Big silver orb, what is it for?

No, it is a ball but with reflective surface and no bits coming out of it...worth a shot though.

No, definitely not one of those two.

When i saw it the thing was just sitting against a wall.

It wasn't near anything important, it was just sitting there.

That's why, when I first came across it, I thought it was something smashable, like the Orokin containers or the chests you find all over the game that have credits or whatever inside them.

But no, it cannot be broken.

It doesn't even make a noise when you hit it.

I've Googled various things and I can't find it anywhere.

I've gone on Google again and I've found something that looks very similar. 

I don't know how to attach an image, but the thread (from this forum) was about energy orbs. 

It showed pink ones, green, blue etc...and a silvery reflective one that was apparently an old one, possibly not in use any more.

I'm not certain that is it, but it's the closest I've seen.

So at this stage it is possible it's an old model of an energy orb that for some reason has been left in certain levels.

First, that transformed ball was just a joke, it's not even in the game

I didn't want to be rude. 

I'd said repeatedly it was an orb, with a silvery reflective surface...the only thing it has in common with your image is the round part. 

But I didn't want to be abrupt and ask you if you are registered blind...lol

I'll try and post the image though, I just couldn't do it earlier.
