DarthK3v
I have a better question: why do Kubrows lay eggs despite not appearing avian, reptilian, or platypus?

The platypus is one of the monotremes, but not the only one out of several species that currently exist, the others are all echidnas, terrestrial burrowing mammals. Zaglossus hacketti was probably the largest of them, and seems to have existed fairly recently, as we believe that they were hunted by humans, based on the fossil evidence. For whatever reason the Orokin created them as monotremes. 🤷♂️
