  1. Just had this happen to me today. went here to post about it but it seems that won't be necessary xD (although it's clear this hasn't been addressed properly.)

just happened twice during Sanctuary Onslaught as I was leveling a brand-new Yareli.

    - Was riding Merulina
    - pressed 5 for Transferrence
    - instantly, Yareli disappears, and there is no way to return to her

    - also, Operator is now invincible (kinda hilarious) and is ignored by enemies
    - all Affinity progress I made with Yareli and my equipped weapons was lost. (In fact, the mission results screen was devoid of any information)

  2. ...He has a high skill cap, which means the majority of players leveling him will take a while to figure out how his powers work.

For those that do, he's a pretty meta sortie frame; he's great for cheesing Mobile Defense, rescue, Plains bounties, spy, defense, and more.

But most of the time, he's just annoying for people that like to shoot stuff without being interrupted.

I honestly think Limbo's fine in his current build, except that he used to synergize well with Nova, but now if Nova casts an antimatter drop from Rift, she can't charge it.

But I'll take that over suddenly not being able to shoot an entire crowd of enemies because a pubscrub Limbo decided to randomly nuke.

That being said, Limbo was already great in his last build. The fact they've removed the function of stasis to freeze bullets makes it slightly less unique and useful, but also makes Limbo even more powerful unnecessarily.

  3. These are just some little thoughts I've had many times, but never posted here. I guess I half-expected someone to have suggested these by now, but since we've never seen these sorts of changes, I'll ask about them now:

    1. Global Visual Scheme selectors.

Right now, in Arsenal, each piece of equipment gets 3 visual presets that can be saved. Your A, B, and C presets. What's nice about having separate A, B, and C schemes for each item is that nothing gets locked into a global scheme. We have the option to copy colors, etc but we are not forced to. This is fine, but what about when we want to match the colors (or rather the presets) for everything in our arsenal each time we switch equipment?

There is a separate scheme setting for:
    -Warframe
    -Primary Weapon
    -Secondary Weapon
    -Melee Weapon
    -Sentinel / Pet
    -Archwing
    -Arch-Gun
    -Arch-Melee

And I'm the sort of guy that wants everything to be matching, color-scheme-wise. Maybe not the exact same colors on EVERYTHING, but I do "green" looks on my A schemes, "red-or-yellow" looks on my B schemes, and "blue-or-purple" looks on my C schemes. It can be tedious to have to switch color schemes for 4 or 8 different things every time I switch equipment, especially since the visual scheme also saves things like which Sigil I'm wearing, or perhaps affects the elemental nature of abilities like Exalted Blade, or Chroma's kit.

What would be nice is if we could have global A, B, and C scheme selector buttons. I'm not saying to do away with being able to pick schemes separately, but simply adding three buttons at the main Arsenal screen that allows one to quickly set all current equipment (and archwing equipment) to one of the 3 presets before going in to each item and picking individually. So if I just want to match everything, I don't have to go into each item and change schemes around 4 or 5 times. I simply press one button and everything gets set to A, for instance.

Speaking of warframes with abilities that are affected by color schemes......

    2. Adding a fourth visual scheme option for warframes/weapons with Chromatic effects.

It's always been weird to me ever since Chroma's release that Chroma has 4 different versions of his powers based on his glow color and the 4 base elements, yet since there are still only 3 visual scheme presets for him, players can never save visual schemes for all 4 of his elements. Now that Chromatic Blade is a thing, it affects more than one warframe. I think having colors affect elemental alignment has been a cool idea ever since its implementation and would appreciate seeing more creative uses of appearance settings like that, but let's be able to use it to its full extent.

Maybe the simplest solution here would just be to add a "D" scheme for everything?

    3. Replacing "Copy Warframe Colors" button with general-use "Copy to... / Paste from..." buttons.

"Copy Warframe Colors" has been a great option when I'm coloring a new weapon and want to start by matching its schemes to one of my warframes. But what about when I get a new warframe? I either have to pick colors from scratch or randomize. I can't copy colors from a weapon or my sentinel unless I manually go through each swatch slot and find the swatches again. My suggestion here would involve a simple UI addition; a "Copy to..." button that brings up a submenu where I can choose other items in my arsenal to copy the current scheme to, and a "Paste from..." button right below it that opens the same submenu, but allows me to paste a scheme from a different item.

