Are We Don't Need To Take Cover?

Anyone realize that after so many updates this game still forgot the most basic feature of 3rd person shooter game? yes that is taking cover from enemies bullet storm. well you know we still can hide by stand or crouch behind object, but that still not enough because we still have to move from the object to shoot and can make us vulnerable from the enemy gunfire, and while we crouch we need to hold the ctrl button and that will be some pain for some players.

So do you think we need the auto-cover feature in this game? like when we approaching a wall edge or fence we will automatically making a take-cover motion and that will make this video game more realistic and make us easier to defense ourself during fight with dozens of enemies

No, speaking generally of, We are don't need.

In all seriousness though, this has been discussed quite a few times before. DE wants to aim for a more fast-paced, dodge-centric and Ninja-like play style for this game with no cover functions.

There will not be an auto-cover mechanic in the game any time soon, if ever.

EDIT: By the way, wrong section for this thread, even if it is your first one.

Short answer: No.

Long answer: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

This game doesn't use a cover system because we can already duck behind the myriad pieces of scenery. Cover is for the Grineer and the Corpus.

We do not cower in fear. We charge and we unleash hell. We are not Gears of War.

If we want cover, we'll make our own. We don't need to be forced to use it.

I definitely don't want a "sticky" cover system (like GTA or Gears of War) but a dynamic peek (think Far Cry 3) would be kinda awesome.

Overall I think it's more work than reward, so if DE ever wants that done, it better be extremely low priority.

The cover system is like the classic old school cover. The kind where you actually put objects between you and the enemy.

The only thing they could do to help would be to allow projectile weapons limited wall-pass-through when you shift the camera to the Warframe's tight shoulder (use Switch Camera key). Hit-Scan weapons will already by-pass objects right in front of you to some degree.

Actually, in the early interviews, they did mention they were going to have one, just like Dark Sector did. But as a consequence, gameplay would be slowed down like Mass Effect, where you run, shoot, cover and pop up to shoot.

In favour of a significantly more fluid play style, they decided not to do it.
