Aurgelmir: The Warframe of Ice and Fire

Basing him of the Norse giant Ymir, he would be a massive individual. Not just tall but stocky enough that he could put the likes of atlas to shame. The Warframe would strongly resemble a massive Viking/Norse like figure. His signature melee weapon would be a sword & shield reminiscent of a Ice pick and Viking shield. The goal of this Warframe wouldn’t be to replace Frost or ember but perhaps offer place in between. He is primarily a close combat crowd control which allow good survivability and offensive capabilities. His abilities are largely limited by his range and energy while also demanding attention for his internal temperature. Where he lacks in range he makes up for in Power.

he takes many inspirations from Iceland itself, even having a similar name to it.

Aurgelmir was a prototype Warframe that one could very easily tell just through his use. He’s almost in an area between necromechs and Warframes. His energy efficiency shows this as well due to high cost abilities with lower levels of max energy. Aurgelmir was lost when he froze the Orokin made ocean on Sao, encasing himself at the center. It was proved too difficult, if not impossible, to make Aurgelmir again without his original frame thus leaving him lost to time. His power proved to be faster than most sentients can gain resistance to them causing sentients to shatter from cold or melt from heat.

Passive: Thinking of a temperature Meter, the more Ice version of abilities he uses the higher (because he's absorbing the heat in order to freeze stuff) his temperature gets vice versa. When he reaches the threshold on either side he gets a buff depending on which ability however he cannot use abilities of that type until he Increases/decreases his temperature. His heat abilities lower his temperature because he uses his internal heat to power them.

Passive-Climate Control: when Aurgelmir reaches a temperature threshold, he develops an armor that gives different bonuses. Cold threshold will give a 200% armor bonus and 50% over-shield bonus.  Heat Threshold (overheating) will decrease damage taken by 20% and give a +80% heat damage bonus to attacks made within 3m of him.

Overheating/Overcooling: When Aurgelmir reaches a max temperature threshold, he is locked out of using abilities that would increase temperature(if overheating) or decrease temperature(overcooling). The next ability they use have a would decrease internal temperature(for overheating) or increase internal temperature(for overcooling) will gain a +200% power buff and reset Aurgelmir’s Internal Temperature.

1st Ability-Ymir's shelter: Aurgelmir creates a barrier of ice that block incoming attacks (both ally and enemies) while increasing his temperature. when switched to heat he creates a wall of fire that allows attacks to go through, reducing the damage, and damages enemies that go through the fire. hold down ability to change the next ability to cold.

Cost: 45 energy, +/- 20 Internal Temp

Misc- reduce passing attacks do 75% of damage, 200% fire status

 

2nd ability-Erupt: Aurgelmir stomps the ground causing a geyser of Magma that deals heat damage to enemies around and decreasing their armor while decreasing his temperature. When switched to cold he creates a geyser of freezing water that encases enemies in enemies in ice if under the cold status effect already. holding down this ability switches the next ability to heat.

cost: 60 energy, -/+ 30 Internal temp

Strength- 200/300/400/500 heat initial geyser, 75/100/125/150 heat per second in area

Duration-geyser instant, Magma 6/9/12/15 seconds

Range- 3m radius

Misc- reduce afflicted enemies armor by 25%, 200% heat status

Glacial Geyser:

Strength- 150/200/250/300 cold initial geyser, 100/125/150/175 cold per second in area

Duration-  geyser instant, freezing water 4/6/8/10 seconds, frozen 5/7/10/15 seconds

range- 4m radius

Misc- the initial geyser will freeze enemies inflicted with 4 cold status stacks, frozen enemies take 200% more impact damage, 200% cold status

 

3rd Ability-Bellow the Winds: Aurgelmir Breathes in to pull enemies towards him, dealing cold damage and increasing his temperature. Enemies are slowed by this ability (stacks with cold status). when switched to heat, he blows away enemies dealing heat damage and knocking them down while decreasing his temperature. Holding down this ability continues the effect allowing you to pull farther enemies closer and freezing those in it too long or sending them farther and setting them on fire. Holding it down continues to increase/decrease his temperature and energy.

misc- will pull enemies towards Aurgelmir, freeze enemies with 4 cold status stacks. 100% cold status per second. Aurgelmir will life drain 100% of the abilities damage dealt

Bellow:

Strength- 50/75/100/125 heat damage per sec, 100/200/300/400 impact if collides with object.

duration- N/A

Range-6m cone

misc- enemies will be launched and knocked prone, enemies that collide with objects will take impact damage.

 

4th Ability- Hellshieldi's Rebuke: This ability gets held down to charge. Aurgelmir absorbs heat around him to create a flaming ball in his hands. the long the ability is charged, the larger, more powerful the result. All enemies around Ymir will take cold damage per second in the area, eventually being encased in ice. when Ymir finishes the charge, he launches a devastating fireball at enemies, decreasing their armor and setting them aflame if they survived.

cost:100 energy, 0 Internal temperature change.

Duration- frozen 5/7/10/15 seconds. 9 seconds for charging (duration mods decrease the time)

Range-3m radius for cold, 4m for fireball explosion

Misc- enemies freeze at 4 stacks of cold and 200% cold status (around Aurgelmir), 25%/27.5%/30%/35% armor decrease and 300% heat status on fireball hit

 

 

Synergies/Notes:

#1-Use Cold abilities to break Enemy shields and immobilize them, opening them up to the much more devastating heat based attacks.

#2-Use Bellow the Winds (heat based) against enemies frozen solids to shatter them and Deal +200% more collision damage

#3-Use Ymir’s Shelter after Erupt to keep enemies in the AoE of Erupt or overlap damage.

#4- Ymir’s Shelter can be used to “Funnel” enemies together to hit more in one swoop.

Dreamer, do you remember the Stories of Aurgelmir? That there was once a Warframe, one of the first tests, that could change planets. They say he was so large that a mere step could crack the ground, that his breathe could move the skies and change the weather, and that he could create glaciers with just his hands. They say he was able to shape worlds and destroy them.
Yet when the Sentients came, they say he sheltered his people and protected them. That he froze the entirety of Sao’s Ocean to trap a great sentient and moved them into the void. People say a lot of things about Aurgelmir yet no one remembers him.
People reason that he’s just a myth, a way to justify Sao’s disappearance. But Dreamer, I know you’ve heard the news and gossip. That the Frozen moon has been found in the void. Dreamer, We shouldn’t wake that Slumbering Giant to avoid the gaze of whatever sleeps with him.
