Awesome if the network team call you plug just your PlayStation (if possible) and start the game... so he can track the outgoing ip and ports... then he’ll confirm with the data that I provided.

can you ask for more info over there? what ISP do they use? if we want to try to get DE to do something about it instead of just shifting the blame to *notoriously* uncooperative companies, we need all the info we can get

That’s a good question... but he can report to DE too because until now everyone who reported was using same ISP

Which phone number did you call? I can't find a Claro/Net team more specialist just people without knowledge.

I asked,he said Comcast.He said the chat was on yesterday but today is bugging again.

Had no conclusive solution until now, but found out that same problem happens whe I try to send a message using the companion app... But there I receive a more informative error - Connection Error: IRC 9.

So, it seems that is a problem with IRC protocol. Don't know if this helps at all but for sure, seems to not be the ISP to blame for this mess.

I'm already seeing players stoping playing the game due to this error, and I'm going to the same path. Pitiful that a great game like this will lose players for a "small" issue that DE isn't able to amend.

I merely sent a complaint through their site cause I know exactly how phone support can be... less than helpful most of the time. Was supposed to receive a protocol # after 48h, but much to my surprise (not), I didn't receive one yet. Will wait a couple more days to send another message.

Nice find. Tried doing that and when I try to connect to chat using wifi my app freezes and crashes lol Works fine when I use my mobile data tho

that’s my last try to resolve if doesn’t work I’ll just switch provider (since I’m already have both) and when I don’t want be bothered I just switch back to net.

Did that by their Facebook page. Let's see if they give us some attention.

Hello. I understand that this has been brought up a number of times already, however i feel inclined to do so again.

Ever since March 24th-ish, the game has been unplayable for a a significant number of players in Brazil (Including rare cases of North American players) because, not only the game will not connect to chat servers, but matchmaking itself just doesn't work. All relays are empty and every mission in the game doesn't even search for open squadrons. This severely limits what you can do in-game, such as trading, chat interaction, etc, and pretty much turned Warframe into a single-player experience since the end of March.

In the official response, DE insisted that Brazilian ISP's (Namely Claro and NET, which would seem plausible due to the recent merging of NET into Claro, if it wasn't for the fact that players who use other ISP's have reported the same exact issue.) are to blame despite the game working fine before the update at the end of March, and that they cannot do anything about it.

Upon calling either provider the response given to us is that they can't do anything about it either, and that no other similar problem has been reported by consumers. Which isn't too surprising because you don't just call your provider to say "Hey, i'm having an issue with X game, despite all my other games working fine. Please fix it!".

Seems like Brazilian players on Playstation (and a few other countries. Again, this problem is not exclusive to Brazil.) are doomed to just uninstall the game at this point until some form of action is taken. Not even the Brazilian representative has said anything about the subject other than "please stop making posts about this." which just seems very convenient to do in his position.

I understand that due to the pandemic this sort of problem might not be so easy to fix and time might be needed, however the reply given is simply unsatisfactory considering the players cannot fix this problem themselves either. Scarlet Spear launched and many can't play because of this error.

Man tbh they (DE) not gonna do anything about this... you have 4 options:

1- start a crusade against your ISP. (Which will be just a waste of time)

2- change your ISP. (Which I personally believe any game don’t deserve that)

3- play without chat.

4- just change games. There’s a lot of better games out there.

 

its just a small number of ppl affected by the problem. if at least was all ps4 players (which isn’t even close to pc) they could change ports but it’s just a small amount Of players in a even smaller amount of consoles using same ISP

WF chat use IRC server to communicate... they changed chat ports for some reason and the new port is blocked by NET... I know Russian ppl was having chat problems for a while but there’s another coincidence SS use an own chat so can be another reason to change chat port... PC use another port with same protocol and that’s why works on PC. They could create a forward using high number port as trigger to resolve. But as I said before it’s just one ISP from just one console type. There’s nothing you can do about (except for choose a option from my previous post).... maybe and that’s a big “maybe” after SS ppl can have the chat back. Or they going to reserve that port for future SS’s.

Have you tried the SA server which is likely optimized for your region, has the vast majority of same language occupants, and people who are used to your local economical trade practices?

If the issue persists then I would say a fix is definitely in order, however given US and Canadian internet securities, general location lag and port variances, I think this may be more of a feature rather than a bug.

D.E. has gone through extensive trouble to establish localized servers that no one uses.  They then are shouldered blame for "poor connections" but with so many players flooding one central server, it's really no wonder.

I'm not saying to never play on the NA server but if you do, just know you may be part of the issue.

Just got an answer to my ticket saying they're aware of the problem and are working on a fix. Here's hoping it makes the next update. If anyone else got additional info, write it down on the ticket. I've summarized most of the findings written on this post thread on mine.

At least they're acknowledging us!

Everyone does at first... Then people realize that the SA chat servers are literally empty which makes trading and recruiting impossible.

This is not a feature neither an issue. You can't connect to *any* chat server, period.

To adress your point further, if your region chat servers are empty and there is no one to talk/recruit/trade with, people will obviously flock to a server where they can do so. In fact, yesterday a DE representative already mentioned (by e-mail) that they are aware of the issue and looking into it.

Regardless, thank you for your response. Fingers crossed they fix it so we can go back to playing the game here.

As I said at the beginning of this post... that’s the standard answer for everything that they can’t answer... try reopen ur tkt and ask for a link where that specific bug was reported. They going just close without info and then after u ask more info they going to say this

which means they not gonna do anything about it.... maybe after SS is over and they can return the irc port to normal number.

Honestly, our best bet is everyone with this issue submitting one ticket to support reporting the same problem. So everyone who has this issue should send a ticket so they can get a rough estimate of how many people are affected. Maybe it'll work, maybe it won't, but I find that actively looking for a solution is better than doing nothing at all, but that's just my opinion.

Just trying to be optimistic here

That’s good but if you look at previous post I’ve posted a tkt number (for the isp) which contains all information that they need to unblock the port. I provide port, ip, protocol and the software. So if ppl call them and say “I’m having same issue as listed in this number” can be better. I guess.

And that’s good. But I don’t think spread the “hey they going to resolve” news isn’t the way since DE already said “there’s nothing we can do about it”. Even when some ppl knows there’s a solution with their (DE) network team through “port forwarding”.
