Tbh, with good builds most weapons will carry you through the game. I used Hek through out the whole star chart and beyond, until I learned that Opticor exists. You really should try them all and see what works for you and your playstyle.

^ This guy gets it. Also, as you explore using new weapons and getting the Mastery points from it, you'll be able to get whatever other weapons are MR-locked. Many people, like myself, swear by the Tigris and its hilariously good Status Chance for tons of Bleed Procs.

Though, if you've been liking the Hek, try for its Vaykor variant from Steel Meridian, or at least get the Hek Mod that adds 120% Multishot to it.

I always thought there was an OP or better to use. Usually i want to just mow down the enemies. Thanks anyway.

There's plenty of weapons of all kinds that can do that, also half the warframes. Hek is a middle ground shotgun like Strun Wraith or Astilla (good alpha, good volume of fire), if you want single target deletion you go with Tigris Prime or Exergis, for crowd wiping I'd suggest Boar Prime, Corinth or Arca Plasmor, and that's just primary shotguns. There aren't any guns that are good for everything, with time you'll just learn to pick the right tool for the job.

Said Mod for the Hek is Scattered Justice, and I must apologize. I got the numbers wrong.

At Max Rank it adds 200% Multishot to the Hek, not 120%. Once 2,000 affinity is acquired, the weapon discharges a radial explosion dealing 1,000 Blast damage to enemies around the player, restores 25% of maximum Health, and temporarily increases the maximum Armor by 15% of the Warframe's base Armor.

You have to gain enough standing with Steel Meridian. Talk to them in one of the Relays and you'll get their sigil --- paste it on your Warframe and as you gain affinity in missions, you get standing with them. At certain amounts of Reputation you'll have to sacrifice a few items to get up to the next rank. At higher ranks you can run missions for them to get medallions that add even more standing with that Syndicate.

Be warned -- gaining reputation with one Syndicate will cause you to drop with another.

Just to add to the post above, most of the syndicate stuff is tradable, so if you've picked different syndies, you can just trade for the stuff you need from others.
