Flackenstien
By no means is Volt in dire need of a buff, but.. these are changes that I would love to see, as someone who has played Volt since acquiring him on Jupiter from J3-Golem during closed beta.Description: He's simply not an alternative to gunplay. Change the description to sell Volt as a tactician that supports varied playstyles.STATS: Sprint Speed increased from 1.0 -> 1.15, as Volt may often be left behind by faster allies when using SPEED to boost the squad.PASSIVE: Reworked into a more in-depth electrical charge mechanic. Static Charge is no longer spent when dealing damage. Instead, Static Charge can be built up to 3 tiers, with each tier granting X% bonus Shock Damage. A portion of a tier is drained whenever enemies come close to Volt, jolting nearby enemies, or whenever Volt's Shield is downed, zapping enemies and improving Shield Recharge Delay. If no Static Charge has been built in X seconds, it will discharge into the environment, reducing it to 0. Visually, Volt gains electrical effects when dodging while at tier 1 Static Charge or more. Additionally, SPEED, ELECTRIC SHIELD, and OVERLOAD now gain effects based on your Static Charge tier. SPEED: Gains 25% Duration Efficiency per tier, reducing the chance that 1 second of its Duration will be spent. Some Static Charge is lost whenever Duration is spared. ELECTRIC SHIELD: Boosts Shield Regen Rate of nearby allies per tier. OVERLOAD: Gains Casting Speed per tier, but drains some Static Charge on cast.SHOCK Now has an Ability Combo Counter, where each cast opens a window of opportunity for successive casts to deal increased Damage. On every third cast of the Combo, electrical energy will be rerouted back to Volt, adding to his Static Charge and jumpstarting Shield Regen.SPEED Duration: 10s -> 15s It's great that we can recast it, but it quickly becomes a chore. SHOCKING SPEED's Range and Damage now increases based on Volt's Static Charge tier at the time of SPEED's activation, up to 100% Range and +525 base Damage increase. Value is replaced with a new one on recast, rather than refreshed.ELECTRIC SHIELD Equipping the Shield pauses the Duration, and rebuilds its Duration over time. This removes the monotony of recasting and re-grabbing for riot shield usage, and alleviates the awkward loop of picking up a SHIELD to place it at the next area, only for it to have hardly any Duration left. DISCHARGE Only the above changes relating to the Passive rework.
(PSN)Madurai-Prime
Not gonna lie, this isn't that bad. It doesn't completely change the kit, and only adds some QoL stuff, even if it's not all implemented, the shield regen is a nice touch. Disclaimer: I'm not a volt user but the subtle changes that don't mess with the frame too much seem like a decent idea.
Flackenstien
Yeah, I'm not a firm believer of completely replacing a frame's kit. It's one thing if an Ability is completely redundant, and can be combined into another one, like what happened with Rhino and Zephyr, but.. Anyways, like I said, Volt isn't a bad frame at all. Just suggesting some QoL, utility, and a more interesting and fitting extension of his existing passive.
