A knew networkin in wf is not great but this just struct me hard. How can the game traffic be nearly 9gb since last month 20th 'til today? thats roughly 2weeks. Screenshot: http://www.flickr.com/photos/109803363@N02/12476119294/ Game updates usualy around 300-600mb if I recall correctly. We had like two of those updates. Regular updates are 7mb or so. I'm lucky I don't have limited network but some people could end up paying extra fees if they are into wf and don't check their limits. What is happening here? This is... I can't find the words. CptWasea Posted February 12, 2014 Share Posted February 12, 2014 Yes, this game generates a huge amount of traffic, waaaaay more than the other multiplayer games I play. Since I started playing WF I've had to keep an eye on my traffic limit and most of the time play in solo to avoid issues. I noticed hosting is especially bad, one match can use 40 Mb in upload. What are they doing with their time that such horrendous optimisation can still be in the game more than a year after the beta started? It's mind boggling. Zardust Posted February 12, 2014 Share Posted February 12, 2014 Yikes. Makes me wonder if we would be seeing the same results if we tried this back in, say, Update 7. Has it always been like this or is it a result of feature creep? I imagine things like the invasions system have been adding a lot of network traffic. Whatever the case, I hope for the sake of people with limits on their data use that the team crunches down and optimizes the game's networking sometime soon. This hurts people with limits, as well as being why the game tends to get laggy for most of the team when the host's upload bandwidth is less than stellar.
