You're right, we could always do research. And if someone says "nobody forced you to buy it", he's also right. But in the video they didn't show the low damage, nor the absurd ammo consumption. They showed a cool rifle doing cool stuff.
That's marketing. If they showed every bad side of the weapon in the video, nobody would want it.

And how much would this affect the time spent in switching weapons? A too quick animation would make it look extremely silly, and a long animation would just be annoying.

Why not give it something more unique and fitting for a freeze ray instead (i.e.: Unique mechanics [say freezing parts of an enemy's body?]).
It already does, slowing the enemies down while doing so. And when the enemies die, they turn completely into ice and then explode or melt.

You could always do some maths on the stats to see if it is worth it before buying it. The update teaser video also had Glaxion in it, showing its mechanics (a.k.a. the one beam).

Can you define free roaming for me? For me, my Kubrow only walks out of the incubator and starts sitting there without moving anywhere.
I was expecting the Kubrows to actually walk around the ship.

That is too much. Using Rifle Scavenger you would be able to restore 250-375 ammo. You need 20 ammo pickups to fill 540 ammo. 1500/27 is about 55, so the pickups should restore about 50-60 ammo each.

Amprex deals double the DPS on multiple enemies, and actually is a critical weapon. Glaxion has 1% crit chance.

The big map size is only tied to the excavation missions. The Excavations maps in Earth and Phobos are huge as hell as well.

Have you tired it with Critical Delay? I haven't gotten the weapon yet but hearing this disturbs me. If anything that mod can in theory help, but like putting it on the Amphrex, I imagine it won't do anything. I also can't imagine adding crit to it will help just to try and justify a slower fire rate. All in all I love the continuous fire weapons in this game, it is something other games just don't do, but when they make one that deplete ammo as fast as the Amphrex and so on, it kills the vibe that those weapons can create.
Critical delay has such a huge impact on the DPS that it would be better to use a Braton for higher DPS. Braton also has unlimited range vs Glaxion's limited range.

Venka is S#&$. If it had a bit higher crit chance and damage, it would be great.
I personally like the new Kronen a lot. Bo Prime and Dragon Nikana are my other favorites.

If you like playing on Oberon, it's obviously worth it.
What all did they update? I only saw his armor was updated, which was the least of his problems, imo.
Don't get me wrong, I never thought Oberon was as bad as the rest of the community (maybe because I know how to play to a Frame's strengths), but I will agree he was in need of some buffing due to being consistently outclassed by other frames.
Is it so hard to read the patch notes yourself?

It's kinda hard to mine a gas planet (unless you're gathering the gases themselves), so:
But how do you remove all the Oxygen from the outdoor areas? It's the same problem as on-planet survivals IMO.

If you go keep hopping in and out of Dojo, you can send messages without the waiting time. But I'm pretty sure that guy used some other method since he sent the second message right after the first one.
