Thumper

Why is the thumper the only enemy that shows up at sensitive mission critical moments like " I dont always ruin missions but when I do I drink Dos Equis."? The thumper needs to drop a rare mod at least I dont want it to drop kuva or anything crazy but I spent 45 mins killing it when I was a low level thinking I would get something good and it drops absolutely nothing of value at all not even a mod that a regular mob from a defense mission drops all the time the more you destroy its legs the more evasively it moves making it incredible hard to destroy its final legs there is no reason it should be able to move that fast with 2-3 broken legs. It glitches constantly it falls out of the sky on people (rip gorloqque) it shows up in the middle of timed missions just getting in the way giving absolutely no rewards other than regular things like fish parts or plants which I know this giant bulletproof robot isnt made of and definitely didn't eat at least give us a decent amount of salvage or something. Either keep it out of mission critical areas because more than once I have failed an easy mission that I'm just grinding out for some basic mods simply because the thumper pops up, and after I kill it and i get ABSOLUTELY NOTHING of value for my trouble. Now I tend to kill it simply out of spite and frustration from failing past missions. What earthly reason is there for anyone to believe that getting fish parts for 45 mins of work if I kill the thumper and complete my mission I need to get a guaranteed gold mod or a thumper specific drop make this thing worth hunting or keep it out of our way. We have never had an Eidolon just show up in the middle of a mission and start wrecking the place. I have even had Eidolons just disappear over a hill and be gone but the thumper manages to figure out the most inopportune times to show up especially during mission critical moments. Please just make it worth hunting or keep it out of mission areas. I would be perfectly fine if it dropped a rare mod or like up to 3 cetus wisps everyone would be extastic everytime it showed up that's one of the lowest level areas of the game and it's one of the most grinding fights I have been in to date. I have spent less time in a 2 man fight with the profit taker then I have with the thumper in the same 2 man team his hit boxes are to small and he glitches constantly. I really want to have a desire to hunt this thing but there is literally no incentive other than killing it to get it out of your way just so you can finish your low level bounty... for heaven sake please fix this thing.

Thumpers do give rare stuff.

They give Target Acquired and other rare mods (Augur), and the two bigger variants drop Kinetic Diversion, Spring-Loaded Blade, Korrudo BP, as well as a great quantity of Cetus resource, including Sentirum and Nyth.

And under no circumstances are you forced to kill them though. They're a minor annoyance at best

So true statement, tho tehy can screw things up at worse, had one spawn right next to that baloon thing you escort in a sortie., So level 100 thumper is not nice and risky for the NPC unit. Was lucky baloon was very close to its goal already.

At least it is no Lich or the horrible Saturn Six Wolf.

Killign them can be tricky, they havea bad habit always onyl showing two legs and turns whole body instead of just the turrets, even when invisible with Ivara all the time they jump and turn around so much it is hard to destory the last 2 legs. It is like a child on sugar rush i swear.

Always take Amesha as Archwing in the Plains, for the perma slow. Thumpers become really easy.
