are you looking for something else? I may have what you are looking for. =)

I don't know how Valkyr's skil functions yet so yea. I'm clueless. Hahaha.

why not a shot to the groin area? that would definitely HURT!

Hahaha. well I think you got until next Wednesday to actually have a whole story. you know, a small update on lore can mess your story. xD

Yes I know!

When I saw the Excal lore, I mean, plans changed. I had the skeleton ready for Calypso's sidestory, but then Alad V died(?). decimated him with my fully modded Brakk. Okay, change of plans, Calypso does something.

Then Excal lore comes, okaaaayy. Now, Tenno are Void Freaks, and have no relationship with Hayden Tenno at all. Scrap that. Write something else.

Then Stalker lore comes, BAM! Roshambo from a Rhino! Back to the drawing board...

TEASER FOR "WARFRAME ZERO - REDUX 01"

Warframe Zero – Redux 01 – The Lost War

"The Sentients had won. They had turned our weapons, our technology, against us. The more advanced we became, the greater our losses. The war was over unless we found a new way. In our desperation we turned to the Void. The blinding night, the hellspace where our science and reason failed.

We took the twisted few that had returned from that place. We built a frame around them, a conduit of their affliction. Gave them the weapons of the old ways. Gun and blade. A new warrior, a new code was born. These rejects, these Tenno, became our saviors. Warrior-Gods cast in steel and fury striking our enemies in a way they could never comprehend.

Excalibur was the first”

-Orokin “Warframe” Archives

“Some have walked these desolate worlds while you slept. Some like me. I remember what you did. I remember the day.

The Tenno appeared at the Terminus, gleaming and victorious. Our cold and gold Emperors, breathless, bathed you in savior's silk. Then came the sound. Across all our worlds, all at once, the ceremonial Naga drums. A royal salute to the honored Tenno. Ten solemn beats to declare the suffering was over. I watched from a distance, with the rest of the low Guardians. With each beat terror began to crush my throat. The Tenno were not stoic and silent, They were waiting. They were poised. I tried to call out but only a strangled whisper escaped.

When the ninth beat rang a torrent of blood filled the stadium, loosed by Tenno blades. The drums, the Empire, fell silent forever.

Now I hunt, dividing your numbers. Watching from that dark place, cataloging your sins, I am the ghost of retribution. You may forget but you are not innocent."

-Stalker Lore

Prologue

Rei Newman hardly had any rest these days. Although he was genuinely happy to be promoted at such an early age to such a prestigious title, he never had the time or the energy to celebrate. He did not want to celebrate. His predecessor, Yargo Mensik VIII, suddenly went missing, leading to his promotion as he was his assistant.

Rei was hard at work on a prototype gateway that he and his mentor started working on, so he brushed off his worry for his mentor. His mentor had always cautioned him to never stop working, as their work saved lives for every achievement. The old man, a father figure to him, brought him up with such a mentality. Again, he had to wipe his eyes as he worked on the gateway apparatus.

The Grineers guarding the door were ever vigilant for any signs of enemy activity. After space flight became commonplace, the Army, Marines and Navy were consolidated to be called Grineer. And now, Rei had to deal with jarheads while he was working. It would have been fine for them to guard the door from outside, but they also had to guard him while he worked. The stench of the squad leader Sergeant Gregori Kargadan distracted Rei as the soldier was breathing down his neck.

“Would you stop that? I can’t work here with you all sticking in my personal space.” Yelled Rei.

“Orders are orders, Mr. Newman. We are here to escort you and ensure you deliver us to the other side of the gate.”

“It’s Doctor Newman. And yes, your job is to get to the other side, but not to smell my neck. Your incessant prodding isn’t going to help us move along.” Rei retorted.

And with that statement, the sergeant backed off and muttered an unintelligible curse. The Grineer have developed their own efficient language for their operations so that infidels cannot intercept messages. Still, to Rei it just sounded like dog barking.

Having the soldier off his back made things less stressful, but then gunshots were heard outside the laboratory. Newman’s eyes widened at the realization of what was happening outside, but the large frame of Kargadan returned and immediately turned his head back to his work. The stress was back, but this time, it was no longer coming from the large beefy man at his back, but was from the screeching noises from outside the laboratory.

