Rengakun
Chainswords! Chainsaws in the shape of a Sword! Also much more ergonomically suited for chopping up people than a regular chainsaw. Introducing a Gyrojet Firearm, the Bolter! 30-round magazine, .75 calibre, fully-automatic. Or was it a 4-round burst? I'm not so sure. Heavy Bolters! HMG version of regular Bolters. Fires .998 calibre Gyrojet rounds. Meltaguns work by firing a blast of pure fusion-based heat energy that can vaporize most organic troops, and even melt through tanks. Short range. So, what do you think? Will DE face lawsuits if we implement these ideas? This post inspired by: https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/115379-we-need-a-chainblade-and-heavy-boltor/ EDIT: Removed some silly analogies the first 2 posters pointed out EDIT2: Fixed some spelling errors. ValhaHazred
I don't really think the Warframe Boltor has much to do with the Warhammer one. Seeing as it shoots bolts it makes more sense than the Warhammer one, which should clearly be called a Rocketer. :P Flux and Spectra are Pulse lasers. Melta guns are more like suped up flamethrowers. I would not say no to a chainsaw sword.
SilentCynic
As much as I am a W40k fan, I have to disagree. The Boltor fires darts, the Bolter operates as a gyrojet weapon. The Flux rifle fires a kind of energy beam, while the Melta, true to its name, relies on pure heat to melt through armour. If you're going to try to compare those two, you're essentially saying many beam weapons in science fiction are ripping off the Melta.

Well, someone said "Heavy Boltor" in another thread, causing me to somehow think that the Boltor is somehow similar to the Bolter... :P I just realized that the Flux and Spectra fired lasers and not blasts of pure fusion-based heat energy... Rengakun
the question is: Why should DE add weapons that wouldnt even fit in the games design.... Well, it's mostly the weapon's behavior and mechanics that should be implemented. The aforementioned things can fit into the design. Now, as for the actual design (i.e. the gun itself and how it looks), it is a shell to contain the weapon behaviors and mechanics so that it can fit in the game. We can change the "shell" to fit in Warframe instead of being directly ripped-off from WH40K.

Rengakun
Bite me but Planetside2 was rather boring also Dosh to win. I barely played Planetside2 for 4 hours before formatting the HDD I installed it on. I disliked it that much. There's also talk of Mainland China Elitist Min/Max'ers hacking the game and using VPNs to Lag Shield their way to victory. Thanks to the in-depth kill records, I managed to know several hackers who managed to kill 20 players in a minute (Me included). I remember once, the TR was left with 2 bases and the VS decided to commence Base-Rape operations. They focused on the base I kept spawning in. Things just got messy for the TR from that point. Then, there's the P2W. That GODDAMN FULLY-AUTOMATIC NC GAUSS RIFLE those hackers use for some reason. It was rather boring too.

B-but wouldn't your Warframes be considered Hikou Launchers if you fully mod out their ROF? [insert emoticon that means we're joking and not being serious here] NO I WANT MY RAZOR-DISC FIRING ASSAULT RIFLE AND I WANT IT NOW!!! D:< I don't wanna play with silly mon-keigh weapons, only the best the Craftworlds have to offer! [who would take this seriously anyways, it's kinda obvious that we're just joking] Seriously though, I'd kill to have an actual laser sniper/assault rifle. A la Las rifles or brightlances. Lanka is like Plasma, heavy and slow, make lasers hitscan, deal heat damage, and have less punch in comparison. Because who doesn't want to be the IG? RossRam
I already see my Rhino as an Imperial Assasin. Charging Corpus with a chainaxe, shouting "For the Emperooor!!!" One more time, on a serious note, I really want some kind of a chainsaw. Chainsword, chainaxe, chainfist, eldar chainsword or just giant pink chainsaw - any chainthing would be nice for me. Destro6677
Hi all, I'm the author of the thread Rengakun quoted and I'm just stopping by to explain why I said heavy Boltor. In my mind, the bolter and boltor serve the same function: high caliber, high damage weapons. Seriously, the boltor's darts are huge. I understand they don't explode, but they both ignore armor below durasteel grade and deal high consistent damage. Several other 40K weapons we're lacking for now: Agonizers, power claws (maybe as a kogake skin), and mandiblasters. Definitely would like to see mandiblasters. ValhaHazred
I had to look up mandiblasters, since I don't really pay attention to the Eldar. What a needlessly overcomplicated weapon. For those who don't care to look it up it's a flechette shotgun that fires a laser at it's flechettes so they explode. It has a max range of 2 meters! For those who don't care to look it up it's a flechette shotgun that fires a laser at it's flechettes so they explode. It has a max range of 2 meters! But I thought it fired small energised needles, just to give them the extra kick (like a power weapon). From all my readings I've never heard of the needles exploding. :/ The Striking Scorpions are never long range fighters, they specialise in stealth and close-quarters combat. The Shuriken pistols are often used to harry enemies, giving them the opportunity to step in closer and put their chainswords to good use. Mandiblasters are used in a similar way, to supplement melee and not for gunning down enemies from long range. EDIT: Thinking again, it's just like the Djinn's needle gun, but attached to the sides of your cheek instead of on a Sentinel. But firing spikes laced with energy, instead of poison. Screw a joke emote, that is true. Have you used max gunslinger and torrent on Hikou? It's ridiculous! Brimir
A Warframe Boltor fires, essentially, crossbow bolts. A Warhammer 40K Boltor fires bullet-shaped grenades - that is bullets that also explode after penetrating. Until we get that, we're in the clear. ValhaHazred
Until we get that, we're in the clear. I think the Seer is supposed to do that. Besides Gyrojets and Frag-12s are real things, so explodig bullets are totally fine in any game.
Brimir
They are not exploding bullets. They are bullet-shaped grenades. Wrap your head around that for a second. Warhammer 40K is awesome like that.
