sentients may have developed in Tau or by necessity during their travel through the void.

Based on what?? I've never seen anything the remotely discusses the actual process.

The Simaris synthesis entries give an idea. The Detron Crewman entry describes death by the Jade Light as “erupting into a flash”, becoming “nothing but mist and gore”. Doesn’t sound like the bodies are left intact if you can identify pieces of them.

The entry even details the process of judgement before an execution.

& what I said was that it can't have those gold bits, because it's not even Umbra

I'm just answering from what you talked about ><

You said yourself that they might replace or not Umbra in the cinematic, & now you tell me "replaying the quest isn't relevant", you're the one that talked about it

Again, I chose my words by saying "almost", not everyone, don't make me say what I didn't

btw, if you have a picture/screenshot or something, or if one of your friends can take one, I'd like to see where it is, bottom right I'm guessing, but idk

I apologize because it seems I haven’t been clear. My posts about the lore were attempting to refute your statement that the toggle shouldn’t exist due to lore reasons. I was trying to explain 1) how the gold bits actually weren’t emphasized/important in the lore with the exception of the cutscene you used as an example, and 2) how DE could easily resolve lore issues in regards to customization of Umbra conflicting with said cutscene.

So while you are right, in that the Vitruvian doesn’t show Umbra, that is still part of my point here: the gold bits aren’t actually mentioned in the lore contrary to what you implied.

I never said replaying the quest wasn’t relevant. If you’ll re-read my post, you’ll notice I said (and I quote) “whether or not you feel like playing the quest isn’t really relevant”. My point there, bolded for emphasis, was that it doesn’t matter whether you specifically want to replay the quest, since the discussion was focused on the actual lore of the quest and not how fun or tedious it was to experience. Again, I apologize if I was unclear.

Finally you did say “almost nobody” and I should have put that in my earlier posts to avoid misunderstandings, but I’d still like it if you could clarify your stance on the matter since honestly anyone can say something like “almost everyone wants an Umbra detail toggle”.  Basically, what reasons do you believe justify NOT adding the toggle?

EDIT: Since I apparently am horrible with image tags, this imgur link should have the image you requested.

EDIT2: To be honest I feel kind of dumb for arguing about this anyways since it’s a moot point. If DE wants to do it and has the means to, then it’ll happen as long as the demand is there. I’m going to refrain from muddying up this topic any further and leave it at this regardless of your answer. Hope the image helps out and if you want I can also take example pictures of what the toggle actually does, though you should be able to find similar pictures on google or an example on YouTube.

The Vitruvian shows normal excal, not Umbra:

      Reveal hidden contents

    maxresdefault.jpg

Well no, behind, underneath, or whatever, that helmet, even custom ones, they are still the same inside, infested flesh & muscles

Very immersive, but I don't want to replay the quest just to find that out

Regardless what the Vitruvian shows, it isn’t showing or mentioning the gold bits which is what I was trying to address.

The point about the “fix” was to refute the potential break in lore that you were using as an example on why the Umbra toggle shouldn’t happen. Whether or not you feel like replaying the quest isn’t really relevant.

I’m also noticing that you seem to be ignoring my original point, which was that the toggle would only be a beneficial addition for fashion framers, whereas you seemed to be of the opinion that no one could benefit from the toggle in any way. Would you mind elaborating on that view please?

The only tennogen I have is the cape, that I don't even use anymore, so I can't see that button 😕

Yeah, no worries on that front. It’s only there to resolve potential texture and model conflicts since Tennogen skins aren’t designed for Prime models. Maybe DE will apply it to Immortal skins as well.

  11. 3 minutes ago, Xenox_Ilz-ot said:

Well yeah, you can equip base skins, but I don't see any "toggle" anywhere, I don't get it 😕

The toggle is only there if you’re using a Tennogen skin. Those allow you to toggle off the Prime model so you can avoid conflicts between the skin and the Prime model.

It's in the god damn lore that Umbra was designed like this, you can't just remove them.

Example, just look at the quest, he even uses his arms to hold your Operator against the wall, you can't remove something like that

How does that even address the points in my post? You were saying adding the feature would not benefit anyone in any way, when in my perspective it definitely would be beneficial. Just because it would “break the lore” doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be a beneficial change for fashion framing.

But alright, I’ll humor you. Nowhere in the written or spoken lore for the Sacrifice does Ballas mention specifically adding gold adornements to Umbra. Even the Vitruvian entry diagrams don’t show Umbra with those additions. So the main point of contention lore-wise is in the scene you mentioned, as that’s the only time Umbra does anything with them.

Interestingly enough in said scene, Umbra’s helmet reveals his eye before sealing back up, so his helmet is just as important lore-wise by that logic. But yet players can change that helmet with any other Excalibur helmet. Doesn’t that mess up the “lore” as well?

Plus the solution to that is easy regardless. Just force Umbra to be default during that cutscene (though I’m actually certain this is done already), and then allow players to customize him after so there is no conflict even upon replaying the quest.

The answer was from almost everybody in the other threads that were created at the time this question first asked, it is unnecessary & it won't really benefit anyone in any way to add something that insignificant to the game

I’m not sure how you can say this with the amount of threads asking for the feature. It obviously would benefit almost anyone, since it would give them more options to customize Umbra. Sure, it’s not necessary but how would adding it be a bad thing? Those who don’t care or like the gold bits can just ignore it, while those that do now have a reason to play Umbra more or purchase more Excalibur Tennogen skins.

  14. They have to release new content though, it’s the bread and butter of a f2p game. What draws in new players more? “Brand new open world with ninjas on hoverboards and giant spiders!” Or “Multiple arsenals in the simulacrum now available!”

If there’s a time to polish and iterate existing content, it’d be between big content updates where they can ultilize the influx in funds from the increased amount of new players/wallets while capitalizing on the accordingly increased feedback post-new content honeymoon.

The idea you have for it it alright, but nothing will be better than the original iteration.

I disagree with this notion. The original system has flaws and certainly not “perfect as-is”. Fauld and suit component clipping issues, muddy and jarring texture channels, incompatibilities between various hoods, hairstyles, and facial accessories, and straight up bugs such as Commodore Prime missing emissives for female body types. There are several looks I want to try but simply can’t due to either the current limitations of the system or clipping/texture issues that look horrible.

The issue in my mind is that the attempted fix went about it the wrong way, cutting each suit set into distinct “parts” for legs, arms, chest and ect without respecting the original design of the outfits. Ideally, I’d like them to iterate and improve upon the current set up - where the suit area controls the main body/undersuit, with the arms and legs adding on different style of greaves, gauntlets, gloves and boots. Just polishing out the clipping and texture issues while giving us more freedom in the variety of cosmetics we can equip at once would imo satisfy most players in regards to dressing up their void children.

  16. I would actually be okay with this, as long as the Legendary tier weapons did not reward any mastery points. That way even if it’s a hard to obtain “exclusive” weapon for hardcore farmers, casual players won’t be missing out by choosing to not obtain it.