When he was already sweating profusely, he had suddenly managed somehow to connect the last few conduits on the gateway. He stood back to watch the engine come to life, but only saw several flickers of light and electricity come from the archway. Disappointed and at a loss, Kargadan suddenly pushed Newman aside and kicked the archway of the machine. Suddenly, a humming sound echoed through the room, and Kargadan helped Newman up with a chuckle.

Newman, at first sighing at the barbarism of the soldier, was now distracted by the increasing brightness of the archway of the machine. The archway had begun humming more and more violent and with a higher pitch as the archway was being filled with a sheet of light. As Newman, Kargadan and the other soldiers and technicians wondered at the growing gateway, explosions suddenly rocked the building.

“The eggheads are coming, Doctor. Can you make this thing go faster?” yelled Kargadan, in the midst of the noise around them.

“I don’t know Sergeant. This is the first time we’ve succeeded in opening a gate. We haven’t even made tests yet. Are you sure you want to go in this thing?” replied Rei.

“Orders are orders, Doctor. We have express orders to send the best fighters inside and make our way. We have to bring the war to them.” Shouted Kargadan.

“I know! The Sentients-” Rei paused as a piece of paper slaped his face, as apparently, the gate has completely formed. Resuming his statement “Again, the Sentients are energy beings, we don’t exactly what’s beyond that gate. We don’t know how hostile or arid their habitat is. At least let me send a probe first.”

Kargadan was signalling his men to form up while he shouted a reply in the mist of the noise, “No time, Doctor. We have to change the way this war goes. I have no time and clearance to explain to you our mission, and you have done your job, so let us do ours.”

Amidst violently flying papers and lab materials, Rei found it hard to get his bearings straight. Though he wore the latest protective exoskeleton suit, his suit was by no means a match for the heavy suits worn by Grineer soldiers. Rei watched only as the soldiers lined up before the gateway, and then motioned for his colleagues to make way.  As he walked past the soldiers, a pair of hands suddenly pulled him from the last ranks of the Grineer, only to be put around his neck. It was Psyche Hemlocke, the only elite Grineer female combat instructor, classified spy, and his ex-fiancé.

“Oh dear, I’m gonna miss ya.” Said Psyche as she stroked his hair.

“Well, I won’t.” retorted Rei.

“Oh, you’re still mad about that. Don’t worry, let me mak-“ She was cut off by Kargadan.

“Captain Hemlocke, though you outrank me, this team was commissioned and assigned to me. I would appreciate it if you were to focus at the task at hand.” And Kargadan pulled Rei away.

Rei swiftly walked away while his ex and the commanding officer bickered. For once, he was thankful to the belligerent man. He then continued his walk towards the back end of the room, near the doors. Non-Grineer personnel were instructed to evacuate once the gate was opened, and Rei intended to follow that order.

He already mentioned the other technicians to evacuate while he was “held” by Psyche, and now he was the only scientist in the laboratory. Though he hid the fact that he had combat expertise and could actually participate in the incursion, he only wanted to go back to his wife, Nelumbi.

As Rei was about to reach for the door, he stopped himself as he heard screeching sounds mingled with death throes from beyond the metal slabs. He then turned to warn the soldiers inside, but then the door exploded from behind him. In the blink of an eye, he was off his feet and was flung into the air. The explosion did minimal damage as he had protective gear, but Rei was more concerned that he was heading head first into the Void Gate. [/

spoiler]

Sounds promising. I like the Grineer spin, makes sense to.

EDIT: IMO, a new thread should be made for this.

Thanks for posting it for me, my posts are kinda delayed. Btw, since I've gotten really busy and all, I might have to put things on hiatus. Christmas here in the Philippines is a very busy holiday, and we're still recovering from the Typhoon. I myself was not affected, but relief operations will have to continue for an estimated 2 years. Yes, it's that bad. So for now, I'm just gonna check up on the thread from time to time this December, but I can't promise the continuation of Redux this month.

If you guys still wanna check up on drafts or updates, you can check my blog. I write per chapter there anyways.

Thank you all for understanding.

I'm baaaaaaaaaaak!!! Sorry, the holidays are busy for me, especially for me since my son was born on Christmas. Imagine the double effort and madness it takes. Haaaaaaa. Anyways, belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

I know I missed out on my releases, I really apologize. I have no excuse.

I'm writing "Sidestory 8.2 - The Princess and The Oracle" now as I wait for the new Year. Also in the pipeline is "Sidestory 8.3 - Titania's Wish", another sidestory to introduce the new stuff in the game into the old fanfic.