    For Example:

I'm customizing my Warframe colors. I click "Paste from..." and a submenu pops up with:

    - Attachments
    -Syandana
    - Primary Weapon
    - Secondary Weapon
    - Melee
    - Sentinel
    - Archwing
    - Arch-gun
    - Arch-melee

I select "Primary Weapon" and the visual scheme from my primary weapon gets loaded onto my warframe.

    4. A Custom Swatch option.

I've bought or acquired every color pack ever released, and yet I find myself so often wishing for the ability to just create a custom color from RGB or HSB sliders. (Cuz I just CANNOT find the right gray, or green. lol)

I would pay pretty platinum (a justifiably increased price, like maybe even 200-250) for a "Custom Swatch Picker" option among the color packs. So unlike other color packs, the Custom Swatch Picker would just bring up a single large square with RGB or HSB sliders. As it's more expensive and manually controlled, I'm sure this wouldn't detract from the arranged color packs, as those who don't want the freedom to make exact colors might prefer colors that are picked for them. (I know most of y'all use the Randomize button too much. lol) But for guys like me that really pay attention to colors (graphic designer alert) I would LOVE to be able to perfect mine.

Do I want some kind of visual proving how long I've been here?  Well, sure but I want that to be a visual thing that has no impact on a players progression or effectiveness in missions. But ultimately, I'm playing this game because it's fun and I enjoy the people I play with, not to show off my veteran status.

This. Nuff said. If you're leaving the game, bye.

I've been around since closed beta and this doesn't insult me in the least. In fact I'll applaud DE any time they do something in the name of balancing the game around good gameplay or difficulty, and keep exclusives to cosmetics. That's the way it was in the early days and that's what led me to spend money on the game in the first place. And that continued fairness is primarily what's kept me around.

  5. @OP:

How about no. Making all abilities require LOS would immediately put all the AOE frames at a huge disadvantage. Casters like Nova, Ember and Saryn rely upon their ability to kill enemies without presenting a target as they are squishy in direct combat.

I can appreciate your desire for balanced gameplay, but we're never going to see that in WF. It's just not DE's intention.

But let's get back to the problem now:

So nukers are hilarious on low-level missions but this is only due to the RPG damage system and the fact there's no mode like "ultimate Vault Hunter mode" to always balance enemies against player level. Try bringing nukers to endgame -- sorties. endless 40 waves+, raids, etc -- and they have the hardest time staying alive out of anyone. The only reason we return to low-level missions is for farming. But if you suggest we start making farming more difficult, you'll have to face the angry mob of players that will come after you. Lol

There was a time where I would have argued that the real game breaking frames are the ones that manage straight invincibility for a time, but now the operators are a thing, even that's of little concern. But I think nukers are actually among the most balanced frames bc at high-level play, they require the most effort to survive with.

Loki or Rhino could just press 2 and they're fine. Valkyr could press 4 and she doesn't have to try with anything. Nova and Saryn are already squishy and die a lot so don't you dare suggest we nerf them.

  6. [ Comments about Speed Nova making waves go faster. ]

So, to do the actual math, I just played about a dozen 5-wave Hydron runs. 2-3 with Speedva in pubs, and 2-3 with Slova in pubs, then a couple each solo.

Pub games varied from ~3:30 - 4:30, but I'm pretty sure this had more to do with the other players. (the ones with good Volt/Embers went faster) Got 1 person killed once too with Speedva. (Oh and we also had G3 show up in one, Stalker in another. Didn't really affect the finish time.)

I finished all the solo ones in *identical* time: just under 4 mins. (approx. 3:55) Timer ran from the moment the first wave started (paused for stage transition "waves") to the moment everyone's health turned gray at the end of wave 5.

There was also no point in going longer than 5 waves as enemies only climb in level.

Both Novas ran *Identical weapon setups* and Enemy Sense. (The Speedva also has Rejuv for aura)

This experiment proves my earlier conclusion: Speedva *doesn't actually make waves go faster.* It all depends on how active you are as a player.

