Nightwave is unreasonable and convoluted

Many hated the Alert system because what you wanted or needed you missed because of life.

NW is a flawed system no matter how many DE white knights are trying to paint it as god's gift to mankind.

It is trying to act as two different things, a syndicate and a credits system, they need to pick one or the other.

Is it a credit system or is it a syndicate standing system?

If it is a syndicate system then it needs to ACT like one.

It is as simple as that.

On to the topic of Alerts, just bring it back and tweak it to only drop resources.

I understand the hate for the old Alert system. It needed changed.

However, as you said, NW just isn't the change a lot of us wanted.

There's a bunch of things they could have done, other than copy-catting the Battle Passes from Battle Royale games, to be honest. They could have just made it straight up like Cephalon Simaris and you just buy what you want with the standing points (they could impose limited quantities per week if they wanted), or they could have pooled all the alerts up and make them all 24h duration, and you just pick the ones you want to do in any given day.

Both of these would have been better than the convoluted system we got.

You do realize you've just described Alerts, right?  Except that now, instead of randomly having about an hour window to do a random tedious mission at a random time or you miss it you have a week to do an array of missions of which most are achievable through regular play and can choose to receive the actually important rewards.

I never said Alerts shouldn't be changed.

They needed changed.

However, they went about it the wrong way. What would have worked way better, was a Cephalon Simaris type thing where you do the Acts, get the Standing and then use the standing to buy what you want. No Seasons, No Time Limits (aside from the daily/weekly resets on the Acts that is...), none of that bull.