Hey, see ya later!

(Come on, somebody say something!)

Congratulations on being a father again!

Haha, I can imagine the crazyness of hollidays with a new baby!

My sister had a son just three days ago, so I am in the zone too.

I must have missed the new story? Last I read they went into the Void Gate.

What happened next, and where can I find it?

I like your writing style, you have a knack of making sci fi and battle interesting to read.

By the way, with sam redoing Oracle, how do you envision her appearance?

Just "femanized" my early version of her, still reluctant to get rid of the Priestess attire completely.

Your thoughts?

arch you launched me into a mini spaz attack I love that xD

Haha! Well you inspire me, I just hope to do the ideas justice.

Im thinking maby adapt the new storyline into stills or if my ambition do not prove to mych, make a short comic, not my specialty :)

They are such strong characters. Im thinking to introduce Chris W as the Corp head honcho :D

Love that guy.

Promise I'll work on the models more until then.

Oh S#&$! Father and daughter meet!

I think I just &!$$ed my pants there! Great work!

Just got things getting settled again, I never thought a son entering kindergarten would be so much work haha! Anyways, hope to see you more again as I've picked up the pen (keyboard) again. Please enjoy the preview: https://forums.warframe.com/index.php?/topic/116120-fanfiction-warframe-origins-complete-series-link-to-new-series/#entry1405061

@Arch: Bro, for me The Oracle has to hide her eyes, the energy emissions betray her Tenno lineage. As a priestess she wears a long, white, backless dress. She wears this during her formal duties within the Corpus, but she hides her back using a tan colored cloak with a hood. Facial tattoos are there to signify Corpus citizenship, but she should not be too tall (like Alad V, who presumably grew up in low gravity). Actually I'm thinking only 5'9" or 5'10" since she is a Tenno female, and her parents (in my universe) is originally a Saryn and a Rhino. She hides her back since she has the signature metallic spine (check my lore) of her lineage. Her version of her metallic spine is like chitin or hard membrane.

@Sam: when you get to the ending of 8.2, you'll at least smile. I guarantee it. Willing to bet 100 plat. Lol

Hmm, more like they were "bound" somehow? Nice twist. My other Canon story, Warframe Zero, played on civil war inside the Great War, but freedom plays well too. But then again, my only question for that is why are they called "Betrayers" by the Corpus if what they did was only rebel for their freedom. Nice concept. hmmmm....

All good questions. I had some thoughts on that.

If Grineer is another word for Soldier, Corpus was a class of scientists and builders.

They built the solar rails, oversaw robotics and cybernetics.

Basically the backbone, or body of Orokin society, or Corpus if you will.

They constructed the Lotus AI series. They handled the Neural Sentry operations and the betrayal of the Tenno was personal. Tenno and Lotus was their creations, and property. Property do not disobey.

So their hate for Tenno is great, even after Milennia of rebuilding the Orokin infrastructure.

How does that sound?

Heh, thanks for the confidence :D

They need a Codex book like Wh 40K. Not small snippets, real story.

Why they resist this is really beyond me.

Imo a short but solid backstory would be better to have the right now.

We are beyond mystery now

Tenno are weapons, Orokin made them.

Where did Grineer come from?

What became of the Guardians?

Who is Darvo?

Do Corpus have hair at all?

Are all Grineer old guys with small feet?

Are the Infested just lonely ?

So many questions.

^_^

I am leaning towards it being a genetic trait. After a few milennia the corpus cyber-implants and genetic enhancements have made them hairless and with little to no pigmentation of the skin.

I begs the question if a human that is hundred+ years old, is even a human any more. Can they procreate or is it all done in labs?

-Slowly walks into the thread, looking around, observing, waiting, taking in the feel of the good old times I stuck here-

does people still remember me? xD

yes.

I still visit from time to time. I'm still unscrambling my brain after DE dropped the bomb on Darvo being Frohd Ber's son. Kinda killed all of it. The Warframe Zero story could continue, but the Ember Prime lore scrambled that WF Zero in turn.

I do have something in store for this week.

I think all the men have shaved heads xD Heck, they don't even have real eyebrows

I'm beginning to doubt those tattoos and believing they are eyeliners.

I'm glad to hear that

WHAT? Wait, who's Frohd Ber again? I've been out of the loop for a while now, I am even planning to re-read your story from the top. Hehe.