@--Q--Nyu you wanted proof I wasn't trolling earlier question mark? Here you go.

    Yep really bad matchups.

We're talking weeks worth of games tho bro. Months' worth. I've encountered Speedvas dozens of times and never seen one surpass me in kills or dealt dmg. Half the time, I was on an unranked or low-level frame too.

If the skill set required for Speedva to be decent is so niche, then this is still a point worth talking.

We all get crap matches from time to time.

Well then I just must always get the worst matchups because I've never seen a Speedva that could properly carry.

Almost every time I'm in a match with one, they have the lowest dmg percentage and kills (or close to it.) I'm usually the one carrying.

  9. Everyone wants to blame everything but the actual culprit....

    @(Xbox One)RPColten "it seems you've run into more of a public-lobby/audience issue rather than a game/character issue."

@Mr.Snipersmiley "The problem isn’t the frames it’s the players, if they’re dying because the enemies got slightly more difficult it’s on them, then that’s their problem NOT the speedvas."

@trndr "If players die due to speed nova, it's due to not having any usefull equiptment, and they would have died anyway."

So... is it the players being noobs... or is it bringing unranked/crappy equipment? Why can I bring whatever the hell I want when Speedva isn't around and do just fine, but only have problems when Speedva is there? Maybe it's because she's partially buffing enemies? I don't know...

I don't even know with this one....

@trndr "my point is it doesn't matter if you die quick or slow, you're dead anyway."

Pretty sure the rate at which you take damage is a pretty big factor in staying alive, buddy. Just ask anyone ever who's played a game (like this one) where you have a numerical health pool.

  10. 2 minutes ago, (Xbox One)RPColten said:

Instead of going on a personal inquisition to see a frame being changed, why not take to chat and attempt to let other players in the group know that a Speed Nova can be a bit of a detriment to unknowing and unprepared players? If you see people in a public lobby using a Speed-Nova in a situation that may not be ideal, let them in on what makes a situation good or bad for her and move on. If you've got the knowledge about her, spread that and let others in on how to do well with her. You'll only be helping the community at that point instead of trying to tear down something that has become somewhat of a 'fifth-ability' as it were for Nova.

TL;DR if a Speedva is speed-priming, ask them to stop and let them know why.

Again, I've tried this. Numerous times. It always results in an argument not unlike the one I've started on the forums (except it's funnier when you're actually in the match where the Speedva is getting ppl killed)

They don't listen. They troll harder cuz now they think it's funny that someone is "raging."

I made a forum post precisely because I'm tired of getting nowhere with individuals and thought I should bring this to DE's attention.

I guess the difference between doing half a million and three quarter million damage is really relevant.

It actually is when you're fighting sortie-level enemies or higher. (Esp bosses or eximus)

And it's actually a difference of 200k dmg (at 100% str) and 600k damage (at 300% str) and everything in-between.

It's the difference between being able to still oneshot them or having to cast two AMDs, and potentially die in the process. Who fought level 150+ Ambulas with Nova again? Oh that's right; I did. (I had help, of course, but our run set records for 2 clans.)

They speed up the inherent grind of the game

If making the first few waves of a defense mission (only one of many game types) is that much of a deal maker for you, then you should consider playing other game modes more.

A few here keep criticizing the suggestion to remove speed-prime from Nova on the case that it *adds more ways to build the character.*

....I listed like eight different ways to build Nova in the beginning that all have varying uses. Speed is only good for one thing... And that's an arguable point which is why I brought it up.

    2 hours ago, Caelward said:

My opinion that 'Speed Nova is fine' is just as valid as your opinion that 'Speed Nova is terrible'.

Maybe... But this point is in and of itself a problem. Some players, like you, are fine with a mechanic that makes things harder. And if at least most of the time people were ready for it and it was playable, I'd be fine with it too.

But some players, like me, are fed up with it because when we don't want it we can't avoid it. A couple people suggested asking them to stop. Have you tried it? People will do it all the more cuz now they think I'm a noob who deserves to be trolled.

It's not like this happened once or twice and I'm just complaining cuz a Speedva got me killed.

It's been this way for months.. my entire recent experience with Speedva players. I'm convinced the ones defending her here are the trolls that are trying desperately to hang onto their laughs.

