What happened to the Dark Sector weapon skins event they talked about a while back?

Does anyone remember when they showed off older Dark Sector weapon skins and referred to an event? I think it was mentioned at the second tennocon?

I was actually excited about those old skins, Maybe those are gunna be Nightwave rewards now?

Well, as the Dark Sector Weapons are kinda Real-Life Weapons: Why not?

I am still waiting for the day we get a skin, similar to the FAMAS for Mk1-Braton, Stradavar, Soma and all other Rifles shooting bullets.

I don't really see why not. They were plain and dull skins sure. And it's not like they haven't done goofy skins.

Some voices going around are that those skins were to similar to real weapons at the wrong moment and the idea was scrapped.

They showed the skins during a panel and the crowd was pretty excited.