But atm I am grinding like a zombie in-game, farming for oxium for the VERY NEW(at least to me) frame, Zephyr.

So yea, I've decided to come out of hiding. xD

Well I am looking forward to more great stories.

and Hi Sam. Samantha's really a pretty name. o.O

EDIT : what's new with Saryn? I missed playing her.

I formed an opinion of Corpus. They are like Egyptians.

They use glyphs and animals as deitys(proxies)

They paint themselves and shave the heads.

They worship superior beings and seem to have a leader and a court of sorts.

They have long lifespans.

Nothing much. You should see what they did to Frost. *sigh*

Oh and yeah, I'd avoid going on public missions for now. Not to be condescending, but newbies are everywhere these days. Not the good kind. The kind that uses life support at 98%. The Taxi power is overflowing these days.

Stick to the void. Prime weapon parts are available for trade now. Earn a living selling Prime Weapon Parts for Plat.

Love that. Egyptians, good point. The eyeliner theory supports this!

EDIT:

So nacht, what is going on with the story?

It began so good, I wanted to read on.

About Darvo, finally we have a face of a would be Board Member.

The WF Origins, hmmm, totally fanfic now. The Darvo lore basically negates the Vadjura lore.

The WF Zero (the other thread), again, hmmm, Darvo will not be, well, what he is in WF Origins. He'll be made according to canonical accuracy. That means, he's unborn, for now. The Ember Prime lore really screwed WF Zero over, so I have to break things off the story skeleton and put in something else. Omg, children...

BTW guys, I switched from Garena to Steam. Add me up: Erudius Nacht

I already heard about it. Globe now has HP. It's Vaub's bastille all over again.

I feel like going on pub mission is like getting a stone to hit on your head. But I still need some Oxium so I can build that new frame.

Yea, the good thing is, my long-time in-game friend is still active, I'm sure we can run void missions as soon as he is free.

For now I stick with Kappa(till i complete oxium) then I jump into Tier1 voids.

The good thing is that some minds at DE seem to be making their minds up about the backstory now. I have a feeling they are arguing internally about this - this likely caused the break from technocyte to Void as source for the warframes and Tenno warriors.

I allso have a feeling they are reading the forums quite alot, since the "Lore" we have are so full of holes and vagueness it raises more questions than it answers.

Sorry for your loss of timeline in your work. Have to find a new angle I suppose.

I suspect we soon will have absolut proof that the Lotus entity is an AI when the new Virtual Escort Mission comes live. Supposedly we will be protecting Lotus in VR space. While this in itself sound good, it allso raises questions as to what we fight in there, and if VR will give us a new set of powers to our "Avatars".

If it is confirmed, I am more convinced that Lotus is Orokin AI, salvaged or reinvented by the Corpus. They unknowingly reactivated the AI systems during their research and reconstruction of Blueprints found in Derelicts and excavation sites.

This in turn led to the reawakening of the Tenno as the old Comand Protocolls were still active.

Go into Survival. Any Tier will yield you good stuff, the rare mods are also abundant these days, I have 45 atm. Also, I dunno if it's another RNG mix up, but there is Oxium in the Void. Lore-wise though it makes sense. The problem lies in the fact that Orokin Cells have the ugly habit of becoming a mission reward. If it were llike 5-10 Orokin Cells, it'd be great since all Prime Weapons need 10 Orokin Cells to craft, but no, you get one measly Orokin Cell for the 25 minute mark. Ugh.

Honestly, the Ember Prime lore makes you ask if the one-eyed woman was Ember Prime or the children were Tenno. Sigh.

As for Lotus, if she was an AI, it makes me doubt the whole lore all in all. Who then is to say that everything so far hasn't been a VR? Think of it as The Matrix. Perhaps, we are all just humans in cryo-sleep, and Lotus is just a management program for our dreams. This makes sense, since in Mythology, the lotus flower serves as a way to imprison people in blissful sleep. It has hallucinogenic properties.

In this sense, we ARE the Orokin. After the fall of our civilization, to preserve what survived, we slept and left everything to the Lotus AI to take care of our bodies and our dreams. This would make sense why we can't venture outside the Origin System, it's the limitation of the world map of the Lotus Synchronized Dream (LSD, hahaha). Think "The 13th Floor", a movie where the character was actually in a virtual dream world, and when he  ventured outside of the city limits, the computer code was pretty visible.

Uhhh, wait, that's a story right there. LOL. Hmm...