  13. 2 hours ago, Caelward said:

It's not going to change with only you shouting at people from your porch to get off your lawn.

I've been presenting well-constructed arguments using both examples of consistent negative experiences in gameplay and how the mechanic itself is the culprit.

The opinion here is that *You* like it (and a few other guys; notice it's been like the same 5 ppl responding mostly, not 99% of the player base?)

Everyone here who likes it has also freely admitted to being a Speedva player. They also shamelessly declare that when their teammates get killed it can't possibly be because they're using an ability that's partially buffing enemies; it HAS to be because 90% of everybody else is just noobs that can't stay alive.

In any other situation we would all admit that success in most of Warframe's gameplay usually comes down to proper gear more than it does actual skill (only 1-2 frames are currently capable of soloing Eidolons because they have skills suited to keeping themselves alive) EXCEPT for Speedva... which despite actually buffing enemies is totally fine and should be left alone. All those guys dying because of it are just noobs. Every single one.

How dare anyone suggest DE take away my ability to save a few seconds of time on occasions to change something that is actually getting a lot of ppl killed and spoiling their fun?

  14. 2 hours ago, NukeTheCore said:

This is not a real solid argument... because with that criteria you should make Limbo disappear.

Exactly how is "Speedva is hurting players by making enemies faster" not a solid argument?

The evidence is plain for all to see... Even the ones here defending Speedva admit it's a hard mode.. they're just willing to to put up with it while I have endured too many matches where Speedva screwed everybody to put up with it any more.

Ehh.. Limbo could probably do with a rework as well at some point.. but at least you can roll out of an unwanted rift. There's nothing you can do short of bringing a Provoke Equinox to avoid an unwanted speed-prime.

  15. 17 minutes ago, (PS4)ArtPrince17 said:

LOL, please. That's a you problem. Not everyone is like you, or your teammates.

This is exactly the attitude I get from Speedva players if I speak up when they start getting teammates killed. Problem is the correlation is definitely with Speedva.

Speedva not present = teammates are fine.
Speedva present and casting 4 = teammates get killed.

You ever think that maybe.. I don't know.. SPEEDING UP ENEMIES has anything to do with enemies suddenly getting better at killing your team?

  16. 15 minutes ago, Sabreracer said:

SpeedVa was an un-intended byproduct of her rework but was so popular that she stayed.  You not liking that aspect doesn't mean she should be changed back, DE listen to feedback and 99% of the feedback in this thread is "leave her as she is".

I was fine with it back then too. But that was before DE started making enemies that actually hurt. (Nullifiers, Noxes, Charger spit-balls, Mutilist Ospreys, etc)

I don't want it changed because I personally don't like it. I want it changed now because it doesn't benefit the gameplay any more (not that it was super-advantageous then)

ALL it's ever been good for is speeding up the first few waves of some endless missions. That's really not a game-changer. Back then it was lolzy, but it didn't cause any problems. Now it does.

I really can't believe you all think it comes down to people bringing unleveled gear. Unleveled gear or not, Speedva gets people killed because she SPEEDS UP THE DANG ENEMIES. It's so darn obvious and I know for a fact there are many out there who feel the way I do that Speedva hurts a LOT more than she helps. (perhaps they're staying quiet because they're more afraid of getting flak than I am)

I also would like to mention now I recently ran into a Speedva during an Index run that was literally just trolling. That was great.

and this sort of thing is why it's problematic for gameplay.

You don't know when or where you're going to run into it. Odds are you won't be prepared for it. If you are, cool. Good on ya. But if you're not, it makes the game way less fun. And "If you don't like it, leave" is anything but a productive attitude for the community.

If Speed-prime had never been an option (as was originally planned) then we wouldn't be here having this argument, because there wouldn't be an alternative to Slowva and no one would find Slowva "boring."

D.E. has been good about reducing trolling in WF. Limbo got his just desserts (you can roll to get out of an unwanted rifting) Vauban sort-of can't troll-bounce any more (because Operators simply ignore his pads) and Loki can't switch-teleport people off of extraction.

Nothing has been done about speed-nova, and yes: It's troll when it's unwanted. It's a stupid troll move that can't be avoided.
